      This magic's secret has been revealed for centuries. Child marriage is the secret to lasting marriages. That's how they had long lasting relationships in 18th, 19th and early 20th century. Vanishing cars, house and bank account occurs only when there is no real bond between a male and a female. Marriage today is an institution of convenience, rather than connection.

      As a magician , it kinda did. Now people are ruder to magicians when we just want to provide entertainment. People everywhere at shows someone always say I know how you did that I saw it on Masked Magician and even though some of our effects aren’t even on his show or the way he explains most of them is not how a lot of magicians do it. He caused a lot of magicians out of work and screwed a lot of people. Our jobs as magicians are to entertain. Not to be clowns , not to make people feel stupid, not to scam people but to entertain. After this show people really started treating magicians with less respect for the art. Even though the show was fun to watch it did effect the industry

    • @sigma_z
      @sigma_z 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +23

      @magicofmikemadness I disagree, if all someone has is the ignorance of others to make them entertained then it's a pretty poor excuse to be upset when the people are a little educated in how stuff works.
      There are those who are really skilled, talented and push the boundaries of misdirection that will always transcend the cheap parlour tricks.
      It's time to get better, do better and advance an aging clown act.

    • @magicofmikemadness
      @magicofmikemadness 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@sigma_z I don’t think that you’re disagreeing with what I’m saying. What I’m saying is that people became extremely rude to magicians after the show came out no matter how good they are or even if they come up with new acts that have not been done. I personally hate the clown act style of magic that has been done and still done by some today so I’m not defending that. What I am saying is that I think this show made it harder for magicians and I’m saying this as a Magician who does not do old school same old tricks. I heavily agree that yes magicians need to up their game and get updated but for the ones who cannot afford or know how to create those on the spot. This made a lot of magicians suffer. Either they suffered or they were able to adapt I’m grateful I was able to adapt, but I do know some who are still doing the same tricks from 50 years ago. I have new effects that people try to swear is on this show, even though it is not because I personally created them. This does not discredit people enjoying the show at the end of the day it’s not the trick that makes the magic it’s the person.

    To this day, I am still fascinated by magic, as I approach the age of 40. I distinctly remember the series that Val spearheaded, and even find myself to this day looking up clips from these specials on TH-cam. I’m not a magician, nor have never seriously pursued it as a career, however, I have found myself enthralled by the works of the top magicians in the game, from sitting through the often cringe Criss Angel A&E show, to having it come full circle by witnessing a live performance of His Vegas residency. Now, we see the evolution of magic across many global talent franchises, not to mention the OGs such as Copperfield. Blaine is still my ultimate guy, from the days of his no frills street magic ushering in the TH-cam craze to some of the most insane, and highly produced, feats that go beyond magic and are simply incredible displays of the limits of the human body, and to this day I am still floored by some of the achievements he was able to accomplish. Sure, I can appreciate the magicians code, but I’ll say it again, Val did nothing but encourage the wonder and appreciation of magic and the world around it. He didn’t ruin anything to me…if anything, he made me love it even more. Sure, I’m the same person who stated that the Supersize documentary (RIP Morgan) actually made me crave McDonald’s’s, but I don’t believe this is a result of a similarly peculiar nuance. The special was incredible and after hearing of his recent health struggles, I do wish him the best and would jump st the opportunity to see him again, maybe another special. Come on Netflix, if anyone can make it happen, I’m sure you can. I just hope he’s physically capable of performing. 🪄 long live Valentino, the Masked Magician (can still hear his reveal in my head and remember the day, as a young teenager, sitting on the couch with my siblings in the ultimate anticipation, ready to debunk any of the predictions I had as to who it could’ve been, and I’m sure these derived from some of the forums we know and love today in their most infancy stages.

    I was always so upset with the backlash Valentino faced for the show. How many magicians do we see on social media and TH-cam now and days. I'm 100% sure that this show played a huge role in inspiring those young magicians to pick up magic as a talent or simple passtime. This show also inspired me to learn new tricks and perform them for my family and friends and even create some of my own. Magic is an artform that everyone should have the chance to learn, and that's what those selfish, angry magicians who attacked him didn't understand. The only thing Valentino did was revitalize the art of magic.

    I saw this series and saw his reveal, and what he said I felt was true. People knowing how some of the more common tricks are done will force magicians to challenge themselves more and do tricks differently and more compelling.
    Keep it a secret for a while, but eventually, tricks should be revealed if it becomes too easy for others lol

    To truly appreciate magic is to admire the timing, execution, dedication, practice, etc.
    It’s not about the illusion, but behind the scenes string of executions and technique. In the days of the internet and age of communication everything is exposed the most important thing is the charm and execution.

    As a dilettante magician, I appreciate the work of Valentino. He gave me confidence in my craft as he demonstrated that the most important skill in magic is NOT the "how-to" but the showmanship. Also, magic is getting stale with only secrecy surrounding the art is the only true intriguing aspect of the show. Thanks Val, for making demystifying magic and making it accessible to everyone!

    The thing about the Masked Magicians is that he's not the one that created these magic effects. It was not his secret to reveal. It's different if he figured it out himself and recreated the effect his own way. But if he has training from the originator of the magic effect, it is not his purview to expose it. If he thinks it was best if it is revealed to the public, he needs to have permission from the creator of that effect to do so.
    If he wanted to show the new generation of magicians to create new and better magic effects, he could have created new ones himself and taught us how he does it instead of exposing the existing ones that he did not contribute to create. If he can't do that because that is too hard, then he knows what the other magicians felt when he exposed the secrets without their permission. They worked hard to create them, and they should be the one that had the privilege to reveal the secrets.

    While it was a mistake to not go into the proper details and safety precautions of the secrets to certain illusions, I think it's safe to assume the man only wanted to make sure new magicians weren't treading the same ground and inspire them to do new stuff constantly instead of staying in stagnation with the most famous stuff. When enough people learn how to do the some of the best illusions out there, it starts to get old fast. We needed new tricks that can create that sense of wonder while giving a fresh take on stuff. It was revolutionary, to be sure.

    The masked magician is legendary. It was always cool and unique watching him on tv. Like we “the people” were a part of the magic! Very cool! I remember we rented some of his videos from blockbuster! And we were intrigued to rent more! Before they were being shown on tv…If I recall correctly! I remember watching a magic show on tv one time, unrelated to this, but we had a TiVo or whatever it was at the time! And we’re able to rewind the video! And I actually could not believe! What I was seeing! A guy was making cards appear from his hands! And the cards were being projected!/thrown/ejected onto stage! And he was Actually catching them! That alone is magic! Still makes me wonder! Some kind of card throwing machine! But catching them alone is magic In My opinion! This was in the 90’s…so advanced technological understanding back then…
