I have been to four of the state parks that were in your video. Really cool catch of the bobcat.

I heard that Huntsville is a nightmare on the weekends. Too close to Houston, overcrowded with people that don’t respect quiet hours or “leave no trace”.

Nice compilation. Of these, I haven't been to Colorado Bend, despite wanting to go for years. I now live further from it than I did when I was in the Houston area, so we'll see when that happens. My "home" parks are now Palo Duro and Caprock, so I can't complain too much. Your planned parks for this year look great. It's been too long since I've been to Dino Valley, the Guads, and the Davis. Love those places.

Thanks! Hope you'll find yourself at CO Bend sooner than later. I love that park. Usually less crowded and such diverse landscape. I sure wish our canyony parks were closer to me. They were amazing. Need to add Garner to my list. Just booked.

Great vid! Which park was your favorite?
I made it out to Tyler State Park, Mission Tejas SP, Cleburne SP, Huntsville SP, Colorado Bend, Fort Parker SP, and Dinosaur Valley last year and went to Caprock Canyons the first week of this year. Stay safe!

I really enjoyed Caprock Canyons. There's some seriously red rock there and amazing views. Hoping to make it to Tyler State Park soon. I keep hearing great things about it. Did you enjoy it there?

@@smithmutexas I live just outside of Tyler, so go there frequently for day hikes. It has a decent trail system and you can rack up your mileage. The C & D loops also have some decent elevation changes! It’s an old CCC park and I always enjoy the history of those parks.

Great Video Mike. You have some of my favorite places and a few I still need to get to. Looks like Caprock Caynones is about a 7-hour drive from San Antonio? Is it worth it? What are the best trails there?

Definitely. Haynes Ridge is phenomenal. That's where all the high up awesome vista shots I took were from.
