Also the reason people rely on the the kara version of the demon is because it comes out faster and if "set-up" properly is inescapable. So if a kara demon is set-up to be inescapable, then you always have time to buffer the two jabs out of something else. Other than that a regular demon would suffice for those punish or wake up situations. The lag in the first part of the regular version was meant to punish and catch jump-ins, so in those situations it'll do just fine.
@UpcloseKill No, it's +1 before the flash, the start-up animation of the grab will grab on the first frame, thus it being 0 frame start-up. If it was 1 frame, you could jump it. You can't.
@Shinkada You can only jump out if you do so before the demon activates. Same goes for any other one frame command grab/ultra/super, i.e. Zangief.
@ILL777WILL Yep, I agree. He has all the basic fundamental shoto stuff, so you can play him as textbook as you want, but then he does trucks of damage and has nifty setups + a demon.
@TheApatheticGuy doubt it, videos that are canned are CANNED for life. since I delete all source files. I don't think they're going to remove combos though, so nothing to worry about.
@jidengcheng his kara throw and kara DP, he can chain crouch short into a special move, tatsu crosses up on wakeup, lk axe kick leaves you +1, allowing you to kara cancel demon or throw. I feel like you must have not been watching the video.
@HiddenTriagram Eye of the beholder. He has a fireball ultra, and he uses ex meter like a glutton. he wouldn't get fireball super all that often, and the approach/setups for super demon are a complete different spectrum than a fireball punish. That makes the threat of super much greater, even if you don't use it. Also...0 frame startup. Better than 2!
@hamiltonshinto In the corner only, such as ex fireball into ex srk/tatsu, and you can reset them from the corner too, or tatsu > sweep about 12 characters.

@JsianSRK You can't combo into RH axe kick, you can only combo into LK axe kick (with no follow-up, it's 0 on hit), or MK axe kick (which lets you follow up after).
@lordofultima I'd be more inclined to believe Shun Goku Satsu was more versatile than a Metsu Hadouken if it wasn't nerfed to all hell in this game. There's very few options for using it because it, among other things, pushes the opponent before actually hitting them (making use of it as a frame trap less viable) and doesn't ghost any more (making attack punishment needlessly unreliable). You basically have to either punish jumps or attacks with long recovery.
@ryoaska1 The tatsu has nothing to do with the demon. They are separate things. It's just a setup to accompany a kara demon. If people neutral jump every time you get close to them on wakeup, you discourage them from jumping.

@Sephlock super is a 0 frame grab...That's the way super demon has always been (Akuma/Oni Both have this property also). It's a grab. If Zangief activates ultra point blank and you haven't jumped, it's too late to jump.

seems like he can combo his DP vs some characters after the crossup LK Tatsus.

the standing LK is fickle, you need the close one, but sometimes the normals you put before it cause you to get the far LK and it just whiffs in their face. Just more demonstrating that you can mash into a stand LK and cancel into a combo, it's not entirely practical if you can use normal hit-confirms.
The first thing I noticed was Sonic´s tune. And I´m proud.

@lduro3 normal dive kick can be activated before and after apex of jump (akuma's is strict), dp has less invincibility but can be kara'd, forward and backward throw set up better mixup, blahblahblah
furthermore, the tatsu isn't the important part at all, it's just a setup to get a grab because it introduces just the correct amount of delay for your opponent to wake up. if you were to kara demon without the tatsu which is almost always what you should do, you have to do it raw out of the blue. so it's good practice to buffer it in the animating move.
Everything works fine on my end. You probably have to execute it differently on your end since you use a joy stick but i use a fight pad. Also there is no need for any D/F input. Besides the jabs wont whiff if you buffer them at the ending frames of the tatsu animation, plus my way is much simpler and easier to understand.
LP(x2), F+LK+MK, (all 3 punches)
It just dawned on me... E.Ryu's taunt at the end was eerily similar to one of Suija's win poses in Samurai Shodown... namely, the one where he showers in the blood of his killed opponent...
@lduro3 no air fireball, no demonflip, shorter teleport, axe kick, super damaging combos, 3rd strike low forward, typical ryu stand roundhouse, fast releasing ground fireball, ability to chain mp into shaku, jugglable SRK's in corner, faster dash, jumping mp is two hits and sets up juggle state, lk tatsu starts up faster, he's evil-er? I dunno. They're different characters, that should be the answer.
@TheRealCodeBlack 0 frame grab...no long recovery required. if they don't jump before the flash and you're in grab range, you grab them 100%. You must be trying to combo into a demon or something which is silly, you can't combo into command grab supers. That's like complaining that Gief's ultra whiffs when you do it after connecting a fierce punch. Of course it does, because the hitstun prevents them from being grabbed, you can't be grabbed when you're in hit or block stun.
no. if you are hitting forward in the previous input, and you input the last input on the very next frame, the forward will not register, as the game things you're holding forward. thus the d/f input is much smarter, because it's a different forward input that will for sure register on the next frame after the previous input.

