  • An inexpensive, very light weight game hoist that you can make for very little money. This system is a must have for the serious hunter who likes to hang a deer for dressing, curing and processing. NEVER be without a good game hoist again! Total weight: 13.5 oz.
DIY hunting gear at it's best!

Had this for almost ten years now. Hung a lot of deer on it. It reliably lifts and holds 200 pounds fairly easily with one person.

Great stuff. I always take two pulleys with me on a up river trips. You never know when you need a pulley to pull a boat higher on the bank or get a log jamb out of your way on the river. Keep these type videos coming. Love it. Good luck this weekend brother. Bow season starts for me October 1. Counting the days.

this is awesome! As a smaller woman, with a husband who has a full time job in town, i am looking for a way to be able to handle butchering without having to wait for him to come home or wait for the weekend - this makes the hoisting so much easier if it's me and a few kids trying to get meat in the freezer :) - right now that ol' hog who escaped is looking a little less lucky :) - (I don't have a good tree branch - mostly willows and poplars here, but i do have nice big beams i can use :))...

take you 3 good stout saplings and make a tripod. works great, I've had to do it in logged country several times.

Thanks for this. I went out and purchased a couple of little pulleys, should help a lot with field butchering. I’m not strong enough to carry. Whole animal out of the hills so I like butchering in the field.

It really works. I still use the exact same set up. It has hung just about every deer I've killed since I made this video. Happy hunting!

that's called a single part line system ........the more parts or pulley wheels used the more reduction.

It looks like a 3:1 not 2:1. You have one line attached to the grill, and 3 pulling it.

Heard that bro. I have since hung a 250 plus pound hog with this and it held up just fine...here in the Carolinas a deer that weighs 150+ dressed is extremely rare.
