“Repugnant is a creature who would squander the ability to lift an eye to Heaven, conscious of his fleeting time here”……are you kidding me!? Who writes such masterful stuff? Unbelievable verse.
I am not religious; I am spiritual. This song brings out emotions I never knew I had. "Imagine being side by side and you're divided" Great quote my man.
Im 99% convinced Mole grips Maynard does soooo much research into how to fuck up a monkey with anxiety with 💀MUSIC cause you cannae listen to any of his shit without fully emoting lol
Maynard has said that while he's not "religious" he acknowledged we must believe in a higher power, regardless of whether it exists, because statistically speaking we become "mundane and feckless". Maynard obviously had a really bad experience with his mom's religion which disregarded her after her illness, but even he realizes if we stray from a higher power we just disintegrate ourselves. Very true and very interesting stuff.
@@BabatundeSchmidt yeah man. Watching you connect with TOOL's music and lyrics while also bringing your own energy and emotion is a trip! Keep it up. 🤘
TOOL has been the soundtrack of my life since 1992. They are their own genre. When he says, "where there's one, they're bound to divide it right in two," I believe he's saying that humans will fight over anything and attempt to get their share of it. Where there is one of anything, we will attempt to divide it, "Right in Two." Spiral out. Keep going
Brother. You’ve turned this nearly 40 year old die hard Tool fan into a Born Again Tool Fan! Your experiencing this is like me experiencing it for the first time all over again. I feel like I’m right with you jamming out.
💯 my reaction ten years ago. 💯 reaction ten seconds ago. Right in Two makes me freak! Angels giving God the side-eye, like, really? So true! When you do Parabol/Parabola, absolutely no pausing in the middle. They go together. Let them ride and wash over you.
Try Vicarious now, it's another song about the worst side of human nature, how we are drawn to the most violent or tragic stories in the news etc and want to see others suffer as long as it's not us doing the suffering! The music is so hard driving on that one too! And their song Descending is just a trip to another plane, showing us we need to help this planet before it's too late. That's my take on it anyway.
The cool down at the end always brings to mind the quote, “I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.”
One of my favorite Tool tracks. You’re just scratching……bro! It’s exciting to discover new, older music and artists!! Keep going…….lots to hear yet. Please for the love of God, give “Rosetta Stoned” (listen to “Lost Keys” just before it) off this same 10,000 Days album, a listen. Brilliant artists who provoke us to think and ponder just wtf life means on so many levels. Be good, man! Love the heart felt reactions and your exuberance! P.S. Off their latest album, “Invincible” is one of the greatest endings ever. The lyrics are unbelievable, too. Just wait for it……..
The very first lines of the song "Angels on the sideline, puzzeled and amused" struggling with their father's decision with proving humans (monkeys) free will "Now they're all confused". Angel's noting "How they survived so misguded is a mystery" And how they find us a repugnant species, as they are stranded on the sidelines "Wondering where this tug of war will end" Brilliant!!!
This is a song I've been familiar with since the day they dropped the album. And of course I love this song. But it was your reaction and your enthusiasm that gave me goosebumps. Loved it!
I love the lyrics on this one, as well. Like you said, angles saying "now, God? Surely now is the time to step in and do something with all the pathetic and horrible things humans are doing? No? Ok, well, we'll ask God later I guess." Also, after you listen to at least a few more Tool songs, I highly recommend their song 'Third Eye'. If you thought Lateralus was a psychedelic experience, then that one will blow you away.
Might’ve been the greatest reaction I’ve ever seen, you fucking get it dude. So amazing to see you vibin with the African drum sound to blasting out with the guitars.!!!!! Amazing man
Tool takes us on a journey through the entire human condition with their music and lyrics and this song aims right at the heart of our worst traits. Silly monkeys indeed. "Vicarious" is another not-so-flattering take on humanity but it's an incredible song anyway!
iv never seen one of your reactions but you bring a fresh breath onto the reaction game bruv. your genuine excitement when u understand one of their bars is so refreshing bruv! keep it going my boy! people feed off of your energy!!
