One thing I will say. It is very likely that the "Possible" in "Possible partnership" is likely TFB just covering their bases. Like, hypothetically their odds of landing a contract with Microsoft is 95%, but there'd still be that 5% chance that the deal falls through whether that be TFB asking for too much money, or Microsoft wanting TFB to cut corners by outsourcing to cheap labor.
In my opinion it would be great, at least for me, if Toys for Bob would first release a remake of Spyro A Hero's Tail and then they would have more time to create Spyro 4 and then release it !

There's something really important to think about. Like REALLY important. That new game that is already in development, was probably financed with Xbox/Activision moneys. That means that tecnically, that's an Xbox owned game, i think. Like they cant take the money and run, the game was under a contract.
This isn't a surprising answer, companies do this all the time, depending on the company really, for Microsoft's case, as CGE said in the video they worked with an Indie studio to bring back Battletoads so it's not like it's out of the question, also as soon as that post of Toys For Bob saying they are going indie and outright saying they are going to be collaborating with Microsoft in the future on top of the wording that teased a certain purple dragon it's likely they are still full steam ahead on making Spyro 4 like they never left, not to mention being free of being an underling to a big company can bring a bit more safety to TFB as to avoid being part of the usual layoffs and studio closures that have been happening in the industry as of late is always a win. Plus I think they will be fine and considering the contract process that TFB is under, Microsoft is the middle man between TFB and Activision which is a good thing considering their alleged bad blood between them and Activision executives in the past.
Yeah but see here's my concern. Even if Toys for Bob develops a new Spyro game as an independent developer, would Microsoft still mandate that the new game is exclusive to their platform? I would honestly hope that Microsoft would not do that. I would hope they would do a timed exclusivity on thing the Xbox for a year like they did with Rise of the Tomb Raider, but nothing more beyond that. I still play my Crash and Spyro games on PlayStation and I don't particularly have any interest in switching platforms because of who owns the rights of a particular IP
It will be Xbox Exclusive. The real question is: for how much? Probably is either ever o 1+ years. Still, the game is going to be Gamepass day one, and probably also on the Cloud, wich is awesome.
@@ricln5464 If it's a timed exclusive, I don't care that much. That's more or less what I would expect from Microsoft even though it kinda sucks. I would have a much bigger problem with them if they made it permanently exclusive to Xbox because Microsoft has absolutely no business owning the Crash and Spyro IPs
@@ricln5464 I would feel much more comfortable if a company like THQ Nordic owned Crash and Spyro. They tend to make pretty good games, but really any 3rd party developer should be the ones that own those franchises
@@ttewelow1 Oh that's a way to see it. But they are extremely pricy (since you need to buy Activision as a whole). The alternative to Xbox was probably Amazon, Google or Tencent. They are WAY worse. Still, the future of gaming is in the Cloud. So is nice that they are owned by a Company that will be a main actor in the Cloud Gaming market. And all their games are going to gamepass too
I'm surprised no one is talking about this. Microsoft would have to seek collaboration with Toys for Bob for a new Spyro game in order for that development team to begin the operation. It kind of depends on your stance with Microsoft so far with their current IPs and their status now.
No, since they laid of bunch of staff and it took 3 studios to finish Reignited. Plus Activision wouldn't trust their IP with a small third party developer.
If we are talking from a legal standpoint, while I am not an authority on the matter I do know a little about it. I believe, and don't quote me on this in case I am wrong and if anyone can shed some more light on it and correct me be my guest, that is TfB had the rights to create a "Spyro 4" game before going indie they would retain those rights for the term set in the contract which they no doubt had to sign. As such so long as they are actively trying to make a new Spyro game they have every right to do so, so long as they adhere to the terms set forth by Activision and they don't abandon or cancel the project. Again I believe this is the case, it may well not be. If the debate is whether or not they can with a much smaller team and all working from home, well it remains to be seen, but we have seen some pretty stellar games come from smaller teams working from home with little to no budget to speak of so there is no reason to doubt a still reasonably sized studio with a fairly high benchmark for quality like TfB, the occasional dud not withstanding.
