Shut the front door!!! Fantastic guys! Every-time I look at my new welding helmet I think . . . "That really needs some dressing up." Considered me inspired! You guys rock!
Making this a functional helmet is exactly what I commented on last video. Everything bob makes is used, even if this isn’t normally used it absolutely could be. Awesome
For anyone who wants to cut acrylic but dont have a table saw, there is actually thing called an Acrylic Cutter/Knife. Simply score the sheet and break it off. Perfect cut every time. Mine is a Tajima LC-701 Plastic Cutter
Only down side to using it practically. The clear view screen will get cloudy and damaged if you use with Mig or Stick. Looks fantastic though. Great build and really cool techniques for construction. Thanks for sharing.
You need to modify the tip of the drill bit to get it to work. You are looking for a more flat approach than what most buts have. I installed car stereos in college and clear speaker boxes were all the rage back then.
Be carefull with plexiglass near anything hot, it burns really well. Sparks will burn in, material might start to smolder. It's not the adviced material for a welding helmet.
Very cool build. Now for the coup de grace; put an auto-darkening lens in the thing. Pretty sure you can do it and it may be your favorite helmet after that.
For nest time I would recommend polycarbonate, it has the same properties as plexiglass but does not shatter and for this and similar applications is really good to work with in my experience!
This is so interesting, I just downloaded for myself two days ago. And I LOVE it. I've been watching others play "real" PUBG on youtube for ages, and I was itching to try - but I don't have money for it or a computer that could handle it. Mobile has been a blast of a solution.
@@michaelosmon I haven't encountered a lot of cheaters - tbh, most of the people I run into seem to be small children who don't pose much of a challenge. How does a person cheat at a game like that anyway?
@@Exayevie search on yt, there are tons of videos on pubg cheats. They use addons or scripts, that part i dont know a ton about. But wall hack lets you see through walls and objects. Aim bot lets you get near flawless accuracy. Theres a headshot hack i forget what its called. People use them constantly. I'm not sure how the matching works maybe because I'm fairly decent i keep getting matched with players who have incredible k/d ratios but idk. Its hit or miss. Sometimes i get 15 kills sometimes i get taken out right away. Even with cheaters the game is still fun
Awesome video and love seeing how you process through the challenges of your builds. Thank you for showing me that there is always time to think and make a rational decision. Cheers until the next video.
Save yourself the hassle and buy polycarbonate instead of acrylic. It doesn’t snap and can be bullet proof when thick enough. So it’s actually safe! Its more expensive, but there is zero chance of it snapping.
I suggest you try making a labyrinth maze where you move the metal ball from the start to finish. There's going to be holes to avoid the metal ball to fall through and start the maze over again. Try to make a vid about it if you can. Btw love your videos hehe
Funny, I have just such a toaster oven in my shop.. I added a biohazard symbol to it, just to make sure no one ever uses the shop toaster oven for food ever again.
Idk man I usually like my French toast to have some powdered sugar on it, so if you’re using that thing for powder coatin’ i think you’ve got yourself a valuable cookin appliance right there
Tip for glueing styrene together. Use clear PVC cleaner. It has the same active ingredients as store bought styrene solvents but is a fraction of the cost. You can check out how I use it at Wesmade Builds on TH-cam.
Hey Bob, what was the first coat of paint you used? Was that like a primer for plastics or something? Edit: Nevermind, lol. I went back and paused the video and saw what it was. It just went by a little too quick for me the first time. Thanks.
Suppose modelling the main visor off a template could've provided a more stable mount for the plastic to cool down on, and given you all the references/measurements you needed to construct the lens section.. 🤔
Not gonna lie, I would have probably replaced the acrylic peep slot, with an interchangeable mechanism so you could switch between the two, and lock it in place snuggly.
14:00 Colin Furze cosplay
LOL Yup.
yeap, thought so too.
The first time I ever saw the Battlegrounds advert on Facebook I thought of Furze. He's got his safety tie on and everything :D
Ah yes, Bob "Clamp Champ" Clagett strikes again...
Love the clamp as a weapon. He is the clamp champ, after all.
I thought this was Colin furz 😂😂😂
Love the tie, that's how you weld like a boss.
I thought maybe it was an colin furze cameo haha
@@Pickswitch gotta have your safety tie!
@@Pickswitch same. i thought it was a reference or shout out.
@@yewsengcheong1637 I did too untill I saw an ad for pubG,

