Greetings from Columbus , Ohio , home of The Ohio State University and it's amazing marching band TBDBITL ...The Best Damn Band In The Land ! As an alum of OSU , I've had friends and family that were members ... these kids work as hard as the athletes ! All are full time students who learn a new routine for each home game ... they're really part of the football family. Many go on to become part of the alumni band who gather from all over the country once each football season to renew friendships and play again ! Go Bucks !
Ryan, we have a saying over here that has a baseball reference. If a performance really exceptional, whether athletic or entertainment, some will use a baseball reference by saying< "They knocked it out of the park!"
You would probably like the Weird Al version of MJ music - Fat (Bad) and Eat It (Beat It). There are side-by-side versions of Weird Al and Michael that show the incredible talent of both guys.
Kudos to the band instructor is more like it...i was in a marching band and it wasn't hard at all...just practice. But the instructor is the one that has to visualize every single step and position to make all the moving parts work in sync so you can see the it all from above.

Likely repeating myself, but it bears repeating: Best Damn Band in the Land! (I'm likely biased as well, lived here the whole 57 + years of my life ;)
