Jim Carrey actually seems like his normal self and not his crazy self....as weird and seemingly contradictory as that sounds.

What we consider his "normal" is the character he plays to sell his movies. His funny public persona. That's what we want to buy. The "crazy" Jim is way more thoughtful and complex, although he seems so convinced that I'm not sure I'd find it interesting to exchange with him over the long run. One thing for sure: brilliant actor. I loved Sonic.

It’s certainly the best film he has been in, in my opinion, but I personally view it more as a Charlie Kaufman movie, than a Jim Carrey movie. He did great, but it wasn’t really his energy that carried it.

You can REALLY tell Jim Carrey is not a modern comedic actor: he's right on the ball every single time, he knows how to be funny & spontaneous. Not the same type of actor/energy, but he reminds me of Robin Williams' interviews. Watch The Truman Show if you haven't.
I only wanna see Sonic because of the man, Jim Carrey. He's just one of the greatest guys in the world.

The Majestic is by far his most underrated film. Such a great movie and his performance in that is amazing.
I always thought that was a designed move to purposely show he can be a dramatic actor. What I think happened was he provided so many blockbusters in a row, generating hundreds of millions..maybe even a billion, the movie company threw him a bone basically saying "Here..go show your dramatic chops on a movie we know will tank, because you made us so much money already, we'll let you have a mulligan."

@@markherring3513 Truman Show was before The Majestic and the producers were waiting for him some years to finish his comedies and do Truman Show. He already didn't have anything to prove back then. He can play anything.

People may hate the movie, but Jim as The Riddler in Batman Forever made it for me!
Excellent chemistry just going along with the stuff Jim comes out with. Usually interviewers gloss over the stuff he says or only go along with it up to a point :p
I love that he personally rates The Cable Guy. That’s one of my top Carrey films. Panned when it came out because it wasn’t what people expected of him then but looking back it’s a mini 90’s comedy classic!
