Her version of Autumn Leaves although not quite as famous as Over The Rainbow may be even better!
Over the Rainbow? Better than Judy Garland. Autumn Leaves? Better than Nat King Cole. Danny Boy? Better than Jim Reeves. Fields of Gold? A lot better than Sting. I could go on and on.
The brightest star shines the shortest
I had the privilege to see her perform at Blues Alley in Washington DC. I thought she was amazing, and I still listen to her cd's.
A must watch ... Her version of "Bridge over troubled water "
An angel among us taken away too soon. Such a beautiful soul. RIP Eva.
Hey Lovely Gals, are you familiar with the brilliant music of Nick Drake? He did not survive his battle with depression as a young man in the 1970s, yet he composed some of the most poignant, lyrical, and melancholic music ever created. Often hailed as the Vincent Van Gogh of modern pop music, his work remains a testament to his genius. I would be thrilled to hear your thoughts on this remarkable artist. I suggest starting with "Day is Done," "River Man," and then "Fruit Tree," "Chimes of the City Clock," and "Pink Moon." Has anyone mentioned Nick Drake on your channel before?
You MUST react to Eva's LIVE OVER THE RAINBOW LIVE
watch the full live version of Eva singing 'over the rainbow'
Amen
Eva has become an inspiration and reference for the new generation: Angelina Jordan, Lucy Thomas, …, Katy Melua before them, they all got inspired and used her cover versions.
Sting said she sang his Fields of Gold the way he should have done it and that the song was hers now.

I concur. The Blues Alley concert is absolutely EPIC.
"This world was never meant for one as beautiful as you" --Vicent by Don McLean.
She was very talented, beautiful voice
I grew up in the county next to Eva's, I never got to see her perform and only learned of her too late when she was ill. She was something else, the likes that don't come around in our lives very often. You're lucky if someone like that does enter your life. I've had the honor of meeting some of her band mates and they are the best people. We were robbed of so much more beautiful music. Her voice makes your skin tingle, she could do it all. Best all around female vocalist I've ever heard
This is why I do not watch the Voice, AGT, and these other so called talent shows. Eva was a TRUE Talent, and would not have ever lowered herself to having an online voting or judges determine if she could sing or not. I found out about EVA many years ago, and went out and bought he CD's that were available. I worked as a self employed painter, and would play her music through my boombox, and everyone would always ask, who is that? An interview with Sting, who wrote Fields of Gold, said she owned that song! It brought tears to him, as he said, that is how i thought of it being sung.
Eva was made famous in the UK by a disc jocky and tv presenter named Terry Wogan who had heard a recording of her from his friend.Terry has since passed away.A fine Irish man.
... that would be the Terry Wogan in the video then?
Thats right.putting aside your sarcasm.Terry worked for the BBC for over 30 years. He told his listeners what he was going to do and he did it.Terry was really loved here in the UK.He came from Limerick in Ireland. He got an honourary Knighthood as he was Irish and not entitled to a full honour. We here in the UK knew all about what he was trying to do for Eva long before the programme you watched yesterday. So put your sarcasm away.@@thegroovetube3247
Over the Rainbow, Autumn Leaves and Fields of Gold by Eva blew me away. You guys should really do reactions to them.
Not a dry eye here...
Her voice reminds me a little of Roberta Flack ("Killing Me Softly" & "the First Time [Ever I Saw Your Face] fame).
I'm so glad to see you ladies reacting to this story. You're right; it is incredible. You should watch your own reactions the moment she started to sing on this. It's priceless!
Thanks for this. I've loved Eva for years, but hadn't seen the whole story like this. One of my top 5 singers.
I found Eva via an interview with Barry Gibb of the Bee Gees. He loved her so much. I love her too. Taken from us too early, but we will never forget her. Thank you Kathy, Lulu and Donna for sharing Eva's life with us. We are all just ordinary folk, who love people who love music. Her light still shines.
Nice reaction ive always loved fleetwood mac's Christine mcvies Song bird . Eva did it and wow beautiful sound sad sad life story for her amazing voice
Eva had gigantic stage presence when she performed. What are they talking about? Her voice and guitar eclipsed dancing and jumping around. Her performances brought people to tears but apparently no stage presence hahahahaha! Keep the drawl a coming ladies X
I have a few suggestions: "Timeless Voice" is first. It's a lengthier look at the Eva Story. And second, Look at "One Night That Changed Everything." It's the story of the two nights that were recorded which became "Live at Blues Alley." Her band gets together 10 years after those two nights, and they talk about Eva and what an incredible experience it was knowing her and playing music with her. Both videos are worth watching whether you react to them or not. And just so you know, Eva covered Sting's song, "Fields of Gold." And he said that he wrote the song, but Eva owned it!
