I am so sick of some so-called reporter shoving a microphone in peoples' faces and asking them how they feel. Their feelings are not news. The reporter's feelings are not news. So, how do you feel about that?

I'm sorry that I couldn't help but notice that they're continuously showing this one house with the black iron fence around it just pouring water on a fully engulfed house, what a waste of time and water! I don't mean to say that I'm a firefighter and know exactly what they're doing but it looked pretty pointless to me.
Reporter says Valley Vista and other streets in 'Camarillo Heights" but it is actually Las Posas Estates, a few miles west of Camarillo Heights. (understandable when she is not familiar with the area.
The only silver lining is that a lot of these houses were built in the 1960s and are worn out. The owners will have to deal with their insurance companies, which isn’t going to be easy, but they will get a new, up-to-date house in the end. Same as what happened in Ventura. After all is said and done, it’s the owners of houses that were spared who wind up at a disadvantage, because they are left with an old, worn-out house with smoke damage in a neighborhood of brand-new houses.
The houses that are burning are not from the 60s. Most of those houses were WAY newer Mansions and neighborhoods they propped up on the hill. Las posas estates is not that old. They started building way up over there in the 80s. Camarillo heights is another story. That's where the older houses are off East loop
@@cblaker68 you do not know what you are talking about. There is a variety of houses in Las Posas Estates, from the 1940s through new builds. I can see that some of the houses that burned were newer and some appear to be from the 60s. I am not going to engage any further with someone who does not know what they are talking about. And the houses are hardly mansions. Although I suppose you consider a mansion, may be based on what you are used to. I consider use of the word comical.
@@cblaker68 I did not mean to be rude and I am sorry. However, I stand by everything I said. The houses are not mansions, nobody who lives in the neighborhood refers to our houses as mansions, and nobody built “neighborhoods propped up on the hill”. They are individual custom homes on unique lots built at all different times. There are a couple of areas where lemon orchards were torn out and a developer built a few houses, but they are on flat areas, not propped up on a hill or down in a canyon. My family moved to Camarillo in 1969, and to the Estates in 1976. It’s embarrassing to even say “the Estates”. I have always avoided using the term, preferring to just tell people what street I live on. Unfortunately people in the regular part of town are not familiar with the streets, so that forces one to use the term. I cringe every time.
@@genxx2724 I am aware thank you. I was just referring to how empty the heights used to be. I know there were some old houses up there. And the housing tracts that were built in the 60s and 70s weren't mansions. The Mansions I was referring to are just that. Mansions. When you can fit 4 to 6 average sized homes in one home that's a mansion to most people. Who wouldn't be aware that they're custom? None of this was the point I was trying to make. I remember when the heights was nearly bare past N Loop. We could drive up to that one water Tower and be surrounded by nothing. And 40 years later, its full of huge houses everywhere. That's all I meant. Of course the old ones that weren't remodeled and renovated will benefit from a fire insurance rebuild. I just don't remember there being that many old houses up there to necessitate your original comment
As climate heats up fast, Thanks to Gov Schwarzenegger for NOT renewing wildfire contract with CO special wildfire air fleet planes & fire retardant. Newsom failed to rehire them too. So many areas in CA shall suffer like this.

So, how do you feel about that?
Right? Dummy down America
How terribly sad to lose one's home to fire. I'm so sorry. What caused the fire? Natural causes?
I grew up in Simi Valley, I remember that area really well , I lived in camarillo by Posas Rd
is sad to see those beautiful homes gone,
Mother nature...not
WTH, What started the fire????
An angry loser from last night?
They don't know yet. Still under investigation

Perhaps they have found something valuable underground again or perhaps it’s a future smart city
What are causes of these mountain fires? No One seems to speak about it.

The water has run out. No fire fighting capacity.

And very confusing for those of us who know the area and lived there. I grew up in the Las Posas Estates, and I cannot believe the houses are burning.
How did this start?
Horrible! What a WASTE!
Are the homeless going to clean it up?
Tax payers
How did these fires get started? Was it arson?
Thank you for the updated info!

Every yr those winds happen & fires happen. This is so sad. Sending prayers. Hope everyone got out safely & in time.

I am sorry for those old folks that lost their homes! Many of these house did not have insurance coverage
Firefighters have a lot of downtime. They should help clear brush instead of doing nothing at the firehouse.
