Wow, I have been digging your videos for awhile. But, now you are hitting up areas I grew up in, near Jackson Heights. You are taking me back to my childhood, before my family got pushed out by insane rent and cost of living. BTW, is that you speaking Spanish! You sound more fluent than my Colombian ass!
Wow you REALLY know how to find them! When I used to live in Queens this was my favorite place to go. It’s simple no frills but authentic to the Dominican culture
Im Colombian n grew up in Lomg island. I live in fl now n these videos make my heart ache but feels so good. You are showimg us the old people of NY the ones that made Ny what it is..all the beautiful immigrants that worked hard to share all these beautiful cultures n meals with all New yorkers. Ibrought my.kids up tp ny fpr the 1st time 2 years ago. Have to go back try some of these places you metioned before they are gone.❤😊😢
I just stumbled upon your channel through this TH-cam algorithm and I love it. This one makes me proud to see DR covered like this and I liked that you spoke spanish to him!
1 thing about my people, we hustlers & don’t play about our food 🇩🇴 I’ll make sure to take the drive to support him. If anyone wants great Dominican food, you can find it in Jersey too. Especially Perth Amboy 💜
Exactly! I understand visitors to NY have limited time but I do wish more people would venture out of the city. (And I suspect these awesome videos are going to help make that happen❤️) Queens is its own multisensory, delicious destination! Well worth a subway ride.
What you do so well is get the environment felt through the camera- you show the walls, the imperfections that we all know lie in every Mom & Pop restaurants. Those imperfections are usually what make you love the place so much more
That food looks amazing. Simple ingredients, made with passion. I’m honestly more excited about the spicy version of “perhaps, perhaps, perhaps” though 😂
Comida cubana y dominicana es como una comida equis que te preparaba tu abuela con arroz, plátano, puerco y frijoles pero te cobran 20 dólares cada plato ajajajaja
Honestly this looks like crap. No wonder Dominican is never listed as one of the top 50 cuisines of the world. I'll stick with Japanese Chinese Indian Persian Mid-Eastern Turkish Greek Italian Hungarian Polish German French British American and Mexican, and a scattering of dishes from SEAsia and South America. But I can die happy never eating this crap.
@@ericktellez7632 > sounds like you just have a personal vendetta against Dominicans Vendetta is in the ear of the beholder. Actually I don't know any Dominicans but I have a lot of respect for the country. Dominican Republic shares a big island about 50/50 with Haiti, and is so much better run that you can literally see this border from space. Domincan Republican has almost 10x the per capita GDP at purchasing price parity (PPP) of Haiti, a sign that they're really doing something right. Likeable country, but I wouldn't touch their food with a ten foot chopstick.
“Everyone deserves more respect”
Love that.

Homie made my allergies act up with that big truth.
@@rbain2813I thought it was just the onions with that beef for me.

From a diverse world of Spanish cultures to Cuba😂
That gentleman reminds me of so many older souls that are so respectful of others. Traits like that are less common today
Jesus loves ya!
Born and raised in Corona Queens, to me personally that was the best Dominican restaurant out there.
I just stumbled upon your channel through this TH-cam algorithm and I love it. This one makes me proud to see DR covered like this and I liked that you spoke spanish to him!
That mofongo looks ✨
very happy for you, Robert. You're putting out fantastic content, highlighting wonderful people, and (hopefully) getting reception you deserve.
And eating yummy food!
I've never had Dominican food... It looks so unique, the way its served. Would love to try it.
We have a local food truck which serves it. Unfortunately I don't know the best things to try.
It is not unique as many of their foods are 'Puerto Rican' staples such as the Mofongo.
@@ninahndz5880 is it served the same way?
@@ninahndz5880Only mofongo but the rest us Dominican food, don't be jealous.😂

Love that you can communicate with them in Spanish. Where did you pick the language up from ?
I’ve been taking classes for a few years.

Dominican food is one of my favorites
I’ve been there once while in the area visiting and the food is delicious! Watching this video gave me good memories. I’ll be back.

That sausage looked top tier. I bet the rice and beans were crazy
This was my favorite restaurant growing up 10/10
I’ve been going there since I was about 5 or 6 I’m now 23. Crazy to see it on TH-cam. La Brisa has gone through a lot of changes.
Gracias por representarnos también. Arriba República Dominicana.
Everyone deserves respect.
I am Dominican, Colombian, & Puerto Rican. I always order from here. Love this place
🇩🇴🇨🇴🇵🇷
I love fried plantains and that dish of those mashed with pork and served with sauce looked incredible. What's the dish called?
Mofongo. It’s filling but so good.
I LOVE mofongo
Morongo is a Puerto Rican staple.
Bruh the fact ur showing my spots!!! Just subscribed.
For anyone wondering, red cutting board usually is used for raw beef, green for produce. Wonder if the owner knows.
As long as you keep consistent within your own color-coded system, you're good IMO. Plus, sanitize all boards after use of course
The food looks immaculate❤
Every last thing looked delicious!
Thank you for representing my country!
My sister grew up there ♥️🇩🇴
That food looks amazing. Simple ingredients, made with passion. I’m honestly more excited about the spicy version of “perhaps, perhaps, perhaps” though 😂
Mofongo!! I can’t wait to try some.
Everything looks absolutely delicious
robert does it like no other
Perfect answer to the respect question
I love Dominican mofongo its so good the only one I like.😊
Solid spot. Dominican's can cook like no other
Nice, cant wait to visit
looks amazing
That looked good! Didn't know you spoke Spanish, man! Go to Washington Heights!
That looks absurdly good.
In my opinion Dominican food is the dominant latin food in NY. While I love them all the flavor is just unmatched.
Good guy and comfy atmosphere . Food looks like something i’d cook in a rush tho.
Nice ! I'm planing to visit ASAP
Does Parkside restaurant still exist in Corona? Would love to see a video done about that place.
Looks great. Give Rossy’s some love (East 3rd btwn. B&C)
If you come back to Corona, you should definitely check out La Espiga
That mofongo looks delish! 🤤
Much love to Dominicans!
🔥❤️🔥🔥man i use to go there alot- unfortunately I’m not in nyc currently😢
Man that looks good
Just a thought but u should bring this food to Vietnam. They would go wild for this food its so different

Oh wow... haven't been there in a minute... need to go back
It would be awesome if " buy thanks" wasn't over the captions. I also have low visibility. TIA
Oh we call flag "bendera" too in Indonesia
Nice español, Robert! 👌🏾
Ayee that's cool, my family is from Corona

people sleep on the Caribbean and i think it's got something to do with internalized racism honestly
Es Buena pero la de Puerto Rico me gusta mas es mas criolla
If it is mofongo it is not dominican. The mangu is the one from the republic.
I know its a long shot, but is there any chance the meat is halal? If not no problem fish is good too
“Traditional” DR food and they show Mofongo lmao.
Mofongo is Puerto Rican not Dominican.

Your second comment tells me everything I need to know about your general view of the world so I’m taking your culinary opinions with a grain of salt
