    Hey, Lucia! Im a first time viewer and I loved your video! Im currently having some issues with my Blue Chalksticks. I've had him for a little over a year and he had been doing great until recently the leaves began to get really soft and squishy and then shrivel up!! Any advice would greatly help since I'm still a bit of a newbie succulent mom 💜

    I repotted my plant and it had a ton of roots all around the substrate. But in the inside there was a hole which you could see from down under. There were almost no roots. Ot looked really weird. The roots also had little hairs, havnt seen that on ither succulents yet.
    Also does this plant get air roots? Because mine is shooting out little roots like a monstera.
    I have a senecio aquarine (mount everest).

    Can u help me identify my Senecio please? It has banana leaves but It branches out upwards but the branches turn from green to tree bark once the branches are fully developed. Is it possible to grow senecios under a grow light? cuz currently im using a pink LED Pink and Blue grow light. I did my research and it says it helps grow plants indoors but im not getting the best results. Well hopefully you reach out Thanks Anyways

    Hi there, my plant started to dry out at the tips of the leaves. I bought it just a few days ago. Many leaves are dry halfway their length already :( what am I doing wrong? It's in a sunny place, I watered it twice in the past 7 days. Help!

      Hi! I'm sorry to hear that...! I usually don't water her so much.. The cause may actually be overwatering? Could you send picture maybe? You can send via Instagram or Twitter (in the description of the video)
      Sending lots of positive energy and we will try to figure it out ♥️☺️🌿

    Hi Lucia! I absolutely adore you videos. They have helped me so much! However, I have an issue with my blue chalk senecio. It was beautiful and super healthy looking when I bought 3 weeks ago. It is in a 6 inch pot.
    I only have watered it once since purchasing and allowed it to dry out all the way before I watered. When I purchased it the soil was damp so I knew it has been recently watered. I originally had it indoors about 4 feet from an east facing window but thought it wasn't getting enough light. So I moved it outside in filtered sunlight. I live in Texas and it has been 90 degrees and higher the past few weeks. Today I noticed many of its leaves were completely shriveled and dried out and are a black color. They easily came off, so I removed the dried up leaves and brought it indoors. Maybe it was too hot for it? It is very, very dry but I'm hesitant to water it again.
    I'd appreciate any advice!
    Thank you and keep being amazing!

      I have the same issue.. I krpt mine indoors in a north facing window.. Now it's all shivered up and the tips are black! Not sure if it:l's due to low light? I dont' have access to more sun as I live in an apartment.

      Hiii! I'm so sorry I missed your comment earlier.. ! How's your Senecio doing now? This may be too hot and dry for it, so if it is outside and the temperatures are higher, the soil may be drying out more quickly and hence we need to water more frequently.. Let me know how it is going

    • @PlantsandLucia
      @PlantsandLucia  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @No Name hi! Would it be possible that you send a picture on instagram? we may be able to figure out what's the issue.. It may be lacking sunlight, in my experience the senecio really likes bright sunlight

    I just got this plant as a gift about a month ago, and it's been growing very well. However, from some of my research, a lot of people don't recommend keeping it as an indoor plant. Can you give me some housekeeping pointers if I DID want to keep it indoors?

    • @PlantsandLucia
      @PlantsandLucia  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi Jazzkia Jones! Thanks for your comment 😊 great gift, the senecio mandraliscae is a very special plant!
      Hmm I would guess that the some of the main reasons why not to have it indoors is light and humidity... I have mine inside and she has been growing really well. I think one important thing with the blue chalk sticks Succulent is light. They do very well in full sun or light shade, for example I have mine in front of a south facing window so she gets lots of natural sunlight. In terms of humidity, I try to keep my senecio with other succulents that don't need so much humidity, that way the air around them is more dry. Try placing yours with other succulents and not with tropical plants, as they tend to increase humidity in the proximity around them.
      I hope this is helpful! Let me know how it goes 😊
