It takes AT LEAST 4 YEARS to build a medical school application and it takes 4 SECONDS for an AdCom to send a rejection email. 30,000 premeds every single year get nothing but rejection emails. And when I was premed, that was my worst fear. So, I wanted to know WHY most premeds were rejected.
I scoured forum after forum on Student Network Thread, thread after thread on Reddit and watched HOURS of interviews with Admissions Committee members. After hearing from 87 different AdCom members, here are the EIGHT THINGS I’ve seen that get YOU rejected to medical school.

WHO AM I?
If we haven’t met before - Hey 👋 I’m Mike, a UCLA medical school graduate, now an Anesthesiology Resident in NYC and I’ve been helping premeds (just like you) get into their dream medical schools for the last 7 years. Through my videos here on this channel and our suite of premed resources available above, I share what makes premeds stand out and how you can get closer to becoming a doctor today.

Thank you , very helpful .
Glad it was helpful! :) if you think it’ll help someone else, would appreciate it if you shared!!
Would being a in house caregiver (not for a family member) count as clinical experience?
It does! See this article :)

hello, how do you recommend dealing with not having longitudinal ECs? I have had to jump between multiple ECs in research and clubs because I struggled to find what resonated with me, but I can connect them with a common theme. Do you have any tips?
Once you find what did resonate, were you able to stay with it for some time?
@@MichaelMinhLeMD Yes I was, but I only started late junior year, is that okay?
Hey man I’m starting uni at ucsd starting next fall and I literally have no idea what to do/expect to be a successful premed. Do you do coaching by any chance ??
hey man, we do! Check out premedcatalyst.com we'd love to help out how we can :)
Why does the system weed out so many potential doctors? Is itecause we can’t afford it? What if they can afford it and they are still so young? Sorry for beingslightly flippant and saucy!