And to do it raw out of the blue is pointless because it is to slow to surprise anyone from a distance, unless your right next to your opponent and or waiting for them to wake up.
@lordofultima ahh kk. was thinking it'd be fun to do that to skip over a sweep. but I guess it can work that way for Eryu
Make a video of you doing these setups online! that crossup tatsu is pretty slick
f+mk (hopkick) buffer super. Longer distance kara than overhead chop, avoids lows.
@SoggyHotDoggy Evil Ryu is who I play. Certainly wouldn't waste time on a character I don't play.
F+LP+MK (x2), D/F+LK+LP+MP+HP. It's pretty quick, just three inputs.
@VolcanicAkuma555 Don't believe so. Evil Ryu's LK tatsu recovers quicker it seems.
I just came from this trying to learn some Evil Ryu tech. You just got a new sub
using that overhead as a hop over is sooo dirty, that and the cancel into super after conditioning people with another crossover tatsu has won me so many ranked matches against good players. i dont think evil ryu is a great character but he has soo many gimmicks that make him potent in a one game situation.
@TheAlphanite the cr.mk kara throw is a bitch, I just show it to show it. In most instances kara with fierce works fine. Yes I am kara DP'ing with low forward, that is very easy. The range speaks for itself, both those uppercuts are done at the max range that they will hit. I split the screen on purpose, you're supposed to pause it and look at the feet!

@sejko Street Fighter has 2D hitboxes...I'm saying MK9 has the collision system of a 3D fighting game i.e. Tekken, and not a 2D collision system like Street Fighter.
@lordofultima Unless you modified it, the Ultra SHun Goku Satsu isn't a zero Frame Grab. The Super version is, thought.

@simplelife88393 It's not a competition or anything..just an evil ryu vid. How you can say an oni video is better than an evil ryu video or vice versa...I just don't know what to say to that one. lol
@simplelife88393 you too, I'm sure your oni would body me anyway, that match actually pretty difficult for evil ryu it seems.

@jelaninoel Well it's a mix-up, obviously you're not just gonna tatsu all day. And mashing srk can oft go the wrong way, when you're on one side one frame, and then the other side the next.

@TheRealCodeBlack This is evil Ryu. who is talking about Akuma's Ultra? Shun Goku Satsu is Raging Demon, it is the Super. Shin Shun Goku Satsu would be Ultra.
I know Ryu's upset about losing his soul, but he doesn't need to beat himself up over it.

thanks and while i have your attention i cant seem to hit the c.lp or c.lk into lk tatsu like you do in this video. i get pushed back too far and the st.lk whiffs by their face. did capcom make some sort of patch?

lord I learned a trick where you can use an EX full charge in your combo and they cant dodge it or backdash out of it

@lordofultima Still, if that is the case, why do you need to do the tatsu before the demon? If you don't, does it work for Akuma as well?

@jelaninoel Yeah well, if they buff his health his damage will go down, I can guarantee it. I'd rather have his damage so, I'll take the vitality hit.
I've been messing with the Kara stuff for a while now. I would like to use his cr mk kara throw more but its hard to pull off in the heat of battle.. to me anyway. Anyway I have a question. Are you kara canceling the cr. mk into shoryuken in this video? and also is the difference too noticeable? I'll probably start doing it when I'm zoning if its noticeable like the kara-fireball.

that wouldn't work. you would whiff jabs if you did that, you have to hit the jabs as the hopkick is animating, so simultaneously, or immediately after. I show the input simultaneous because that's exactly what I'm doing, you hit LP+MK twice because of ease on the muscles, less to remember. you can't demon from forward, to forward again, has to be a different forward input at that point, so you roll to down/forward.
Or maybe he watched the video but cannot appreciate advanced things. As I do. I barely understood the kara throw and I think meaty tatsu, isn't it ?
