    My bobbin ran out a few inches from the end of a project and this video was so easy and helpful!
    Thank you!
    I and my project are greatly appreciative. 😊

    Hello. Thank you for this video. Just bought a Singer 500 and the bobbin winder is not spinning. Any suggestions?

    • @md2992

      The problem could be something as simple as thread caught in the winder preventing it from spinning.. You can remove the cover to check for thread that might be attached to the assembly. If You don't see thread, you may have to remove the bobbin winder assembly. I have pasted a TH-cam video for you to view. If you decide to replace the assembly, make sure you take photos of the assembly before you begin. You can find parts for this machine on SewingMachindPlus.com I hope this helps. th-cam.com/video/P2ROdLM5zmE/w-d-xo.html

    Hey M D, thank you for your video. I live in FL and will be driving to Alabama Saturday to check out a Singer 500A...Rocketeer. Here is hoping she looks as good as she does in the pictures I've seen and sews well. If she passes both those tests she will be coming home with me. I'm excited!

      I hope the Singer 500A you are going to check out works for you. When I bought mine, I was able to spend time testing it out before purchasing. Good luck!

      @@md2992, several days ago I messaged the owner that I will be coming with fabric and thread so I can test the machine before I make a decision. It was the sellers personal machine so that does make me feel better. The pictures she sent look like she took great care of her machine and the price is amazing...…$75 for the machine, cabinet, carrying case and all the accessories. I checked out TH-cam to learn as much as I could about the machine before I go. Here is hoping I'll remember all the info when I get there. Tomorrow is the BIG day I get to try it out. I pray I make the right choice after trying the machine. Thank you for taking the time to make your TH-cam on the....Rocketeer!

    What is the purpose of releasing the handwheel? It looks like you only loosen it a 1/4 turn.

    • @md2992
      @md2992  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question. Releasing the wheel prevents the take-up lever from moving, so the needle can't move up and down while the bobbin is winding. I had probably released it before I filmed the video.

      @@md2992 So if my needle is still moving up and down when I wind a bobbin, I have not loosened it enough? I probably need to get the 500a professionally cleaned as I had trouble loosening the wheel.

    I don't see where you brought your classic 66 bobbin. You said the ones at Joann where not that good. So where can I buy the one you have. Thanks
