This actually makes sense for an electric bike in the city. For someone in a car uberEats and Uber are total scams though. I saw a video from some years ago by Rob the Road guy, one of his first videos, and he calculated that accounting for wear and tear on the car and everything he was making just cents an hour. That's completely ridiculous. I wish I lived somewhere I could do this. :-) Great job!
i did door dash twice in my car, i live in a county of 900k. DD ran me all over the county to make $60 in 4 hours and I burned 1/2 a tank of gas. not worth it. i went back to delivering pizza.
even regular uber/lyft are the same way. You're lucky if you make $10/hr after all expenses. Not worth it at all, just predatory companies preying on desperate drivers willing to do anything to keep food on the table.

This is what people don't take in account; yes, people need to eat and put a roof over their head but I would be horrified at making only $15-$20/hour WITHOUT counting the wear/tear on the car outside of gas.

he's definitely a little more cavalier with safety/theft. I've seen other dashers use bikes and they lock theirs up at every delivery, but that gets annoying quick and all those minutes add up making it less enjoyable. E-bikes can be remotely locked so that the wheel wont move making it hard to steal, plus they can be heavy so as long as he's quick the odds are low. I can see why he risks it, especially if he's just riding in a nice area.

How are you not worried about someone stealing your e-bike while you're inside the restaurant to pick up the food or in a stairwell delivering the food? This is something that I am always anxious about as a food courier.
The Ebike probably requires a key to start the ignition. Same reason people don't steal Motorcycles & cars parked on the street. I have an ebike and you can easily install a key lock on the motor.
@@blastaa Cars are stolen all the time. Motorcycles even more so. Key is worthless, you can just pick up the motorcycle and worry about the key later. Even easier with E-Bike. Would be gone before you even made your drop off if someone wanted it.

I will explain the driving thing. Many people driving in the city arent from the city and dont know where they are going. Dont let the bad drivers get you down. So, you don't lock your bike when it takes you a few minutes to get the order? There is no way you could leave your ebike unattended / unlocked anywhere in the metro Phoenix area without running a high risk of it getting stolen, especially that ebike.
I just ordered a Lectric XP Lite and even though I live in a relatively crime free area I don't think I could let it out of my site without it being locked. It is a great idea to use an ebike. So much more cost effective and easier in regards to parking, traffic and such. Bet you could pay off the bike pretty quickly.

Having worked with Bolt Food and Wold delivery, this is great to watch, but I'd be constantly paranoid about the bike being nicked. Had few buddies with e-bikes get their bikes stolen while they were carrying order to the client indoors. It takes literally no time for plebs to steal the bike, even considering the fact it has a lock and immobilizer and stuff. Plebs just roll up with vans, stuff the bike inside and take off. And the sad thing is, locking it up, while somewhat quick, is pretty damn annoying and considering you have to lock and unlock it like 60 times a day, it actually consumes a considerable amount of time in the long run.
I wish I could drive my bike on the pavement. In my city here in hong Kong, it’s illegal to bike on the pavement. You could only do it secretly while cops aren’t watching

You wouldn’t be doing this type of work during those months then. Also Phoenix is much more spread out than a lot of cities.
Phone mounts are overrated its more sustainable to use a portable speaker and listen to directions

you should look into a solar charger for your phone, especially since you are in sunlight so often. It charges while using.

He has a motion alarm, I heard him disarm it at one point. Not foolproof but a decent deterent.
