Hey! I just discovered your channel and was watching a ton of your videos today because I'm visiting Edinburgh in February. Glad I can drop here to say a big Thank You! Love from Brazil!
Thanks for heads up on Inverness Castle Kat as we might be up that way in September. Our biggee this year is two weeks in the Outer Hebrides in the summer which promises to be an amazing trip.
If you come to Paisley looking for local history, I *highly* recommend visiting the Sma' Shot cottages and the Abbey. Both are within 10 mins of the museum and the invigilators are very friendly and insightful. Food 46 and Nomads also have gorgeous coffee and bakes....
This is extremely helpful, especially since I don’t have a time constraint, and I have to remind myself that I won’t have a time constraint. I know I’m going to want to just run around and do everything like a crazy person, but it’s good to remind myself that I have literally the rest of my life. 😆 I’m so happy about the castle! That all sounds amazing, though I love my plaques to read, it does seem like it’ll be fun to have the light displays and such as well. I’m just looking forward to getting to know the castle, Herself. 😊 THE ROLLERCOASTER OMG WE HAVE TO GO!! It’ll be great, I promise. I’ll hold the camera for the POV shots, and hold your hand with the other. It’ll be so fun. Seriously. We’ve got this. 👍🏼
Nice upload Kakibot. I know Abbeyhill well. 2 Of my Auntie's lived there all their lives and also i used to deliver to Sainsburys there. It's actually an area that hasn't changed all that much over many years. Angelos Fish and Chip shop in the area was always good when i visited my Aunty at Lochend over many many years. Stevie in Fife.
I’m going the first two weeks of April! Your videos have helped me plan my trip so thank you:) ❤ if you have any extra tips for Scotland in early April let me know
Ideas... How about accessing "Railway Herald" Rail tours site. This will give you some idea of railway tours in the UK and includes Scotland. Tours include Forth William, and Mallaig, Inverness, Kyle of Lochalsh and of course Edinburgh itself. Good luck with this. It might give you some inspiration.
I have to admit the tax rate of 5% feels a bit high for a city tax with the hotel prices considered in Edinburgh. It is common to other cities and countries in the world but most of the time it isn't a percentage but a set price per night which is lower than those 5% would. I think this will have an impact by people might shorten their trip by a day or so.
Nice video! Would you consider doing a video about accessibility in Edinburgh? I’ve been there before, but not injured and I might not be 100% back to normal by the time I visit. Just general physical access to things. Thanks!
Hi! Been watching for a few years- always look forward to your vids! Was wondering if you could do more videos on moving to Scotland for people who are not students. I’ve watched your other videos about moving to Scotland, but would love to know more about how families immigrate there or any big hurdles people face when becoming a Scottish citizen. Thanks! 🫶🏻🏴
That would actually be really cool! @@simonmountney. I'm moving to Scotland from Australia around June on a work visa, so that would definitely be helpful if you guys get one done before then. 😃
I love watching your content over the months I've been subscribed to your channel Kakibot! Scotland is one beautiful site here in the UK that I've been wanting to visit in years here! Thank you for sharing this important information of the new exciting stuff this year in 2025!
We visited The Royal Britannia last summer. It was way more interesting than I had thought it would be. We spent hours following the route that takes you from deck to deck. It was also nice to have lunch in the restaurant on board. Recommended!
I haven't watched all of your videos, but a trip to the isle of Iona where numerous ancient royals are buried is worth a couple of hours with the possibility of doing the trip to Fingal's cave, sea life, and breeding puffins up close.
Thank you for your videos. I am traveling solo to Scotland in September for Frank Turner's Lost Evening music festival in Edinburgh. The only thing I have purchased so far is my festival tickets. I am getting a lot of ideas of things to do and where to go from your videos.
You should definitely visit the Outer Hebrides, you would absolutely love it. I'm planning on walking the Hebridean Way in 2026 (doing the West Highland Way). I visited the Outer Hebrides in 2023 and loved . themI think you'd love Lewis and Harris in particular, as well as Barra and Eriskay.
Aberdeen. There is an international festival for handbells in August 2026. Definitely interested in Aberdeen and what to do for several days before or after!
Another fantastic video full of so much information. The bogs sound interesting and so does Aberdeen. If I had to choose one, I’d choose Aberdeen. Would enjoy learning more about that city - - I’ve just booked my next UK trip for late September this year. Unfortunately, Edinburgh was much more expensive than in my past visits of 2019 & 2022….So I’ve decided to use York as my base instead. I hope to fit in a day trip to my first love Edinburgh at some point. I’m very excited to go to York, but Edinburgh & Scotland will always be my forever favorite destination.
If you need a guide to show you the best spots in Aberdeen, I volunteer! It's definitely not the nicest city at first glance, but once you know where to go it's actually lovely! I would recommend waiting for March to visit and do your guide though, since this is when the Greyhope Bay café is reopening and that's a huge highlight
Ooft Shinty! That’s an insanely violent game if ever I’ve seen one! I still remember watching a game in the Highlands, the motto for one of the teams written on their flag was ‘come hither sons of dogs and get flesh!’ 😂
I wonder what team that is. That phrase is actually the traditional battle cry of the clan Cameron. I’m guessing they’re from the Fort William / Loch Eil area which is Cameron country.
You've not been to the outer Hebrides?? Get yourself on a ferry (but aeroplanes go there too). Wonderful beaches, scenery to die for, Harris tweed (expensive but...). In the summer months you might meet a midge or two million. All the weather known to Mankind, all in one day... (Happy Burns Night, tonight!).
Hi, just discovered your channel & still exploring your videos. Love it! Perfect timing to prep for my Sept 2025 visit to Glasgow, Inverness & Edinburgh. Appreciate your tips & guidance. Any suggestions on accommodation? Adore your cafe & restaurant food recommendations. Best Pubs? Keep up the fabulous work 😊
I’d love to make a little pub tour video sometime soon! ♥️ glad you’re enjoying the vids and that you’re finding them helpful!! Accommodation wise, that’s a bit tricky - September is still a pretty high season but should be better than August when it comes to prices and availability. I think considering airbnbs outside of immediate city centre is always fun, Bruntsfield, Stockbridge, even Leith walk to get a taste of “neighbourhood life”!
@@Kakibot Děkujeme! Napadá mě dotaz: Budeme v Edi celkem 3 dny a na jeden den bychom chtěli zkusit takový ty jednodenní okruhové výlety k Loch Ness atd. Máte s tímhle nějaké zkušenosti? Popř. co byste nám doporučila?
I might give Edinburgh a miss this year (2025) in favour of Stirling/Bridge of Allan, in favour of the Kelpies and, as usual, up to Ullapool/Dingwall/Poolewe/Lochinver (the pie shop was shut when I went there last year - memo to self: avoid Monday).
Any idea of target date or month that Inverness Castle will open? I've gone to the website but no information given. I'm visiting Scotland end of June to mid July.

Thank you so much for telling us about the new places one can visit in Scotland.

Thanks for your new record .Your channel and yourself are so lovely .
I would love to learn more about the islands through your lens before venturing out myself!
It's certainly looking like an interesting year ahead with plenty to see and do
