    Hey everyone!
    I didn't expect to not upload for so long, but the 2023 Rangers video I've been working on has basically turned into a deep dive into their team history (probably an hour+ long video). So yeah, that's what I've been working on this whole time, but I want it to be my best video to date and I'm hoping to upload it soon. After that, my next big video will be on the 2023/2024 Padres.
    Happy new year!

      Padres fan here. Can’t hate the Dodgers for being winners, and having an excellently run organization top to bottom, From GM to scouting to player development, there legitimately is no team in professional sports like them in my opinion.
      We Padres have the spending and superstars, but lack roster depth, deep farm, and player development especially in hitting.

    • @itzepic8824
      @itzepic8824 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +11

      @@treysonmcgrady4750 that’s where the illusion of AJ Preller comes in everyone thinks he’s this ‘’amazing GM’’ who always goes for every possible star player there is but he never values players that are given up on or the players who don’t necessarily have that ‘’star’’ label on them but are solid baseball players who can be productive for the team and he doesn’t know how to develop prospects well that’s why we can’t ever get on the same level as the dodgers

    • @f430ferrari5

      Actually didn’t age too well looking into the details:
      1. Glasnow did pitch beyond 120 innings but failed to be available in post season.
      2. Yamamoto actually did get hurt and missed a good part of the regular season. He was nowhere close to being as advertised but the long lay-off and rest paid off in post season. He wasn’t totally great but good enough.
      The Dodgers got over the top with some key trades at the deadline:
      1. Flaherty
      2. Edman
      3. Kopech
      Key 1 year deals for both Teoscar and Kike Hernandez were big for the Dodgers winning it all and also can’t thank Walker Bueller enough who struggled during the regular season. His limited pitching though and even time off really worked wonders.
      The Dodgers won 2 less regular season games than the year before and were down 2-1 to the Padres. Ohtani definitely helped lead and bring the team back. Teoscar was great in NLDS but struggled in NLCS and did good enough in the WS.
      Edman and Muncy were key in the NLCS but Muncy totally collapsed in the WS. All played well enough at different times for the Dodgers to win.
      Dodgers can certainly repeat in 2025.
      So yeah this vid did age well to the avg fan but it isn’t always about big contracts. Dodgers have had big contracts in the past and they also let guys go and just last year many were regretting letting Corey Seager go. Not me. Look what happened to Texas this year.

    One of the best, if not the best, explanation of what makes the Dodgers tick both philosophically and financially. Impressive. Deep pockets of the ownership is a huge baseline here but have to admire the agility and patience. Its like the baseball version of the art of war.

    This is a super take. I'm a Dodger fan and yes I celebrated when McCourt sold the team. People act as if they throw money around every year...they don't. This off-season was very different for them. Friedman only signs long-term deals for difference makers.
    This video is the first one I saw that explains it and doesn't say "they do it all with money"... no they don't. Probably the most organized team in baseball from top to bottom. It doesn't always equal WS wins but Dodger fans can't complain at all. They are always in a position to do it. That's all you can ask. Finding value in released players has been one of their best weapons. Justin Turner, Brandon Marrow, Chris Taylor, Max Muncy, and the list goes on. Noah Syndergaard didn't work out but they knew when to move on.

    When MCcourt owned the Dodgers, my family and I were done with them for a while. Then in 2012 everything changed and we started going to games often again and watching at home more often. I’m 30 and 2020 WS was the happiest I’ve been as a Dodger fan! I’m scared the new trades won’t be enough. But as long as it translates to October success, that’s what matters most. We need to talk more about the Dodgers player development staff from top to bottom, specifically pitching. Considering the volatility of pitcher health over a 162 game season - and 2023 showed how unfortunate that was with their rotation in the playoffs - we could see the Dodgers normalize the 6 man rotation moving forward. The team has a track record of signing pitchers that may not even contribute in their first season to, at worst, signal to free agent pitchers to get a taste of their pitching development staff without the pressure of rushing back to the majors; that's how they've gotten so many short term value pitchers. Shohei has proven his arm is incapable of sustaining a full season (the magical 2022 season being the lone exception), I don't think it's wise to change up Yoshi's routine of pitching every 6 days if their other starters are all injury prone. With their organizational depth I think a 6 man rotation is inevitable, especially if they can somehow get Sasaki early for 2025. It's hard to hate on the Dodgers because this dynasty was built on investing into player development; the free agency spending is for the casuals to hate on.

