My first viewing of this truly wonderful little film about one of history's preaching greats - John Bunyan - will be the first of many! Utterly riveting performance by Norman Rodway, full of passion upon passion, coupled with Denis Shaw's brilliant adaptation, nearly transports the viewer back through time! All credit to entire cast and crew! Glory to God for this heartfelt production!

This is what needs to be preached in so many churches today. Back to the truth that we are lost in sin. Judged by the commandments unworthy but saved by faith in Christ Jesus. This sermon is the completed opposite of the health and wealth “ gospel” of so many churches today. Very well done, the setting is accurate, as believers in Christ had to meet in hiding from those who were the primary persecuters in of the early church in Britain. Recall that Martin Luther was called by God to expose that other very large entity, who profess, claim to be of Christ, but they teach "works" gospel, such as infant water baptism. Ladies, if you haven't read it yet, I suggest the book "The Preacher's Bride" by Jody Hedlund. It's a fictional work, but contains historical facts of JB's life and marriage to his second wife, Elizabeth (his first wife died in childbirth). Jody Hedlund also wrote a similar book about Luther & Katharina (also the title) - a most excellent read! Her writing fleshes out these spiritual mammoths in a manner that you feel you really know them. You can purchase these books from Christian Book, or possibly at a book shop.

He was an inspired preacher of Gods word risking his life for anyone wanting to hear salvation to their souls. How hard must it have been in the 1600’s to share Trueth. Many would have been without the written word and dependent on verbal communication.
Bunyan is absolutely right. Only God alone calls people and only God alone gives people authority to preach, the church of England at that time had taken advantage of that and always made decisions without God's guiding.

That wasn't John Wesley, that was George Whitefield. They knew each other in college, but George Whitefield had the larger ministry. Steve Lawson has an incredible seminar on the life of George Whitefield - give a listen to it and encourage your soul!

I think the scripture dealing with this subject is not read in context. The same error most make with Matthew 7:1. the devil twists and deceives with scripture those who do not study and rightly divide.
He preaches the truth as Jesus said i am the only way to the father, i am the way the truth and the life. Paul the disciple preached the same truth that Jesus is the only way. Paul preached repent of your sins and confess with your mouth that Jesus is the only way. Believe Jesus is your savior and paid the price for you and except him and you are saved. Then God's holy spirit will come in and begin to change you from the inside out. Just trust God and when you realize the truth you will want to obey him because you love him. It could happen instantly or it could take some longer but it will happen if you trust God.

That wasn't John Wesley, that was George Whitefield. They knew each other in college, but George Whitefield had the larger ministry.

What think the law cristians, that Bunyan had the hair so long xD.
I think the scripture dealing with this subject is not read in context. The same error most make with Matthew 7:1. the devil twists and deceives with scripture those who do not study and rightly divide.
He preaches the truth as Jesus said i am the only way to the father, i am the way the truth and the life. Paul the disciple preached the same truth that Jesus is the only way. Paul preached repent of your sins and confess with your mouth that Jesus is the only way. Believe Jesus is your savior and paid the price for you and except him and you are saved. Then God's holy spirit will come in and begin to change you from the inside out. Just trust God and when you realize the truth you will want to obey him because you love him. It could happen instantly or it could take some longer but it will happen if you trust God.

Those who belong to Christ Jesus our Lord and Saviour, the only
begotten Son of God the Father Almighty; have put to death their sinful carnal
human natures, with all its evil passions, lusts, desires and greed for this world.
By the foolishness of preaching true Faith in the finished work of our Lord, the
elect Sons of God, are led by the Holy Spirit of Christ, to crucify their sin, through FAITH in the
death of Christ on the Cross and the power of His Resurrection and Ascension into Heaven.
This is the Power of God. The Mystery and Message of the early Christian Faith
Crucify sin - and sin shall no longer have dominion over you. Purge your own life,
mind and heart, then Divine Peace and Love will come to you.
The Choice is simple - Save your sinful life and you will loose your life and soul for all eternity.
Give up and deny your sinful life for Christ’s sake, you will save your soul and life for all eternity.

Any other Gospel is an Abomination in the face of the

It has a curse on it, anyone who preaches another Gospel, is already cursed.
Man can glory in nothing, since the world and the lusts of it are passing away,
Our Lord shows us the Cross, crucifixion and death to Sin, in exchange, He gives us eternal Life.
Satan offers us the World and the lusts of everything in the world,
No crucifixion, no circumcision of your deceiteful sinful heart, in exchange
the eternal damnation of your never dying soul!
No one can ignore this Message, it is the Truth it is the last Message,
It is the only Way to the Kingdom of Heaven.
For He hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be
made the righteousness of God in him. 1 Cor, 5: 21;
May the Peace of God the Father, through our Blessed Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, be on all faithful Children of God, scattered in every Tribe, Nation, People and tongue.
The Saints who worship God the Father, through His Living Word, Jesus Christ,
for His Glory and the extension of His Kingdom. Amen !
