    Wow that was so good to know. I have two of these little pretty plants that i bought at a local store already planted. I been feeding them purified water not know how to care for them properly, and they have spouted and roots have begun to come out the bottoms. I had no idea how to care for them until now. Thank you for the very clear and detailed steps. This is very helpful. :)

    I'm pretty sure that's a Haworthia attenuata. It's very similar to the fasciata and the care is the same but it's just something I noticed. the difference is that the white bands go all the way around the leaves on the fasciata and the attenuata has the white bands just on the outside of the leaves.

    Can you show us how you water your plant, what id that method and what is drainage?

    • @PlantsandLucia
      @PlantsandLucia  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Sara! Of course ❤️ You can actually find my whole water and care routine in this video here: th-cam.com/video/Skl3BPJdGHI/w-d-xo.html (in this video I show you guys my most updated bottom watering method, as we have grown our collection and this is more efficient for us)
      You can also find another video on bottom watering here: th-cam.com/video/e85Tzzllq1U/w-d-xo.html
      Drainage is basically the ability of our pots and plants to drain the water.. this is important because we don't want our plants to be sitting in soil that is too wet, so we need to add some ingredients to our potting mix, in order for the water to go through and let the soil be moist but not wet (bottom watering method also works for this 😊) You can also find my potting mix recipe (where I explain the ingredients that I use and what they are good for) here: th-cam.com/video/EMBzzbQ_nr8/w-d-xo.html
      Hope this is helpful!

    I bought this plant 2 years ago. Although the leaves were big when I bought it, now they're much smaller. I can't water more as its roots tend to rot. I can't give it more sunlight as the leaves get sunburnt in direct sunlight. And this plant doesn't like much feeding, only 2-3 times in the growing season. What else can I do?
    I read in a lot of websites that this plant is not demanding at all..., but in practice it seems just the opposite...

    So my boyfriend just gave me his little plant, and i only just found out that it is a succulent. he had it in a large cereal bowl (without drainage holes) with other succulent plants, but they all died on him, i assume because of poor drainage. But the only one that did survive was his Zebra Haworthia. Now.. my question is.... i understand they like well drainage, but what if i couldn't find any Succulent & Cacti potting soil at the store? :( can i still use regular potting soil that contains perlite? should i just water until its completely dry, to prevent root rot? I really want to keep it alive.

    • @PlantsandLucia
      @PlantsandLucia  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! My apologies for missing your comment earlier..! First, that is so nice of your boyfriend! (great gift haha ☺️🌿!)
      Yes, the zebra plant🦓🌿 is super strong... A substrate with 50% soil and 50% perlite should work just fine ☺️ and yes, for watering, make sure you let the soil dry in between waterings, that should keep her happy 🌿!