Great tip! I may look into one of those, thanks!
The F Clamp should be a new bonus weapon in PUBG. Great work, love the prop builds
And if it was the Maker Brand F style clamp you could take out a tank.
Petition to add Clamp Champ skin and a Clamp as a lootable weapon to PUBG
Ha! That'd be awesome
Brave man doing a mobile game ad. Awesome video as always
I like how you unlocked the 'clamp champ' weapon at the end!
Very cool, love all the acrylic techniques in this video. Good timing you can wear this helmet while you go grocery shopping now.
Man, this turned out so cool! I love that you made it a functional helmet.
Thank you very much, Bruce!
Josh in the bloopers reminds me of Moze from the office
Hahah, yes!
Glad to know I'm not the only one to grunt to myself while working on projects. Fantastic finished product as always!
You and Alec Steele both use some of the same music in your videos. Two of my fav makers!
I think there's a bundle of stock youtube music people put in the background. =P
Yeah, we both use some from the same licensing service 👍🏼
This is a good kick in the pants to make my shop more whimsical. Great video guys!
The few times I had to cut plexiglas I found it helpful to tape the part with painterstape, that helped it against shattering.
Very Cool Prop helmet from PUBG Mobile !!!!!!!!!!!!!
I dig the safety tie look! Also, nice build!
Thanks! 👍
Nice Jurassic Park reference!
Glad you're making good use of your quarantine time. Stay safe.
Your projects are so entertaining to watch absolutely love the bloopers at the end!

Pretty fantastic job, Bob! 😃
You need to try it some time with PVC pipes! You can make flat boards out of them! 😃
If you do a lot of acrylic work then acrylic bits are a must.
I dont know this game... I dont weld... but I love me some ILTMS prop action! great job Bob!
He's done it again I love the big projects! He did a ping pong table maybe next a pool table that would be awesome!
Be carefull with plexiglass near anything hot, it burns really well. Sparks will burn in, material might start to smolder. It's not the adviced material for a welding helmet.
I really like this build, you should make a black leather neck piece to block the sparks, that would look way cool with the dark helmet.
Man I just love your creativity!
Very cool build. Now for the coup de grace; put an auto-darkening lens in the thing. Pretty sure you can do it and it may be your favorite helmet after that.
I like that a clamp is Bob's weapon of choice
Props on making this as a functional item

Plexiglass, Lexan, etc. Those are all brand names of a specific grade of poly carbonate...

You can also stick on googly eyes and paint them to look like rivets
It looks awesome!
...sooo, when do you go in mass production?
Can you build another camera gear thing such as a cheaper easier to make at home gimbal?
This is for real an awesome idea and id love to make one in my workshop someday. Great work!
I'm a fan of the game and have played it almost since it came out. So cool that you made it a functional piece.
Amazing work Bob, I love PUBG and I love your projects and it's a combination, well done mate 👏👏👏
Thanks a bunch!

Wow! Who was that model you hired at the end to wear the helmet? The way they swung that clamp over their shoulder was moving. It made me feel things.
Hahahaha, I've got a future in clamp modeling
Very Colin Furze of you! Love it
Another cool way to do it is with 3d printing, the helmet being ABS could be easily glued to the 3dprinted faceplate by using acetone
Looks like a daft punk helmet. You should totally make one of them
YYYYYEEESSSS THIS WAS AWESOME!!! (comin from a Fortnite guy)

is that a Colin Furze Safety Tie?
Pubg came out on my birthday so there anniversary is my birthday, so they celebrate with me!

Safety tie

Great video. Just curious, does bending the polycarbonate welding lens change the effectiveness of the lens?
That's a welding helmet I would want to wear! (even though I'm not a gamer)
