She was the ethereal voice that was heard in perhaps one of the most famous movie scenes of all time. The scene took place on the bow of the ill-fated ship, Titanic , where the character Rose declares to Jack, “I’m flying!” In fact, the very first sound in the entire film was Sissel’s voice, not singing words, but hauntingly memorable arias, that were present throughout the film. Music critics have described her voice as ‘exquisite,’ ‘crystalline’ and ‘captivating.’ Quote.
Sissel is amazing! I'm swedish an she is very well known here. She did the voice of Ariel in Disneys Little mermaid back in the days, and she did it in both noweigan, swedish and danish as from what I learned. She is an amazing singer, there is absolutely noone libe her!
I could listen to beautiful soprano voices all day and never tire of them. Her voice has spot-on accuracy, is crystal-clear and so well-controlled. What a joy to hear!
Dvorak's Symphony No. 9 is one of my favorite pieces of classical music. This song is based on the Largo movement. I have never heard of Sissel, but she is magnificent. This is one of the most beautiful versions of this song that I have heard.
You don't have to react to this but she does "Slow Down" with the Tabernacle Choir. There was a 5 minute standing ovation for it. The emotion in that one gets me every time. 😊
This was beautiful, not the type of music I would ever listen to but she could sing for sure. The backup vocalist were really good as well. I hope your having a good weekend Tommy.
@@TheWolffAndTheMelody The comment is about the fact that Sissel was the voice of Ariel in norweigan, swedish and also the singing parts in danish in the dubb of Walt Disneys version of The Little Mermaid (the danish fairytale) from 1989. And she will always be my Ariel as well, no one could do it better! Not even the original. She is magic! A fairytale princess with the voice of an angel. 💖
@@TheWolffAndTheMelody Anytime, glad you enjoyed lovely Sissel. There is so much beauty ahead of you if you keep exploring her work. She sang a song with Peter Jöback (that you have reacted to before) Gå inte förbi (witch kind of means Do not pass by), I love that one, I think you might like it too, it's a heart-warming song. She sings beautifully in both norweigan and swedish. I am happy we get to share Norways beautiful songbird.
Sissel is one of my favorite sopranos of all time, I love her voice! Dude, you should listen to her singing "Lær Meg Å Kjenne". It's SO soothing ans beautiful!
Thank you for reacting to the Norwegian national treasure. Sissel is one of the biggest stars of Scandinavia and her vocals can be heard in several movies such as Titanic and Lord of the Rings. Try react to her performing songs like "Pie Jesu", "My Tribute", "The Old Castle" and "You'll Never Walk Alone".
Thanks for reacting to my #1 favourite artist. I hope you will react to more of her. If her cristal clear voice get under your skin, you vil never get read of it again. I have been to a couple of her Christmas concerts and I for sure will go to more concerts.
That’s one of the things I really like about your channel, you don’t put yourself in a box where you only listen to a narrow selection of music, you appreciate it all. ❤👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
She sings anything she likes and everything between which brings out the disdainers. She's said in interview that she likes song in its broadest sense and has only ever wanted to be a singer from childhood.
Maybe the colab you'd least expect Sissel did was with Warren G, on Prince Igor, back in 1997. Regardless, she's been an absolute national treasure for about 40 years here in Norway.
you really need to check out patricia janeckova, my friend! 'once upon a time in the west' which won her 'talentmania' in slovakia when she was 12yo, 'meine lippen', from a 2016 new year concert & 'think of me', from 4 years ago, are just 3 songs which i recommend but there are so many others!! all the best!
GReat reaction to this wonderful performance by Sissel! She has been performing on this level for 4 decades by now. Her en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_songs_recorded_by_Sissel fills fifty nine, that is 59, pages on my laptop...

She is incredible! Her voice is very powerful and she can sing some very high notes without effort.
I discovered her over a year ago, I believe she is the greatest singer ever, from country to opera and everything in between
