Hello again Cat, I have a quick question for you. I've done those color transparencies a long time ago, like the beautiful woman on your cover, but wondering if you could down the road , do a tutorial on that process. I agree 110% with Don, she just had to be on the cover! Love her. Thanks, creative friend.
Caterina, This cover is simply lovely. I found you recently when searching YT for slow stitching. I used to embroidery from time to time but was curious about the words "slow stitch" as this term is new to me. I just had to subscribe and come along on your journey. This is something I will enjoy and become addicted to I'm sure. TYFS, Donna, in California.
Hi Caterina, I am loving your tutorial! You make mention in the beginning while showing your completed book of your tissue paper technique to stiffen fabric. Where might I find that tutorial? Thanks so much!
so perfect to see you make something that i've been mulling over in my mind.... the dark spots can also be obtained with very sporadic instant coffee... or walnut crystals
Me again...you also mentioned, that to stiffen the fabric pages, to use your tracing paper technique. I don't remember seeing that one. Can you tell me what tute that was in or any info? Sorry, I'm full of questions for you. You just get my mind working in overdrive!! Yeehawwww!
Hi Carol, thank you so much! Here is my transfer video. Follow this technique but substitute fabric. Make sure you have wax paper or freezer paper underneath the fabric as the gel medium will seep through. Leave it overnight to dry.. th-cam.com/video/6TM4T1s5lXI/w-d-xo.html
I love this slow stitch cover! Geat video content, relaxing! Can you please leave a still photo of the opened up cover front and back so I can capture a screen shot for studying afterwards? It would be most helpful. There was too much movement to catch a good shot this time. I will go to the group page and look.
Such a beautiful journal. Thank you for taking us through the steps. Is the Gel Matte medium the same or similar to Modge Podge? I wonder because of the rubbery texture each seems to leave your fabric or paper with. I have an old faux vintage book box that is becoming so brittle. Would this Gel Matte medium be advisable to use to keep it intact and free of further chipping?
Mod podge would work although it dries different than what she uses. Also it leaves a sheen even with a matte mod podge. I suppose it's according to what you want.