    The 06-11 Dodgers were my childhood, grew up wearing a Kemp jersey. It’s absolutely heartbreaking to think about those years and what could’ve been. To be fair, it always seemed that the Phillies with Rollins, Howard, Hamels, Halladay? and Lee were always the better club in the NL in those days.

    well made video. great job. must have been hard for u doing this video as a SD supporter. however I commend u for being objective and not just making an ‘LA is ruining baseball’ video.
    SD tried and went for it last year on the backend of a crazy playoff run and unfortunately they never clicked. their big 4 never clicked at the same time and SD’s lack of depth was exposed at the bottom of their lineup and backend of the rotation esp after darvish and musgrove went down. this year’s version of LA should be much more equipped to handle the grind of a regular season though … unsurprisingly since they have indeed won 10 of the last 11 division titles. however SD should still have a chance to make the playoffs as a wild card. they’ll be competing with SF, AZ, PHI among others for a wild card spot, compete in the WC round and then go from there.

    I particularly liked the way you kept narrative flow but simultaneously maintained visual interest via use of charts, quotes, and documents/headlines/tweets along with videos. It makes for a visually varied experience that pleases the eye. Just excellent overall.

    It's crazy how in sports if you don't win the championship your team is considered trash by the fans, even though only one team can win it. If the Dodgers had a bad series and lost to the Yankees this year, the team would have been heavily rebuilt, even though this team is undoubtedly going to be a dynasty.

  • @nassiglutt6587
    @nassiglutt6587 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Baseball dynasty is kinda an overstatement cus it's the hardest to accomplish in all of sports. Yankees the last one to have successive wins to be considered such and that was more than a couple of decades ago. Simple errors, injuries or a single power hit on a grandslam and your done. Their program tho is very promising and you might be right. They been consistent and loaded more and now they're champs. They won't win every yr but they'll be seen as WS or bust

    • @slopez6258

    *Ohtani's first year with the Dodgers while recovering from a tommy surgery:*
    - Set the franchise record for most home runs in a single season with 54 home runs
    - Achieved a 9.2 Offensive bWAR, the highest in Dodgers' history, surpassing Mike Piazza’s 9.0 mark in 1997
    - Holds the franchise record for most RBIs in a single game with 10 RBIs (in the game he went 6-for-6 with 3 home runs, 5 XBH and 2 stolen bases)
    - Most XBH by a LA Dodger (99)
    - Recorded 10 straight games with an RBI
    - 411 total bases, setting a LA Dodgers record, surpassing Adrián Beltré’s 376 total bases in 2004
    - Hit the most home runs in a single season at Dodgers' home games with 28 home runs
    - Achieved a 190 OPS+, the highest in a qualified season in Dodgers history, surpassing Mike Piazza’s 185 OPS+ in 1997
    - Set a Dodgers record with 134 runs scored, leading the majors in this category
    - Posted a .646 slugging percentage, leading the NL and setting a new Dodgers record, surpassing Gary Sheffield’s .643 mark in 2000
    - Led the Dodgers in all offensive categories in a single season
    *Postseason performance:*
    Heroically saved the Dodgers from getting swept by the Padres with his massive clutch 3-run homer in the NLDS, having an outstanding NLCS performance with a 1.184 OPS, .364 AVG, .818 with RISP, leading with 9 runs, reaching the bases 17 TIMES, and of course, he massively contributed to Game 1 of the World Series with his series-changing clutch double in the 8th inning that led to Freddie's grand slam, dealing a blow to the Yankees' morale. But unfortunately, Ohtani's postseason run ended in Game 2 when his shoulder was dislocated, requiring surgery after the series.
    Ohtani and the Dodgers are destined for GREATNESS!!!

    Ohtani may never be an elite pitcher again after 2 TJ surgeries. Yamamoto has never pitched an inning in the MLB and now he must learn to use a bigger baseball with less grip. Also like most Japanese pitchers he relies on the split finger fastball. He may have some elbow issues himself in the future.

    • @nosugarlowcarbs9024
      @nosugarlowcarbs9024 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Yeah lots of pitchers who relied on the split finger have found their career shortened. However, Yamamoto could be different. He relies on flexibility training. He may be able to avoid shoulder issues.

    • @teslabulls1238
      @teslabulls1238 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      I don't know about Yamamoto having elbow issues. Will have to wait and see on that. Two TJ's for Ohtani is a concern. Tyler Glasnow is a great pitcher but he also has his injury issues.