Okay, we know that they can do it, but there is another side to it. Will they have the budget to do it now that they are indie? Doing Spyro with its big worlds seems like a way bigger thing than for example Crash game
Spyro still in Activision, not Xbox. Xbox owns them not fully comtrol franchise. I don't trush the way reference waiting years later like never happened
They also said: "We can't wait to share updates on our *new adventure* as an indie studio". Never underestimate the possibility that Toys for Bob's next project is a new IP just because you read: "Horns".
at this point I've given up on Spyro 4. I'm giving it til the end of 2025. if spyro 4 isn't even announced or hinted at by the developers, then goodbye spyro, unfortunately.
💀🐎 It's time to put down the stick. This doesn't need to exist. If people can't figure something so obvious out for themselves they deserve to be in the dark.
Wow, Microsoft actually had to seek help from a third-party developer to make the new Battletoads? I didn't know that. Rare really *is* dead... what good was Microsoft even buying them in the first place? :/
Rare has no interest in returning to old IPs and wants to continue work on new IPs, such as Sea of Thieves and Everwild. It's like what Edna Mode said: "I never look back, darling. It distracts me from the now."
I believe they will, it's kinda pointing to them making a Spyro 4 and it has been for several years. The acquisition of Activision from Microsoft shitbox is definitely fucking things up and no one's seems to care or even talks about it but anyway. Even all the talks you had with the head of TFB it's basically a small indication that's its been happening for a awhile without saying much but literally says everything. I can almost guarantee you it's happening.
Asobo studio makes flight sim and they are not a first party studio Insomniac made spider man for PlayStation and tgey were not first party Arrow head made Helldivers 2 although they are third party they worked on a PlayStation Ip Moon studios made ori, ori ip is xbox’s and moon studio is a indie ip. So of course toys for bob can continue to make crash and Spyro.
Theoretically? Yes, Toys for Bob could continue to work on Spyro 4 because 5 bucks says they were working on Spyro 4 beforehand. Now is it the likely to happen? Hell probably has a better chance of being flooded with apple juice or Todd Howard would finally admit that Fallout New Vegas is better than Fallout 3 and 4 then Toys for Bob continuing to work on Spyro 4.
I lost mine the moment Microsoft announced they were buying Activision in the first place. Their ruination of Rare showed that being bought by them is the kiss of death for game studios. Toys For Bob got off lucky.

But ppl still want cynder to return in spyro 4.. y’all want parts of the game but nothing else. and if that happens before legend remake me and others will be pissed bcs then they will probably fk up the whole legend canon story. thats why a remake is important before any new spyro games, at least if they gonna bring some legend characters in the new games. Otherwise they should give the ip to someone who actually CARES. If u think a remake would make bad money then youre WRONG bcs they can only improve and make the game better and fix the combat.
I still think that people are too hopeful simply because Microsoft has a history of screwing over a-lot of their older IPS and just not caring about the ones they do recently acquire. Microsoft could easily compete with alot of first party titles if they actually cared to try it without even acquiring more studios. I wouldn't put any stock in any kind of contract that a third-party studio would work out with them for any of them and i will be skeptical that it's a spyro 4 game. Banjo Kazooie And Conker are testimants to just how little microsoft cares about them, then you have the fiasco that was Halo Infinite too. What happened to gears of war? They have a mountain of dead intellectual properties. They Killed the Killer Instinct franchise. even if a spyro game does come out with everything that has happened I do not have high hopes, I imagine tight constraints in the contract.
I agree on some of the things you said. I find that most of the time, Microsoft only cares about IPs that generate them a lot of money, I.E. Minecraft, CoD, and now probably World of Warcraft. Even if that’s the case, Phil had to have seen that Spyro sold 10Mil copies worldwide so I have at least some hope that they’re not going to say “ya **** you we’re just going to put this IP in the dumpster”. I don’t really care if it’s a little different than Spyro 3, as long as it’s some continuation from the original 3, I’d buy it I a heartbeat. I really want to see a game where we have the original characters all together fighting a major threat (minus Agent 9 because HE DOESN’T SHUT UP). If it’s a remake of Enter the Dragonfly, then ya, I’m done.

