It is 100% true. Outlet stores have to fill their stores with regular product. They DO carry some pieces that are surplus stock from the regular store, but they need to keep those outlet stores stocked. I live right next to an outlet mall with some great designers, but I recently decided not to purchase items from there any more. I have found that their products just don't last compared to the regular store quality, so in the end I realized it wasn't the brand I wanted to purchase, it was the quality behind the brand. It's been a long journey, but I've realized that there is a definite difference between cost and worth and buying those outlet items...They just aren't worth the price cut for me. Thank you for sharing, Eileen :)

Absolutely true! Most designer pieces sold in specialty outlet stores are made specifically for outlets.

    As always on point 👍🏻
I also passed my phase, where I bought a lot… then I downsized to my few favorites and just now after I understood the effort that comes with buying, reselling… I learned to be more mindful and to be buying only things I need and will use rather than things I just simply want for sake of wanting or collecting.

Interesting thought Provoking Video. You reminded me of how I felt when I first started to find interest in YT Luxury Videos. I could never get over all the lovely items everyone shared. I wondered if it was just me or did other subscribers feel intimidated and out of place to even be here with this community. I knew I could not afford all the things I saw. But, I was smart enough to know, that NO, I was NOT going into debt over a bag or a pair of shoes REGARDLESS what an influencer had to say... *I had to SAVED For Luxury* & missed out because of it too - NO FOMO, but, I Just Miss Out 😁, it is what it is. Watching Luxury videos, particularly unboxings, can cause someone to go in debt, spend money that may need to be saved for more important things, as you stated here. So, while I saved, I learned what bags I would enjoy & appreciate more. Eileen, I had to do this because there was ZERO room for a mistake - I had to get it right the first time. I'm so happy I took this route.😊
It's my understanding some, not all, Outlet Stores sell items designed for outlet only and items sold in store previous seasonal items. I buy what I Love & at the best price possible - I buy to keep so resale value is not a priority for me. I like being in Control of my spending & money. Great video!!! TFS&I ♥️🌟

In the US, it is very common for the items sold in the outlet stores to be of lesser quality and made specifically for the outlets. It didn't always used to be that way, but now it's most of the time. Coach has two different lines now, one for outlet and one for regular retail.

I have slowed down my shopping a lot this year but honestly still get really tempted. I suggest completing one’s holy grail collection even if it means spending more upfront. But it’s liberating and gives one a different perspective when shopping ❤

I haven't slowed down my shopping YET! This is the first year I have been tempted by the Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals. The good thing is that I only keep the items that add meaning to my wardrobe and that I absolutely love. The outlet shops usually have products made especially for these shops, therefore the quality is different. Thanks for your inspiration, Eileen.

I agree spending more on quality pieces is worth it more that that $20 pair of jeans or whatever. i too have a cashmere sweater/jumper and i love it! Yes I spent more but, I wear it a lot when we get below freezing or even negative degrees. Keeps me warm an cozy and I hardly feel the cold if I have to venture out for any reason.

Plus a great insight about coming to this line when you start to be afraid of actually wearing the piece. I 100% felt that. I understand that with my lifestyle (like going in the public transport often) I would be afraid to wear real Hermes bag, even though I want to invest in one someday. but what's the point of just placing it on the shelf as a museum artifact....

Great video! Now I am also avoiding acrylic pieces, instead I invested in a few Uniqlo merino wool and cashmere sweaters that feel great, I wear them often. the same thing goes to buying a good waterproof practical puffer jacket.

But I must admit I only learned all of this being 30. A lot of junk was bought in my 20s!!

Recently, I bought some ankle boots for £40 from MANGO, and its been literally like 2 months and the zipper is broken and the stitches has already start fraying....
I also bought high boots from John Lewis for like £195, and I've been wearing it almost every single weekend for the last year...zipper still works easily and perfect. You really get what you pay for.

I went only once to an outlet. I liked two things from massimo dutti but both had imperfections. I would not go anymore, I prefer my things to be new and perfect and to enjoy them a long time.

Birkin is a bag worth buying that will last a lifetime, but is it worth the time and effort to win an offer ?

I recently started to buy 2nd hand luxury pieces because I live in Shanghai and found a lot of people who shopped like crazy without thinking carefully and I’m able to find brand new or 99% new stuff from reliable resellers . Don’t get me wrong they are not counterfeit 😂

I have been buying predominantly preloved in the past few years too. The market is in a slump at the moment and there’s some great bargains out there if you look hard enough. Even Chanel bags have gone down this year.

Regardless of the bbkbags bag or any other factors, I ardently hold that without proper expertise, one would fail to distinguish variations in the sack's appearance or metal parts.
