    Sweet stuff. Are we going to start seeing some missions with Cap in the RIO seat now?

      yes when I learn it

    I think there's no blind spot up and down, or a very narrow one because of the positioning of the antennas on the aircraft (2 of them on the tail planes). The downside is you loose bearing accuracy in turns because it looks like the RWR assumes your aircraft is level AND the antennae moves with your tail planes ^^ (ie in your video it still at 12 o'clock but you have already turned more than 30°) or even get splitted contact (once again, shown in the video, you see the grisha and the 6 repeated twice at different angle. The "good" bearing should be somewhere between the two of them). It's merely speculations, but it could explain the difference in regards of modern RWR pods where all antennas are concentrated in a small array, with finer azimut and signal processing capabilities but an effective blind spot up and down.

    Hi!
    How did you know the time to dodge incoming missiles?
    Could the RWR be used to judge the distance of missile?

    • @grimreapers
      @grimreapers  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Only very very roughly I think

      Grim Reapers
      How to judge the distance or time to action? I guess when the M symbol touch the most inner ring in RWR??

      @@saitoichi it doesnt show range at all, so the M wont go to the inner circle. The circles just show (from outer to inner) the possible lethality of a thread. so the outer circle is targets that have locked you up, the medium circle is targets that are scanning you and CAN lock you up, the inner circle is targets that can not be lethal to your aircraft.
      As for the timing to dodge incoming missles, he just knew how far away it was and used his personal experience to know when to notch/beam it.

      also only actively radar guided missles, aka FOX 3 missles are shown as a M, while every other radar guided missle ( semi active) is guide by the plane that is shooting them, so you only see the RWR detection of that plane.

      THX!
      In the F-16's RWR is inverted,so somepeople would apply max G to dodge the missile when M is coming to innering.

    Is possible to turn RWR off/on as Pilot? (for mulyiplayer, with Jester) there are times U see it off without I gave to Jester any command (even with Go Silence it turns off)

      Yes, right console at the front.
      Personally I don’t see any point in being an RIO in game. When does a pilot ever realistically jump to the back of the plane during mid flight?

      @@pedrohicken3884 not the audio. The RWR system. It was buggy and it turned off sometimes, no sense moments. Btw it has no more that problem
