Imagine these students do these extremely difficult marching routines while playing their instruments and carry a full term of college classes. Unbelievable talent and dedication.
They are artists who start learning in grade school. By high school, ages 13-17, they start competing at state level, and by The time they got to college they're ready for master classes. You're seeing the result of years of effort

Yes ,they came to London about 5 years ago to play halftime at a NFL Game
There were only 100,000 in attendance that day.
Incredible show and reaction. Their Hollywood Blockbusters show is equally impressive. Ohio State’s band is called The Best Damn Band In The Land for good reason. Other bands with different styles have some amazing performances. Texas A & M famous for intricate patterns and Southern University for stylized routines. Watch Southern Univetsity at LSU halftime from 2 years ago. Also a Michael Jackson tribute where the bandsmen actually dance.

The Ohio State University marching band is generally considered the best marching band in the US. They do amazing performances like this at home football games with a different theme. Tom Cruise was so blown away by how incredible theirTop Gun tribute was in the fall of 2021 that he hosted the band at a private screening of Top Gun Maverick in spring of 2022.
Btw...the band did an NFL game in Wembley (London)a few years ago. Top notch like all the rest.
If you really want to see the precision & skill of the Ohio State band, is to watch them do Script Ohio. It’s been a tradition for like 80 yrs.. it’s also tradition that for each game, a senior sousaphone (tuba) player is picked to dot the i… it’s a huge honor…watch the 10 minute version, it also shows their entrance to the stadium.. you’ll hear 100,000 people cheering for a band

Ohio State grad here... The Best Band In The Land.... the things they pull off on field is amazing. The amount of work that these kids put in during the summer, etc. is massive. Go Bucks!
You should definitely take a look at more of their routines as a longtime resident of OHIO they do not disappoint as you see for yourselves. Ohio State University has by far the best marching band in the states, in my opinion. Can't wait to see more videos of them on your channel. Go Buckeyes!

I'm a Buckeye through and through (I'm 70 so been a LONG time) - when you are born in Ohio - it's just in your blood. This is THE BEST DAMN BAND IN THE LAND (TBDBTL)...and certainly are the Pride of the Buckeyes and the State of Ohio. We love our OSU Buckeyes! GO BUCKS!! O - H . . .

Also . . . NO it's NOT months....in fact it is a brand new show for every home game!! So next week if it's another game at OSU Stadium it's another new halftime show just as good as this one!! Believe it or not - our high school bands do this also!!! Not the extent of this amazing OSU band - but many high school band members aspire to be in the OSU Marching Band - most of these students are majoring in Music and will become band directors across the country!!! Pretty awesome if you ask me!!
My high school band director was in the OSU Marching Band playing trumpet when he went to College!
The UK's Black Watch does a very impressive concert and marching. There is also some contest every year in Scotland between military bands from various countries. If you make it to Washington DC, the US Marine Band and Silent Drill team put on an amazing concert and parade every Tuesday evening at sunset. From Memorial Day, 27 May 2024, until Labor Day, 02 September 2024, they perform at the US Marine War Memorial, overlooking Washington DC. Bring a blanket or folding chair and flashlight. The sunset is spectacular. You can walk to the Metro station. The rest of the year they perform at the US Marine Barracks in Washington DC.

And think, most are playing a wind instrument if they aren't in the Drum Corps, and yet they are marching, some nearly sprinting to get in place before returning to marching. It helps they are largely 18-22 y.o.'s but still, can you imagine?
No they have a week, or two on most routines. Not months.
I think the choir joined the band for the Man in the mirror, and was the red at the bottom of the star. You should check out the tribute to blockbuster movies too.

They rehearse about 30 hours a week and perform at all home games during the season.
I'm a Buckeye alum so obviously I'm gonna say this is the best marching band in existence but I'd also recommend some of the A&M marching band videos.: they're not quite as creative but their band is MASSIVE and more military oriented high precision marching that's also quite cool to experience.

You should check out their Hollywood Blockbuster show. IMO best show ever by a band. Yass if you like precision you should check out the Texas A&M marching band doing their 4 way cross show.
This is the largest “all brass & percussion” band in the world
As others have likely said, students start playing instruments in elementary school - ages 6-10, continue with basic marching in middle school/jr high - ages 11-13, and really ramp up the playing and marching in high school - ages 13-18. Tryouts at university usually yields the best marchers and best players combos from the best of the high school players. These university students learn these routines and memorize the music usually in one week, in addition to their classes and studying. This is usually like a club at university that travels with the sports teams. The more experienced older students at the universities do the most complicated marching and lead the younger students along complicated patterns. Everyone is expected to know the marching and the music by showtime, though, at the end of the week. It's a real dedication and art form.
The reason that Collegiate sports are such a big thing in the U.S. is partly (there is never just One Explanation for anything…) because of our sprawling geography. The professional football league, the NFL, has thirty-two teams spread across the length and breadth of the continent. That is a small fraction of the cities able to support a football team. Indeed, the teams bounce around between towns when they think another city can give them a better stadium or tax deal, so many teams do not have the sort of home-town loyalty one might expect (looking at you, Oakland-L.A.-Oakland-Las Vegas Raiders. Or, as the bumper stickers in Los Angeles said, "Go, Raiders! And Don't Come Back!"). So, if you don't live pretty close to an NFL team, you don't get to see a home game. But universities and colleges are important to their communities. Local teens hope to attend; alumni often settle down to reside in the same city. So these institutions, even in fairly small towns, attract a great deal of enthusiasm from the local city-in some cases, even the local high school teams will draw huge crowds (and have improbably large stadiums). Why Americans are so crazy in general for gridiron football is a whole larger discussion.

The Premier stadiums are a tiny joke compared to the top 20 college football stadiums, except for possibly Wembley and Tottenham. 8 college stadiums have a total capacity of over 100,000+, while an additional 12 have a total capacity of 75,000+. They are packed every home game...

You definitely should react to college football videos. College football is America. Across the country, you will see as many flags supporting the local college as you do American flags.
I believe 8 of the stadiums here excess 100,000 plus. And the atmosphere on GameDay will outdo any other sporting event.
Probably the best atmosphere in football is the Penn State Whiteout (a rival of Ohio state)

Their Games are also Televised . Like the Pros. As a matter of fact this is just me , I think College games tend to be better than the NFL . Their scores are way higher than the NFL profesional players .

América is Very Proud of these College Students who on top of having a busy shedule for studies take the time to entertain the fans . They are the Best at it .