@@ttewelow1 "Microsoft has no business owning Crash and Spyro"
I mean, who does? Lol. They bought them, they own them.
If Activision still owns Spyro, then it's not likely.
Xbox/Microsoft OWNS Spyro.
Or can Toys for Bob mane a Banjo-Kazooie and Tooie remastered and maybe Banjo-Threeie
a lot of us on xbox was hoping this studio aswell as beenox would of been making the spyro crash and banjo games.
Thank you for the great video CGE!😄💜
Yes, but can they make it so that it’s not brutally difficult?
Lets hope Microsoft is more sensible than EA, already commented on this somewhere, but don’t let this become another American mcgee’s Alice
Maybe if they could make Sly Cooper remaster
Okay, we know that they can do it, but there is another side to it. Will they have the budget to do it now that they are indie? Doing Spyro with its big worlds seems like a way bigger thing than for example Crash game
No they dont. That Is why the publisher (xbox) Will pay for the development, like any 2nd party stuff
Quick! Someone tell Raven they can go indie and get out of the Call of Duty mines!
The quote "hold your horns, here comes Spyro!" potentially has a new meaning.
Cпайро 4 пал жертвой капитализма... Однажды жадность погубит человечество.
I have played Spyro since I was 4 I want spyro 4 I loved the new spyro
Spyro still in Activision, not Xbox. Xbox owns them not fully comtrol franchise. I don't trush the way reference waiting years later like never happened
Please let it be true. All what you said.
You gotta Believee hehe
Bring skylanders back after spyro 4, please? Because I want it so bad😭😭😭😭
They also said: "We can't wait to share updates on our *new adventure* as an indie studio".
Never underestimate the possibility that Toys for Bob's next project is a new IP just because you read: "Horns".
Does anyone remember the game Pandemonium from the playstation 1 era?
Even if Toys For Bob do the developing, will Activision still do the publishing?
Probably not at this point. Is going to be published by Xbox (under the Xbox Game Studios Publishing)
They can get a license from Microsoft to do this
Only with a 2nd party deal, they dont have the money for a license
at this point I've given up on Spyro 4.
You gotta believe
Yes, end of video
Wow, Microsoft actually had to seek help from a third-party developer to make the new Battletoads? I didn't know that. Rare really *is* dead... what good was Microsoft even buying them in the first place? :/
Rare has no interest in returning to old IPs and wants to continue work on new IPs, such as Sea of Thieves and Everwild.
It's like what Edna Mode said: "I never look back, darling. It distracts me from the now."
Hopes for crash team rumble maybe???
I hopes its skylanders 7
I believe they will, it's kinda pointing to them making a Spyro 4 and it has been for several years. The acquisition of Activision from Microsoft shitbox is definitely fucking things up and no one's seems to care or even talks about it but anyway. Even all the talks you had with the head of TFB it's basically a small indication that's its been happening for a awhile without saying much but literally says everything. I can almost guarantee you it's happening.
Will Toys For Bob Remaster DreamWork's Madagascar someday?
Very unlikely, but that was a fun game!
Yeah, you can get a 2D side scroller mobile game. lol
Probably just waiting for a new console 😅
Skylanders spyro and crash they are ok
I think you're right!😢
LETS GOOOO NEW CGE VIDEO
This endless speculation is killing me im so close to giving up
Asobo studio makes flight sim and they are not a first party studio
Insomniac made spider man for PlayStation and tgey were not first party
Arrow head made Helldivers 2 although they are third party they worked on a PlayStation Ip
Moon studios made ori, ori ip is xbox’s and moon studio is a indie ip.
So of course toys for bob can continue to make crash and Spyro.
Insomniac is 1st Party. Sony just bought them not too long ago.
I wonder what this means for the future of Skylanders as well?
