Super underrated channel. It's nice to get a female perspective to the retro handhelds scene. Your whole set is really nice and your edits are so much better than mine. Super jealous lol. Also thank you for representing the R36S well. Keep up the good work.

Rg35xx and this one (R36S) are the two i have coming for me. I enjoy and dont mind the tinkering. Sometimes its more fun than the playing 😋

Looks neat, but I will stick with what I’ve got. The original Anbernic RG35xx has been going for that price. It’s a solid option, but doesn’t have the sticks. Have you tested the sticks to see if they have proper movement? Example, pushing slightly to the left makes small movement in the game. Wondering if are dialed in correctly or if they go 0 to 100 with not much in between.

Megaman x 1-6 and Megaman 8 and Megaman and bass snes translated is the best games to play on there. Zero series on gba is amazing too 1-4

Ace review! We prefer the white to the purple: the plastic feels better in the hand.
R36S is awesome, especially after some simple mods: ArkOS update, D-pad mod, screen fix... we even developed a new grip! New to TH-cam but we've got tutorials for all of that.

Great Video, Really well made. My nephew's birthday is coming up and I really want to give him a portable device so that he can play the games I grew up on. I have a budget of $50, is this the best device I can give him or is there some other device that can give better performance? Any help will be deeply appreciated.

So sure there are better handhelds out there. Questions..... do you want a plug n play out of the box experience or would he want to do some tinkering with a custom firmware? Also, what systems and what age?
I might suggest this device just because if $50 is the budget, everything else I would recommend is between 50-100.

Hey @@RetroFunTech thanks for the response. I am ok with tinkering with a custom firmware as long as I am getting the most bang for my buck. My nephew is 8 years old so I think I can do the custom firmware for him. I am looking for something that can with little tinkering play up to PSP games at 60fps. I have set my budget at 50 but I can stretch it up to 60.

So the device that comes to mind, aside from the R36s, is the Anbernic RG35xxH. The 35xxH definitely plays PSP, maybe not all the titles, but enough that it would make it fun. That is a little more than your stretched budget tho, probably looking at close to $70.
There are also 35xx and the Miyoo Mini but they only play up to PS1 and Nintendo DS.
There is an update for the firmware on the R36s to update it to a newer version of ArkOS.
Obviously up to you. I have an 8 yr old myself and he likes the R36s and seems navigate it well.
      Hope this helps!

Did it come with a Mario game or did you have to install that yourself

It came with Mario. I didn't add anything to the device at all. All the games shown in the video came with the device.

Can it save files? I got my kids cheap retro emulator hand helds that do not save the files sadly.

      @RetroFunTech  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

Yes! Just tested. It even works if the device has been powered off.
In game, press Select & X. That will bring up the quick menu for RetroArch and it's just a couple clicks down to the Save/Load state.
      Thanks for watching!

Depends if you want to be able to use real cartridges. Otherwise yes I agree with that. Way easier to just emulate and keep your original hardware and games safe
