    Isaiah 41:10
    Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
    This always helps me with fear. I like to keep things simple and to not worry about things that are outside of my control.

    The quieting of my fear comes from my faith in Christ. He who created me, forgives me and loves me removes all fear including the fear of death. Christ's love also enables me to love others. To me, this is the best antidote to fear. I pray for such assurance for you and your family also. I do enjoy your farming videos.

      I agree. I have absolutely NO fear of death, because I know that even when the time comes that my body is "dead," my soul will live eternally, because of my relationship with Jesus Christ.

    Pete, really enjoyed listening to your video. As a general rule, I usually don't spend time worrying about what other people tell me I should think or worry about in my life. Your rashanal, calm talk was, in my opinion, on spot. I am an old man now, with many years experience in life. A combat vet, Army officer, a retired lawman and I have always believed that good always wins. Keep doing what you are doing with your lovely family cause you are following the right track. God bless you.

    Greetings from the mountains of northern NH.
    Very introspective, Pete. When we slow our lives down enough to focus on the basic elements of survival, we find the answers to questions we couldn't even comprehend when we were trapped on the treadmill of life. When I subscribed, more than a year ago, I didn't expect this channel would become such a treasure. Well done, my friend! You are in a good place, and it is rubbing off on others.

    I just found your channel a few days ago. I don’t know where you stand on religion but I just wanted to comment. At age 30 I had a heart attack and these heart issues continued to present day. I am now 68 yrs. Old and I have never ever feared death because I know where I will be after death. This in no way says I don’t care if I live or die of course I want to be here with my wife and our children and grandchildren. But I don’t have fear of death. I do have fear for what the future looks like for my grandkids because the general morality is sinking so low

    It's human to fear, there's just no way around it. But, how we deal with the fear is what shapes us into the people we are.
    I heard a preacher teach on fear and it completely changed how I looked at it:
    F-- false
    E-- expectations
    A-- appearing
    R-- real
    Also, the Good Lord took care of us when He wrote in the Bible 365 scriptures telling us NOT to fear...that's a scripture for each day of the year!
    It's amazing how good God is!❤

      The Lord said in John 10:10 that the thief comes to steal, kill and destroy but He came that we might have abundant life. We are told several places to be on guard for our adversary goes around like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. 1st Peter 5:8. We are told in Ephesians 6 to put on the whole armor of God. Jesus won the war but we still fight battles, not against the Lord but against the enemy who is still loose in the world. God is not in control but He left us that responsibility. We have abdicated our duties.

    • @jimeburg4828
      @jimeburg4828 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jimbuford4147 God is in control of all things. He has allowed the people to go just so far before He intercedes. He did this to His own people the Israelites before He allowed an enemy to overtake them and placed them in captivity until they saw the light and repented. AGAIN AND AGAIN He forgave them, but He is still has control of them all of the time and didn't destroy them as He promised because they were His people.

    • @jimbuford4147
      @jimbuford4147 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jimeburg4828 So to follow your logic people who die and go to hell go there because God wants them to? If, as you say, he controls all things he controls their wills as well as their actions. By the way, God purposed the Israelites to go astray because as you say He is in control. If God is in control He is in control of everything. My contention is God wants all of us to follow Him but He allows us free will and we ultimately do as we will. Adam and Eve must have been intended to eat of the tree of the Knowledge of good and evil since they did do so. Why didn't God stop them since He controls everything? To be in control means God initiates and authors everything good or bad in a person's life.

    • @jimeburg4828
      @jimeburg4828 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jimbuford4147
      Let me start out by saying God allows us to do just about what we want to do, but he sets down the penalties or consequences to disobeying His laws or commands. People go to Hell because they refused to obey His commands not because God wanted them to go there. God has warned us in his Word that sin and disobedience of his commands will land us in hell if we don't repent. The Israelites chose to disobey and they paid the penalty God set down and allowed them to go into captivity until they saw the error of their ways and begged for forgiveness and out of His Love, Mercy and Grace He will forgive. Adam and Eve were told of the penalty or consequence of disobedience to God's warning but they went ahead and did it anyway. The Bible is given to us by God for instruction and guidance as to our behavior and the rules
      that He gives us. He does not purpose us to disobey but just as in our daily life there are laws and we must obey them or we pay the price or penalty for our own actions. Thank you for allowing to say this and God Bless and keep you and yours in this world that is full of disobedience to Him. We will pay the penalty for this sin.

    • @jimbuford4147
      @jimbuford4147 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jimeburg4828 I agree with this. But this is plainly not Him being in control. We set up rules for our kids and they either obey or disobey. We set the penalty for their disobedience but still they control their will. They decide, not us, as to what they will do. Your explanation is clearly opposed to the statement you have made that God is in control. If there is any control it is certainly not total control. Otherwise disobedience would not be an option.

I think you should be frightened of that, cause if your not, then the ones you leave behind will be the ones to suffer the most.
    Now, on to a less complicated matter, those roaches are getting braver and I was surprised you didn't say, "Run, Run, Run", the classic line. As you would say, "those piggers", their cute and funny too, makes me smile when I see them run. Loved the aerials of your place. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and life experiences. Have a great weekend!

    Your right... were living with dogmatic narrow minded folks in key positions of power abusing it on the regular. The ick that shall not be named highlights this beautifully... The world is not a kind place. Never had been.
    Thanks for sharing Pete

    Great video, Pete. I am a project manager, engineer, and farmer, but I listen to a plethora of different themed videos on TH-cam during my workweeks. You make some excellent points about fear. Your comment about "fear of the unknown" reminds me of a TedTalk I listened to by a gentleman named Daryl Davis. He makes the comment, "We fear those things we do not understand. If we do not keep that fear in check, that fear, in turn, will breed hatred, because we hate those things that frighten us. If we do not keep that hatred in check, that hatred, in turn, will breed destruction." I feel like that statement has become quite applicable as fears seem to increase in today's society.

    This is what is needed today…Pete you hit the nail on the head… fear is the worst enemy imho people can experience…we do not have enough examples of how to thwart fear… especially for the youth of our nation…all we need is “just a few examples” to change this epidemic…you sir may just threw the right size stone in the pond to start the ripple effect needed
    Please don’t stop making videos…you probably saved someone’s life with this one!
    Thank you

      Thank you Pete for your calm demeanor and wonderful logic and humor. What you speak of and how you view things in life is just like how I see and do things. I live in the country (far from the maddening crowds) and I love it that way. Yes, I too feel safe because of this. I am a nurse who has worked in a big medical center around people from all over the world. What a wonderful experience. Too many folks want instant gratification these days.
      Long ago people achieved great things without all the complications.
      Some where along my path I even schooled for carpentry so now I get to
      work on my farm house. Keep these words of wisdom and perspectives coming because many will and are learning.

    Appreciate your views on fear, having served our country for six years, a part of which was in a combat zone, you can learn very quickly how to deal with fear, no matter which form it comes in. Fear for your life, fear for health, or whatever causes you to focus your attention on a particular matter, I've found that in most cases, most any fear can be overcome by applying just good old common sense to it. I had a lot of fear at first when I served but as time went on you can learn how to control it to the point where it's not fear anymore.

    Very wise words and I agree completely. When you stop taking chances and making changes you are no longer living you are just a nuisance to the rest of the world. The rule I live by is "the only thing that never changes is everything will always change".
