Peanut Butter Balls
1/2 c. peanut butter
3 Tbsp. margarine or butter (softened)
1 c. powdered sugar
8 oz. chocolate coating (almond bark)
Stir together peanut butter and margarine. Gradually add sugar, stirring to combine. Shape into 1 inch balls and place on waxed paper. Let stand till dry (about 20 minutes).
If using chocolate coating, melt it down and dip peanut butter balls into melted chocolate and let excess drip off. Place on wax paper and let stand until coating is solid.
Sore in an air tight container in the fridge. Good for 7 days.
This peanut butter is also good for icing
Oohh! Good idea! I can see this being a delicious icing for brownies!
"Gradually add sugar a bit at time" NOT ALL AT ONCE.
I have two BH&G cookbooks. The older one from the 60's and the newer one from the 20's. Love them both and use them all the time. I'm 76 and my passion is Food Recipe's. I'll try these.
If you go to the website for a recipe and it wont let you print it you can do a screen shot and then paste it to a word document then you can print it! My "Second mom" use to make these. She loved them. I think they were her favorite. She passed away in July of 2022. Peanut butter makes a lot of easy recipes using very little ingredients! I C Peanut Butter 1 C white sugar and 1 large egg and you have 2 dozen cookies! I always say they are good for you because they have protein in them lol
Going to make this morning. Thank you for sharing this recipe. Hope & pray y'all have a Merry Christmas.❤❤❤
Thank you and Merry Christmas to you as well. 😊

That's what I call them too! For simplicity I called them what they're called in this particular cookbook. Welcome! 🤗

Hello new subscriber here. I'm from Alabama 👋
Welcome!
Yum peanubutter balls 😋
I love my BH and G cook book. It was printed in the 60's. I had my grandma sign it and give it to me before she died a decade ago. The pages are yellow. 🥰🧶🐲
Aww what a wonderful keepsake. 😊
@@OfficiallyMellieStar I knew that the family would have to contact me for the recipes and that would give them a reason to call me through the years.
I got mine as a wedding gift over 50 years ago.
My husband is doing a lot of sleeping this morning. I am glad because I have a headache lol! The dog and cat are also napping on the sofa! I have a lot to do today! I was going to go to the grocery yesterday but....the car wouldn't start! I charged the handheld jumper and I will attempt at getting it started around noon when it gets a little warmer. It is currently 14 degrees outside! We don't use the car very much in the winter and have only drove about 58 miles since December 14th. Basically just to go to the grocery and library or hardware store! I am not sure why it wouldn't start because I go out and turn it over every few days and there wasn't a problem then.
Cold temperatures are notorious for zapping a perfectly fine battery. Even newer ones and the older the battery, the more likely it is to have issues with the cold.
@@OfficiallyMellieStar we have this jump charger itty bitty thing we got from Costco a year or two ago. This is the first time I have used it. It is nice because you don't need another car to get a jump. I just went out to use it and it took a few minutes to figure it out. I connected it and the engine turned over when I started it! I am letting it warm up right now and then I will go to the store. It is finally 17 degrees now!
@@OfficiallyMellieStar I am not sure how old the battery is as it came with the car. So it is at least from 2020.
@@rachaelsupadventures We have one of those too! It's handy! Glad your car started!
Will be making these later today (Christmas Eve) for my Sister-In-Law to take to her family’s Christmas Party tomorrow. I use the same recipe (always coated in chocolate, and double or triple it), and have only made it for the same party for the last five years. Love these little things (my mouth was watering as I watched you making them!!), but do you know if there is a sugar-free version of powdered sugar available anywhere?? I always use Splenda as a substitute for granulated sugar in all my recipes, but have never been able to find anything to substitute for powdered sugar.
BTW, I also had my Mama’s two BH&Gs (one from 60’s/70’s gifted from her Mama, and one from 90’s gifted from me), but lost them along with all of her other cookbooks with her handwritten notes and recipes to a fire last year-I cried so so much!!
Can’t wait to check out your other recipes-thanks!!
Yes! Splenda has a powdered sugar substitute! Here is the recipe! www.splenda.com/recipe/powdered-sugar/#:~:text=Sugar%20Free%20Powdered%20Sugar&text=In%20a%20blender%2C%20combine%20Splenda,to%20garnish%20your%20favorite%20desserts.
Good morning Mellie! Or when they leave like 1/4 a cup of milk in the fridge lol! Or open a new one because they didn't see the old one right away! How many children do you have? I had a girl and two boys. They are now all adults! 33, 29, and just turned 25!
Lol yes the milk issue! I have one child, he turns 9 this year. 😊
@@OfficiallyMellieStar Nine is a nice age! so he is in 3rd grade? I work as a substitute teacher and paraeducator now.
@@rachaelsupadventures He's going into 3rd this year. I homeschool and he's doing amazing. Advancing fast too this will be his second year with computer coding as an elective. I'm so proud of him!
I prefer butter to the margarine.
I do too but this particular time I didn't have time to soften the butter.
You could have had everything ready before videoing to make it go quicker!!
Yes! True.
Easy recipe ❤❤❤ video way too slow!!!!!
So much sugar in all the peanut butter balls.
Yes there is. I have a healthy version I'll be posting soon!
Dear One,
You called this a short video….the video was not short…
18 minutes LONG
The recipe is short…and the video could have taken a whole 10 minutes, or less.
We spent, at Least 8 minutes watching a pair of Hans roll out the balls.
I would have loved seeing your face part of the time…
Showing you roll out maybe THREE balls;
(once we see 2 or 3 balls riled out we’ve
Seen’em all),
We knew the recipe in about 3 minutes.
You must be new at this stuff…and you bring nifty recipes💖,
but, Sweet Lady…watching you roll out the balls was boring after the first 3.
YOU are going to have a MARVELOUS Vlog once you perfect the camera work.
While you were rolling out those many balls it wouldn’t have been so boring if we could have seen your face and listened to you talk about what your previous experiences were with this recipe and your family’s like and dislike of some of the versions. I liked it when you mentioned your hubby not caring for the chocolate to cover them.
Jus’sayin’ ♥️
Your are on the way to success; I can tell❣️
Thank you so much! This here is exactly the feedback I need. 😊🥰❤️🙏
