Table Tennis Pro Secrets, Double the Spin on the Backhand Topspin, All Serves, Backhand Flick etc

  • This is a simple method to really increase the spin level on most table tennis shots. Most coaches I have experienced do not talk about this method. Its most easy to learn on the backhand topspin. All pro level serves use this principle to create effortless racket head speed.

    Nice video but I have my reservations as to the potential injuries if the wrist is not controlled and just continues to fly off on a vector... THis channel is definitely good and I will continue exploring the content. I am not a pro and please DO disregard my comments if they are not correct.

    Thank you for this very important tip! Implementing this whip effect can elevate one's game by several levels. And, to execute the whip effect, one needs to keep their body relaxed, especially the arms and shoulders.
    Now, how can we keep our body relaxed? One can achieve this by not holding the breath at the time of hitting but breathing fluidly as we do during rest. Many hold their breath subconsciously while hitting a shot and as a result stiffen up their body. With a stiff body, executing the whip effect is impossible.

    Just about every shot in table tennis uses the wrist. Controlled relaxation if that makes sense. Most club players are not relaxed enough. They hit with the arm instead of the body first, then arm .

      Yes I find it very strange that most coaches never talk about it. Here is my past coach talking about it. His wrist is much more flexible compared to mine and his serves are pro level.

    I would say increase the contact time with the ball. Which needs a flexible wrist.

    Ok I paused at 1:13 and i think maybe it's relaxing the wrist and do a sort if muscle wave starting from the ground to the hand . I Hope I was right

      Pretty close. Relax wrist but stop arm movement fast so wrist wipes through. Fast arm movement depends on power from ground and forward body movement.

    Sometimes I think it's all about 'feeling' the end of the bat handle 'lever' in the palm of the hand.. yes relaxed arm, and wrist is key.. but I think finger strength is key too but only to help get that momentum at the start..

      Yes i agree with u that when I feel the bat handle action in my hand the spin level is better. This applies to flick and backhand topspin too. A good whip action allows this to happen. Ie delayed backswing as much as possible then a fast backswing and forward swing.