Theoretically? Yes, Toys for Bob could continue to work on Spyro 4 because 5 bucks says they were working on Spyro 4 beforehand. Now is it the likely to happen? Hell probably has a better chance of being flooded with apple juice or Todd Howard would finally admit that Fallout New Vegas is better than Fallout 3 and 4 then Toys for Bob continuing to work on Spyro 4.
Why do you say that?.
I have completely lost hope for Spyro 4😢
Well don’t.
I lost mine the moment Microsoft announced they were buying Activision in the first place. Their ruination of Rare showed that being bought by them is the kiss of death for game studios. Toys For Bob got off lucky.
@@googamp32 Just be optimistic for once for God’s sake.
@@googamp32 I suppose you forgot that when they acquired Minecraft, it remained available on other consoles. Microsoft is not the same company it was when they acquired Rare. 😂
@@googamp32 Just be optimistic for once.
Thay cant toys for bob is now stuck to working on cod
another channel happily contradicting its own direct statements back to back.
Will Crash Team rumble get revived by Toys for bob? Anyways it's my birthday Today!🎂🥳
That would defeat the purpose of ending the support to the game
@crashtefano well Toys for Bob wanted to do more with Rumble but because of the layoffs they has no choice but stop supporting it
If they can't it's good news for me, personally. I've never liked their work on either Crash or Spyro. I didn't like Reignited or Crash 4. Neither really felt tonally accurate to me. They were too cute and bouncy for the most part, but I do feel bad for everybody who enjoyed those games and wanted to see more.
ENOUGH with the lame ass Fortnite advertisements!! I just want to watch the video!
You mean legend of spyro remake? Bcs STOP talking about what you want all the time. You got your remake, now its our turn.
They ain't paying money for a remake of a game series the majority of fans hated. 😅
What a passive aggressive comment haha its not the remake he wanted it was the remake we all wanted besides the next game will most likely not be a remake it'll be a brand new game... yanno spyro 4?
majority where? majority of the comments of og spyro fans platforms like canadian guy? he and his fans are not the majority. also all spyro fans should have a say in this not just some of yall. also i think its so weird how such a good story, soundtracks and characters goes to waste bcs ppl are ungreatful and have bad taste. if u dont like legend of spyro sure, but yall have no right to always speak over legend fans., whats why i dont like u ppl
@@harley202
passsive aggressive?? say you guys who always try to speak for the whole fandom.@@harley202
@nicokitty5522 you do understand the term right? That doesn't even make sense. 😅
The community don't need someone to speak for them as they themselves endlessly posted back then they wanted a remake for spyro 1 to 3 and as soon as that was done all you saw was spyro 4 questions everywhere not legends.
I understand you like it but the majority of the community have never liked it, all it takes is a quick youtube search or Google to see how much the legends series wasn't very well liked. 😅
@@harley202 it was liked just not by you people. Yes y’all do speak over others. Everytime. just bcs its not as popular doesnt mean it doesnt have a big fanbase. A fanbase that og spyro fans have 0 respect for at all. there was supposed to be a legend movie years ago that didnt happen. you think they would make that movie if the games didnt have a fanbase? the only bad thing ive heard about the games is the combat and nothing else, something they can easly fix. the story, soundtrack and characters are soo good and y’all wanna waste it to never be seen again, thats selfish.
Toys for Bob isn't a Independent Developer as they're owned by MICROSOFT.
Well some of us, myself included, feel that people like you aren’t being hopeful enough.
After this year & no new Spyro game I will stop searching & building their hype engagement + views so TFB will lose more popularity. I will take it as they don't respect their supporters by at least clearly announce what they're working on - Spyro 4. Why can't they tell us but instead can only give us annoying hints as if they will get in trouble for sharing news. God of War & other game developers announce instead of playing teasing games with their fans. I don't understand this unnecessary teasing smh
As long as Sweet Baby Inc doesn’t get involved
I don't think that would be a problem, as companies would have to approach them. Activision isn't one of them, as war stories are not something that Sweet Baby would like to work with, and Catbat was created without their involvement.
Crash 4 & crash rumble are terrible.
