Fitting A MAXXFAN DELUXE and FIAMMA Roof Vent - DIY Budget Campervan Conversion

Though a budget build, good ventilation was something we had no intention of scrimping on; after all, we have a pooch we need to keep cool and comfortable!
So why an expensive Maxxfan Deluxe? One big plus for us was the integrated rain rood, which means the Maxxfan Deluxe can still be used even with the lid closed; a feature which we're sure will come in really handy in the rainy UK climate!
The roof vent has a 10-speed fan which can shift 900 cubic feet of air per minute on max. This is what gives the Maxxfan Deluxe superior airflow/cooling over its competitors; something super handy in those hot summer months whilst sat in a metal box on wheels!
The 2-way fan allows the Maxxfan Deluxe to bring fresh air in or extract stale air out of a campervan.
The Maxxfan Deluxe has a ceiling fan mode which means the fan can be used whilst the lid is shut; simply press the lid close button on the remote whilst the fan is running. A small amount of air will be brought in from outside in this mode, like a trickle vent.
Maxxfan Deluxe roof vents also have a thermostat feature; set the temperature you want the fan to turn on at. When the unit senses within 1-2 degrees of your set temperature it will lift the lid and automatically put the fan on extract on the lowest speed. If the difference in temperature increases, the fan speed will also increase. Equally, if the temperature drops then the unit will decrease speed or turn off and close the lid.
To compliment the Maxxfan Deluxe we opted for a Fiamma roof vent at the front of the campervan; a perfect budget companion for the money, well built and cheap by comparison!
