    I own a Tiguan and it has been an awesome car, driving on the highway is actually fun, super comfy, compact outside and very spacious on the inside. My favorite thing is how stable it is on snow and bad roads, the AWD is incredibly safe, traction is awesome.

    I have the 2019 Tiguan and I love it. It's small enough to drive around the city but big enough to take my family to trips. I also love the adjustable rear seat when I need Extra cargo space. It's quite and comfortable to drive over long distances.
    True, my first option would be the hybrid RAV4, but for tax reasons is a no-no

    My mother bought a Tiguan. It's very spacious in the back. I'm 182cm and can cross my legs in the back seat. In Canada we get the 2.0TSI with the 8AT and extended wheel base.
    The hesitation when moving from a stop is annoying. I leave it in sport mode all the time or if I'm turning in a tricky junction, I brake boost.
    That trailer backup assist was a big thing when ford introduced it in the F-150 pickup like 5 years ago

    • @MarekDrives

    In my opinion, you follow the basic rule, don't fix if it ain't broken. All they needed was to hear majority of the complaints about being underpowered..esp for the R. Cosmetology, it's gorgeous..why did they change that?? All they needed to do is to give it more power, that's it.

    Hi Marek. The reason for the physical control of the lights is simple: it is mandatory in Germany. Best regards. Matt

    • @MarekDrives
      @MarekDrives 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't think so. The ID.3, new Golf, new Leon, etc. have a touch-panel to control the lights, and they even put the window heater there, which is annoying, to say the least. Window heater is then repeated in the general AC controls on the infotainment screen, but if you take this car as a rental, you'll be frustrated, before you find anything.

    Hey wait! I still have tapes, vinyl LPs, and CDs.... I wish I could play my vinyl in the car. I like your dad. He's cool. That Tiguan R looks fun. Like it's never coming to Canada anyway so I'm still hoping the ID4 AWD will kick it. I wonder if they will have an 8 track tape player option...

      Believe it or not, but there was a car gramophone back in the 50s :)
      www.hagerty.com/media/automotive-history/obsolete-car-audio-part-2/
      This one's a 45, though I think I saw pictures of a full on 33 somewhere as well.
      Yeah, I still have my tapes under the bed, but I have nothing to play them on. I bought this 70's Telefunken stereo (separate tape deck, amplifier, tuner and a turntable), but I never used it, and the dust killed the tape head. Sold it, and now I'm looking for a sensible record player solution, preferably one I can pair to my bluetooth speaker without an amplifier. Not easy, as you can probably imagine :) I have no clue if the tapes are any good, but Winamp killed the mixtape for me. I should get it for the Mac, because iTunes sucks big time.

    • @krane15
      @krane15 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @User 2389 There are albums and tapes much older than that. Nevertheless, it depend on the quality of the optical disc and how its created. The best of them are coated and have data that is etched into the substrate making them highly durable with greater reliabillty. In fact, optical discs are the most durable and longest lasting storage medium currently available.

    I have the pre-facelift model and always knew they lied about the boot space (615L my a*s), as I compared it with my previous Audi A44 (480L), but never imagined the difference was so big. only 400L... no wonder I was struggling to get the usual weekend bags in.
    Who wants to buy a 2018 Tiguan? :)

    • @MarekDrives
      @MarekDrives 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, the official spec sheet for this car is bullshit. They should have said something on the lines of 400-600, rather than bluntly stating it's 615L. BTW, Renault has done something similar with the new Clio. Officially the boot volume is 391 liters, and every media outlet ran with it. I measured it, and there is no way in hell you can get this much. The new Clio is the same size, as the old Clio, and the old Clio had around 300 liters.

    Sorry but I won't suggest anyone to buy vw tiguan. I had bad experience with vw and audi group . In January 2018 I purchased nearly new vw tiguan , it had about 6k miles on it and I drove it up to 23k ,I ended up selling it in 2020 to a car dealer I sold the car for very cheap price and it did not even cover my deposit money. How ever when I owned the tiguan I did not get to drive it much , in fact I could not trust the car to travel for long distance as its gearbox started to break down every now and then, cars front axcel started to make chunky sort of noise , it earned most of miles out of 23k miles just driving from vw garage to home and then back to garage . It was so annoying that i was paying for an suv but i was driving polo ( courtesy vehicle) , i needed a car as i work in healthcare care sector , but my tiguan let me down and decided to break down when covid 19 was on it's peak and my patients needed me the most and I could not get to work because bloody car broke down every day and vw could not facilitate a courtesy vehicle anymore during peak of pandemic . I had to rely on taxi as my car was at vw garage for maintenance and I was still paying monthly instalment for vw tiguan plus mentally harassment caused by vw tiguan After sale service was also hilarious as when ever I got my car back from vw garage they either scratched interior or exterior or atleast other additional faults . It was my dream car because i worked so long to buy a decent suv for family but I ended up paying more for nightmare , I went to Audi dealer to buy new a6 and there deal was so expensive they did not havw any option to support key worker to buy new car and that is where I lost my hope in Audi but on the other hand bmw group managed to hook me up with a great and cheaper deal on 5 series m port plus model due to my work in healthcare . Finally bmw fulfilled my dreams but unfortunately vw and Audi failed to satisfy a care worker who sacrifice his life on looking after people in pandemic and have only one dream which is to have a nice and decent car .
    Sorry for negativity.

      I understand, but this is how I make money. And it's not just about making a living. I need to update my gear, sometimes we film road trip videos that require fuel and accommodation, and sometimes we film cars that we know won't make money, but they are relevant to the audience.
      Due do Covid I'm down on views and money. I'm not a fan of those double ads (especially those that are too long or unskippable). But I'm afraid this is the price for "free" content. I have a great CD collection and enjoying using a 6-stack on long trips in my Honda Accord Euro, now dropped from the New Zealand market. Omitting the players from new car models is just crazy! I have no intention of ripping my extensive collection just to get them on to my iphone, to try to sync them. Even an input audio jack on the console would be better than nothing so that a 12v player could be added. And does this 2021 model have good acceleration when passing or on steep inclines or is it a slug?

    • @MarekDrives
      @MarekDrives 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I guess if you have that extensive CD collection, it makes sense. I started downloading music during the Napster era, so I haven't listed to a whole album start to finish in ages. That being said, I never really enjoyed entire albums. I'm more of a singles guy. This is where platforms like spotify, etc. come in.

      The rav4 drives like a can, it also has uncomfortable seats, Japanese SUV feel like boxes in corners, like they will tumble...after 2 years Japanese cars look horrible while Germans still maintain their elegant looks.

      @@jpch8814 Nope. There is nothing innovative about German cars... Especially knowing how unreliable they are.

      Rich people change car every 5 years. Who keep car longer than that ?. If you don’t have money and have to keep a car longer than 5 years than buy Rav4 . While rich people enjoy the comfort car and get a new one every 5 years

    This Tiguan Allspace is on the MQB-A2 platform, same as the SEAT Tarraco and the Škoda Kodiaq, so what makes this any different to those two? Why would anyone buy one over the other?

      It's a headscratcher :)
      I guess they are somehow targeted at slightly different buyers, possibly regionally as well.