Actually, that documentary was done in 2021 to mark the 25th anniversary of the Blues Alley date. It is well worth your time to watch it.
Thanks for correcting me on the time line. I was thinking it was 10 years, but apparently I was wrong. @@barbaraheil7894
You should do Prince-Little Red Corvette official music video
Katie Melua's song (Faraway Voice) was written (by Katie) about Eva Cassidy, actually. (Late) Eva Cassidy made a big impact on her when Katie was 18. - th-cam.com/video/6NnbwJYPE84/w-d-xo.html
It's terrible, but melanoma is a monster even now.
Great voice! Too bad she died before finding fame. Though, maybe it’s appropriate, since she was so shy and had stage fright. I enjoyed the story and your reaction to the video, ladies. Keep up the great reactions 👩🏻🏫👏🏻🥰‼️
Thanks
@@KathyLuluandDonna … You’re welcome 😊!
Even after 5 weeks of hearing this, I am filled with tears of pure joy almost before it begins.
Even with all the road blocks that got in the way of her fame before she passed away, GOD ALMIGHTY, who blessed her with this talent had HIS own plan to make a dying World aware that many popular songs could bring new meaning for hope and love and a purposeful future for all who are willing to listen and receive the message. Among others, we can believe that at the time it seems that life is over, we indeed, like the happy bluebirds, will FLY SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW, to join our Savior In The Sky, wether it is individually or enmass at the RAPTURE OF GOD'S CHURCH.
This is a wonderful story about a inexplicably wonderful woman. Thanks. I knew of her but hadn't seen this and didn't know all of this story.
Another amazing singer is Lucy Thomas. Her cover of 'A Whiter Shade Of Pale' shows her *perfect* vocals.
amazing, sad, beautiful -- any more words?
Have you ever listened to Candy Dulfer ,Shes Dutch saxophonist, speaks good English she has her own band
I'm from the Maryland suburbs. Eva was well known in the area for her incredible voice.
I discovered "Eva Cassidy - Fields of Gold" as a song about 10 years ago. I heard somewhere she died from cancer at 33 years of age. I never knew any thing else about her until now. Amazing story. You should check out her album Songbird............. wonderful songs on it! Thank you for sharing and reacting to this wonderful woman. God bless and may she Rest In Peace.
I love Eva Cassidy…Thanks for doing. CONSIDER DOING ELVIS PRESLEY REACTIONS
Glad to see Eva getting some recognition these days
Hi, to the three of you. This is sad as I remember her singing Over the Rainbow.
Fantastic reaction to a fantastic person!
Her song covering songbird is one of my favorites. If it was played at my funeral, that’d be just alright!
You are three gorgeous gals 😍
Thank you!! 😊
Trust TH-cam to completely destroy the sound
Her favorite song of mine is Autumn Leaves❤
Another gem you have to discover: Lara Fabian.
Almost unknown in USA as she has been prevented to perform and succeed there but a legend in many other countries.
She is an idol for Dimash, a role model for Josh Groban, an inspiration for Diana Ankudinova.
Barbra Streisand, Shirley Bassey, Linda Eder, Josh Groban, …covered songs from her ( she is a songwriter in 4 languages) and this is also the case from the new generation: Dimash, Diana Ankudinova, Floor Jansen, Cakra Khan, Gabriel Henrique, Morissette Amon, Forestella, Gigi de Lana, Katrina Velarde, Polina Gagarina, Jackie Evancho, Regine Velasquez, Rimar, Almira (4th impact), … they all covered at least one of her songs.
Check her with these classics Adagio th-cam.com/video/bqoS-KOLV_4/w-d-xo.html, Je suis Malade th-cam.com/video/eHSyk4SGtuY/w-d-xo.html or Broken Vow th-cam.com/video/kJBGCI8aSE4/w-d-xo.html
Thanks so much! I’ve been a fan of hers for years. Incredible!
Why do the good die young? An age old question.
Listen to all her music you will be amazed
Please play her version of Danny Boy, you will never forget it
😍😍😍RIP Angel
Everything Eva sang was amazing. She made a song her own. My favorite by her might be "How Can I Keep From Singing". I highly recommend listening to everything she did.
I’ve loved Eva’s version of songbird since I heard it in Love Actually. I didn’t learn of her tragic death until years later.
I have a great song for you to react to called “A Christmas Hallelujah” by Cassandra Star and her sister Callahan. Though it says Christmas, this song is for any time of the year. I think you’ll like it a lot.
Love Eva's Voice
My favorite female singer. RIP
So inspirational! RIP Eva Cassidy 😢💖
Must check out "Hocus Pocus" by Focus! Y'all get a kick out of it!
Great Reaction 👍🙏