This is the greatest most on point reactions I have ever seen.......it got inside you, and all of the little accents stood out to you, you truly got what they were trying to say, awesome brother, I subbed and liked....more more more
Would LOVE to see one or both of your parents' Reaction to this song. The way you went off about the instrumental break made me think of how so many younger people are so focused on vocalists, words, and lyrics in music. There's so much more to music than just that. 🔥🌀
OK - To my guy who actually broke a sweat doing a TOOL reaction, I give you this. Listen to Intermission & Jimmy. Then switch to Pusifer's Judith. Complete this review with Wings for Marie 1 & 2. This is about how Maynard saw his mother's faith. 10,000 days (Wings for Marie 2) is his mother's passing and him seeing how important her faith was. Hint - You better bring something to bite down on. It is going to hurt beautifully. Love it! Welcome to the rabbit hole of TOOL!
F&ck! You had me in tears. After listening to this over hundreds of times in the past the build up never gets old...masters...once in a lifetime band. Lock me up in a room with 100 speakers!
Interesting background - this album was written after Maynard James Keenan's mother passed away. She suffered from a brain hemorrhage and was bedridden for some 27 years (hence 10,000 days). Her religious devotion is weaved throughout the songs on this collection. The way her congregation abandoned her inspired the title song. The prelude song "Intension" that introduces "Right in Two" is mostly instrumental but I think your ear is sophisticated enough to appreciate it. Brilliant take, loved watching this reaction vid.
When I first heard the song I definitely got the image of angels screaming and pleading with God to Destroy us humans. God has not given them the order, because they have no free will, they can not act. They are forced to watch and sit on the sidelines. Watching Humanity as it destroys itself and the Earth that it was blessed with.
There’s plenty to eat, plenty to drink, & plenty of land for every family to farm for themselves & their neighbors. If “billionaire philanthropists” really cared about “common people”, they’d invest in the technologies we’ve had for decades that could fix these “problems.” Just a few SIMPLE examples: Greenhouse Grocery Stores, Dew Net Hydration Catchment, & Cold Hardy Tropical Plants. Are we ever gonna “get” these? We literally have to build this stuff independently of the system, because they clearly only care about themselves, while encouraging us to hate eachother. ♥️🕊️🙏
Like your energy, very entertaining. You really need to check out the video to this. It’s a modern iteration of biblical themes. It’s trippy as are all Tool trips
not entirely sure they meant it, but right in two, may also be eluding to splitting the atom. Nuclear age and all that. Not that it would mean that directly, but I just think it's cool that Maynard can write lyrics that have so many different meanings. Master lyricist for sure.
Id love to hear some recommendations of music that Tool comes close to, something of the "source" you speak of. Something close to the primal sounds that Tool encaptures that draws us all to our roots.
The religious references are always the focus, obviously. But I have yet to hear anyone make note of the "talking monkeys" and how Darwinism and creationism coexist side-by-side in this masterpiece. Genius lyrics, as always.
Not just the Europeans colonizing America, but the horrible reality that this has been human nature for thousands of years. 46 and 2 is a song about evolution from our current way of being. Vicarious is a song about our dependence on violence in our media. Third Eye is about seeing past all that and thinking about things differently.
Yes great and some would say its a spiritual battle rather than political or rather its just another tool 🤨🤣 either way thats why TOOL is the best gonna check out your other TOOL reactions now bravo 👏🌀🔥🔧💗
“Repugnant is a creature who would squander the ability to lift an eye to Heaven, conscious of his fleeting time here”……are you kidding me!? Who writes such masterful stuff? Unbelievable verse.
Agreed.
Maynard James Keenan. Artist. Poet. Genius.
Jimmy absolutely destroys me.
Maynard's poetry should be in the Smithsonian.
Ok… this is how i NEED EVERY SINGLE HUMAN to react to this song.
Yes sir. Yes. 🙌🏼 ❤
Best song line ever. Makes me cry every time.
This reaction is the reason people watch reactions.
Thanks bro
I was just thinking this!
It's so good to see other people realize how great tool is. Loved the video man
A track that is at least 20 years old described as fresh. Yes, that is Tool.
I am not religious; I am spiritual. This song brings out emotions I never knew I had. "Imagine being side by side and you're divided" Great quote my man.

