Absolutely love the texture you achieve! The second piece tells the story of beloved items that were stored in grandmothers Hope chest. Remnants of a favorite book and pieces of clothing she wore on special days. When touching and looking at these things I can hear her voice and smell the lavender perfume she wore 💕

Just found your channel and now I must go back and binge watch to see what I have missed!! New subscriber! Whatever you are used to saying, then just say it. I think sometimes when we first watch someone they might say something often that is annoying to us. I don't mind admitting my faults: example, I watched a video where everything was "so stinkin cute!" I have heard some use that quite a bit. At first it bugged me but I loved what she was doing and I kept watching and now it doesn't bother me at all and I enjoy the videos. So whatever people have a habit of saying then go for it. Yummy is a fine word! Those who love what you do will enjoy the videos!

I am new to painting, but do a lot of stitching and would like to combine my watercolor and stitching. Would I still use Gesso? That seems a bit heavy for watercolor.

Facebook is not allowing me to do a blue thumbs up on your video. I would be #8 so I'm sure I'm not the only one. I love your natural expression of "yummy". It is you and how you express your delight. It says so much with one simple word. It makes my creative side drool over the pieces I'm looking at. So keep it up. One should never be told how to use/express their feelings, especially if they are complimentary.
The 1st piece: I behold the darkness of night and the light peeking through the background (which is amazing)!
The cocoons have holes where wings are emerging and the broken pieces of an adult butterfly symbolizes the life cycle. The ragged edges symbolize the rawness of life but within that rawness is extreme beauty.
#2: I sense a story of a man/woman and his/her travels through life. The small to larger pieces of fabric represent suitcases which each carry it's own story of his/her life. The base white fabric represents the crispness and billowing delight of our own journeys.

What did I see represented in your creation? The first piece is the one that grabbed my attention. When I saw the picture (I saw it first in the following video) looking back at me was a cheerleader uniform top with a number on it and the butterfly was an Indian Chief's headdress. Call me crazy! A local high school came under fire last year for their mascot name, The Chief's, so I guess that's what brought out the feels. I'm the kind of artist that always sees faces or animals in different places so I'm not surprised I saw something that wasn't there. I've been binge watching your videos over the last couple of weeks because I just love, LOVE, your artwork! I don't know how I found your channel, but I'm so glad I did! I do have a suggestion; Tutorial Tuesday needs to happen so Filming Friday won't be so lonely! 💜🐭

Cat, love your work. I tea dye muslin then I put it in a flower pot in the fall that has fertilizer in it and then take it out in the spring and it will have lots of holes in it and it looks yummy. Make sure it is wet. Leave it in the snow or rain. Try it.

The 1st collage reminds of the stories or the great depression & the butterflies finding a way out of that dark time. The 2nd one fosters feelings from my days with my grandma, her crocheting, playing her organ piano & her so neat & feminine home.

Each piece tells a story... piece 22 reminds me of a quilt made with bits of clothing, linens, and even papers collected during the seamstresses lifetime, a collection of family memories. Or it might be a cherished collection of bits from a wedding. Thank you for sharing your process.

These two collage videos were great, Cat, as always. I will go out on a limb here and venture to say that the one on the book cover was especially YUMMY. As a journal maker, I think it would be beautiful as a cover, either outside or inside. And I suppose that if any of us don’t like the word “yummy”, we could mute the video and just watch it instead.
