Upgrade your workbench.. you’ll get the ability to make better tools to be able to be able to get the hardwood. Every upgrade for the bench unlocks new items to build.
One of the best ways to get those metal parts you need in the smelter is to take your boat out and run over barrels in the ocean. You can also find bananas too.
Hey Z, I am an avid follower and subscriber and love your videos. I think you may get too excited or something because you miss so many things. Please dont take this wrong, just trying to offer some constructive criticism. Im like dude its right there! Your asking questions and the answer is right in front of you so often. Im thinking Z is a veteran gamer how is it is misses so much stuff and takes so long to figure things out. You missed a pile of coins in the cave right on the table next to the blacksmith and all the mushrooms in the last cave room. To get a better axe to chop the hardwood, just need to upgrade your workbench. Hope I dont come off as too harsh. I do really enjoy watching but some times im just like ARRGG! lol
Z did such a good job on that first fight - then went straight back into 'grandpa with the TV controller' mode. Shame. And wasting money on seeds at that stage rather than just picking em up.... sigh.

I did upgrade the bench tho, and I did mention that I needed to in order to get the upgrade, which is why I built the smelter, to get the upgrade mats for the workbench....I did miss the coins oops.... mushrooms tho, I dont care for them, have an odd taste. Z, you need a Hardened Steel Axe for Hardwood. Look at your Workbench and get it upgraded! You can also harvest Trees, Stones, and Clay and sell it in the town, to earn money for the upgraded Backpack. I believe you only need 100 Gold for the first Pack upgrade?!?
@@Z1Gaming Yes, Wood, Stone, and Clay (along with Fiber) are the major building resources. How hard is it, though, to go out and Forage for more. Heck, they grow immediately outside your home. You can also easily gather a few THOUSAND units of Wood and stash them in Storage, 100 units at a time with the beginner backpack. Similarly with Stone and Clay. Those are resources that are EASY to replace. Do note that you were right next to the Hardwood, as it's located inside the walls where you fought the small Void Creatures. HARDWOODS, on the other hand, do not appear to regrow. Once harvested, that's it. There are several islands that have Hardwood, but I have yet to find a Hardwood Tree that's regenerated...

How do you have a blacksmith?! I've unlocked the backpack that holds 500 of each item, and unlocked the town all the way until it doesn't have upgrades available anymore. What am I missing??
As usual, Z keeps missing the details. He can sell regular Wood, Stone, and Clay for Gold. He forgets to water plants in plots that he just placed. He doesn't remember that he has supplies stashed in the Storage areas outside his cabin... While he's beaten the first Cave (which I have yet to do, but that's because I haven't gone back in - already had one failed attempt), he keeps missing little things that could move him along faster. The Island with the second Cave also had Lavender on it, but he never collected it. There's so much, but I'll stop there, before it becomes a rant... I was practically yelling at the screen watching this vid...
I use Stone, Wood and Clay why sell it when I have flowers that are literally only there to be sold? I missed a Lavender plant, I also did not chop down every single tree on the island either... Im sorry? Its funny how people get so upset watching someone else play a game, let me remind you that I am playing the game NOT you, YOU can play however you like .... There's so much, but I'll stop there, before it becomes a rant.... lol

Just go out and harvest more. They can be stored at Home in Storage, and be easily replenished. All 3 regrow, so they never run out. If one goes on a Harvesting spree, RSS may be difficult to locate for a short period of time. Yes, you ARE the one playing the playthrough, but I'm just trying to point out opportunities to help you advance faster...

The best way to get xp is harvesting crops, you'll probably level up three or more levels harvesting lol.
When you buy a tool or weapon you can drag the image to your toolbar at the shop without needing to use your chest.

If you need easy and quick money, fishing is the way to go. You don't need bait or anything, just a rod and click on the fishing spots. 🎣🎣