"It's just so close to the source." ~ thanks for giving me the new way I'm going to describe Tool. Thanks for your open and honest reactions ❤
After your last TOOL video I was HOPING Right in Two would be your next song. Perfect, can't wait to watch your reaction!
Hope you enjoyed it!

This is how TOOL hit me too. No other band will ever compare for me.
Brother. You’ve turned this nearly 40 year old die hard Tool fan into a Born Again Tool Fan!
Your experiencing this is like me experiencing it for the first time all over again. I feel like I’m right with you jamming out.
Nice!!
Moi Aussi 🎉
Same!
Seriously! I am 40 as well and this guy is breaking it down exactly how Tool has made me feel. I love this man!
i have heard TOOL thousands of times and never do their songs ever get old. so many layers.
You gave a deeper, more meaningful reaction than most other reactors of tool. Your joy is so positive man.
Jambi!
Btw glad you're enjoying the tool trip! Always dope to see new fans come through, explore, expand and rock out to Tool. Spiral out!
They opened with Jambi back on 10/6/2023, and my hands flew so fast to my face in awe.
Damn near wept.
Awww I love your reactions. Someone that gets it makes the people of the tool army very happy. Your soul is pure and clean and it shows.

17:52 I NEED TO CONGRATULATE THEM, INNIT!? Haha, love it. Any of you guys know how to turn a youtube clip into a ringtone??? Lmao.
😂😂
Bro, where are you? Your Tool reactions are incredible. We need more... you've only scratched the surface
Makes me cry of sadness and joy every time I listen to this song. ❤
And THAT, ladies and gentlemen, is how you react to TOOL! 🤟♥

Very cool reaction!!!! I personally think Maynard is the greatest lyricist i have ever experienced!
I think I just witnessed the birth of a new solider in our beloved Tool Army. Fuck yes brother, fuck yes 🌀🤘
Best band in our land
Might’ve been the greatest reaction I’ve ever seen, you fucking get it dude. So amazing to see you vibin with the African drum sound to blasting out with the guitars.!!!!! Amazing man
Loving watching your discovery of TOOL. 👌
So nice to experience people experiencing tool. A vicarious way to recapture the rapture that is hearing a Tool track for the first time!
Hahaha you really worked up a sweat! Awesome dude, keep enjoying tool
This one made my day! You are awesome man! I love spiritual Maynard but angry Maynard is top shelf as well.
Thank you for this reaction. Made me feel like I was listening to it for the first time again
I have to watch all these reaction videos! I cry when I see these! Big bro hug!
Tool can take you to another dimension through a wormhole in space, and also put your ass on earth's surface in tribal times.
Hey, just wanted to thank you for making me laugh and smile on a really rough day today.
Glad you enjoyed it. Take care of yourself bro 👍
Just discovered your channel tonight and after seeing the first couple TOOL reactions you did, I am beyond excited to check this one out. ,🌀♾️🌀
I appreciate your enthusiasm. Very warranted.
Tool takes us on a journey through the entire human condition with their music and lyrics and this song aims right at the heart of our worst traits. Silly monkeys indeed. "Vicarious" is another not-so-flattering take on humanity but it's an incredible song anyway!
Agree with above posts.
Vicarious next!
Love your passion man!

The mental movie through music 🎶 tool 🔧
your reaction is infectious reminds me of when i discovered them and blown away isnt even a proper definition. it jus connects and slaps hard

Interesting, I might try something like that.
YOU GOTTA WATCH A COVER OF THIS!
if you like this song see what Beard of Harmony did with it.
Guys we all need to congratulate them! ……👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Also…..🌀
Edit: also, I love ur reactions!
Now it's s time for either 46&2 or Vicarious.
This might be the best and most appropriate red top to this EPIC song 🔥🤘🏼😂🌀
i love the energy

THIS GUY GETS IT !!!😉
Epic painting of music. And loving Maynard's desert dry humor.

Intensions lyrics are amazing and tell an important message
Even if you ain't religious or spiritual, this song is still heavy.
Do you see what you've done Tool? You're making my man listen to K-Pop 😂
😂

Ok, subscribed. Lol
Lateralus is more like the middle… the real deep end would be Rosetta Stoned or Triad
Like your energy, very entertaining. You really need to check out the video to this. It’s a modern iteration of biblical themes. It’s trippy as are all Tool trips

That ending be like: oh so I heard you enjoyed the message. We also have a hugely powerful band to back it up. re: that 2 minutes of ecstasy. hahahaha
Best band in ta world listen
I believe Danny Carey, the drummer, traveled to Africa to study percussion at some point, and incorporates what he learned into songs like this.
Id love to hear some recommendations of music that Tool comes close to, something of the "source" you speak of. Something close to the primal sounds that Tool encaptures that draws us all to our roots.
Let me apologize for not being able to give this reaction 2 thumbs up. 🤘🏼
Awesome review fella🔥
Much appreciated

Pretty sure those are the Tabla Drums. They sound incredible
just wait until you hear Ne Obliviscaris - and plague flowers the kaleidoscope. they are really good, and prog metal.
if you liked the message of this song i suggest a reaction of the Carl Sagan pale blue dot speech, higly raccomend
This man needs more views.
13:36 Most reactors: “These drums sound so African, such a tribal feel!”
African reactor: “These drums sound so Asian, maybe middle eastern!”
Man you got took and you took me too.
🤘🏻🌀
Nice
Pieces of the ground to me meant gold diamonds but land fits also
Lost keys & Rosetta Stoned in one video next.
Lipan Conjuring!
You should check out Lipan Conjouring, Lost Keys, and Rosetta Stoned from this album together.
Definitely
Love that you put all 3 together johnnyb.
Wait till you hit pneuma and Invincible. Vicarious as well.
Lol, I love your energy :D
This is interesting considering the Gaden of Aden (Garden of Eden) is in Africa
Not just the Europeans colonizing America, but the horrible reality that this has been human nature for thousands of years. 46 and 2 is a song about evolution from our current way of being.
