I think that people are not that isolated; but they actually have teleporters that let you visit your friends and relatives, The thing in The bedroom where new players spawn through is probably one of these teleporters

In the dive bell it calls the players suits. Hinting that the players are non human. Or human parts in a suit. The fact that the suit also goes dark when you die shows that the players have some machinations in their suit.
Or you’re overthinking everything and the dive bell only recognizes humans with suits on so that accidents don’t happen where a human without a suit doesn’t accidentally or purposefully launch themselves down into the old world.

I'm going to make my own lore, because I can (WARNING: This shit could be a complete piss-take.): The Old World: The Old World was once a bright, thriving civilization, until one day, thousands of terrifying monsters wreaked havoc upon it. They tried to fight back but unfortunately most of them died. And the only inhabitants of The Old World left, are the same nightmarish creatures that destroyed it. The Mouth Monster: This creature was one of the monsters that ravaged The Old World. Completely useless, it sought home within the remains of this broken world. The Snail Men: The Snail Monsters live a sad and lonely life, with no one to comfort them but themselves. When newcomers arrive at The Old World, they are normally the first to greet them with open arms. They want hugs to comfort their loneliness. Although, they never found why they visitors stop moving and fall to the ground when they do hug them. The Eyelings and Earlings: These creatures are neighboring species. The Earlings, that live a life of fear due to their blindness, rely on The Eyelings to guide them around The Old World. The Spiders: Basically just normal spiders but bigger and eviler. The Whisks: Creatures filled with hate, they attempt to kill any intruders by charging into them, regardless if it means possibly charging into a brick wall. Knifo: A survivor of The Old World attack. She wears a cloak to hide her appearance, and attacks anyone who isn't a monster. She doesn't want to hurt you, but she can't risk the monster's finding out the truth. Ceiling Stars: These monster's are gluttonous nightmares. They dangle from the ceiling to surprise attack passer-bies. Barnacle Ball: Mindless terrors, they only know to spin and kill. Sludge: Another mindless terror, it likes scooping people up and dragging them around the place, regardless if they are going to accidently kill you. Larva: Was once a normal larvae, it mutated after prolong exposure to Sludge. Turret Bot: Was created as a defense to the people of The Old World. They completely fucked up it's coding. It can't tell the difference between monsters and humans, so it just kills anything that moves. Speaking of which, there's a bug in it's code where if something stands completely still it can't detect it. The Iron Maiden: Was also created as a method of defense against the monsters (This time with slightly better coding. Slightly.). It may look like a solid statue, but it's AI is so unbelievably advanced, it may as well be a sentient being. It thinks if it doesn't move, the monsters will think it's just a statue, then once their backs are turned it captures them, and charges up it's kill mechanism for a slow and gruesome death. After a few months of killing monsters, it realized that it was made to kill monsters which is bad. Sure the monsters attacked first, but two wrongs don't make a right. After this it started killing humans. It also really wants to watch Spooktube but can't get past the "I Am Not A Robot" bit. The Bomber: A monster who managed to get into The Old World's supply of explosives. The Bomber loves explosions now and likes it when he kills someone with bombs. At least he's happy? The Snatcher: Loves snatching people and killing them. It's species has adapted to the darkness of The Old World so well, that if it ever comes into contact with light, it starts to dissolve. Pretty fucked up ngl. The Slapper: The Slapper is a complete brute force of nature. It acts like it's in charge of the place, and is incredibly destructive. He is the main responsibility for the destruction of The Old World. Flicker: Flicker is a ancient entity, older that The Old World itself. Flicker is all-seeing, all-knowing and all-powerful. It is a very mysterious creature and not much is known about it. (Not even I know much about it, and I'm making this shit up as I go along!). He also likes to shit-talk/self-conscious-talk The Slapper in his free time. There was also an update introducing 13 more monsters so: Button Bot: Was yet again created as a defense in for The Old World. They don't know what the button does so they go up to random strangers trying to get them to press it. When someone does press it, they explode but are given a split-second to have an existential crisis over how they were created to live and die. No making Button Bot friends, no finding a Button Bot lover and having little Button Bot babies. Just, die. Bit sad ngl. Black Hole Bot: Button Bot - Existential Crisis = Black Hole Bot. That's basically it. The Puffer Fish: Much like The Snails in the way they want hugs, except no why they stop moving afterwards. Fire: Loves making things unecessarily dramatic. That's why he breathes fire. Not to harm anyone, but to intensify the setting. Like, if The Slapper is chasing you down a hallway, Fire will make an action movie out of it. Harpuner: The Harpuner likes harpoonin'! That's why he harpoons! Oh right, lore... um... uhhh... monster. Mime: Also a survivor of the destruction of The Old World, just like Knifo! Except, he's gone completely insane. His movements defy the laws of physics and everyone is too uncomfortable to be around him, so he's a bit lonely. The Mimic: "You're not Gregory. What are you?" "THE MIMIC!" (I'm sorry, that memes ran it's course already.). Anyway, he's literally a normal human, he just likes to fuck about with others by confusing them. Camera Creep: This creep likes cameras... ...and, girls, I DON'T KNOW OKAY?! Ultra Knifo: He is actually a Slapper in disguise (A Slapper, not THE Slapper. There's more than one.). He's very shy and is best friends with Knifo. He's the only one who knows Knifo's true identity. Snail Spawner: Is a massive fan of The Snail Men. He likes making more Snail Men to admire. Gets absolutely gutted when they disappear after a bit. The Streamer: The Streamer was once a normal person who went by the name of Evan Cowan. He and nine of his friends went down to The Old World to get famous. During an expedition, one of his friends got killed (By The Bomber). Everyone agreed that they should destroy the footage as it would be disrespectful to keep it. Evan was curious and posted the footage anyway. The views were insane, and the only person who knew why was Evan. After that Evan always insisted to go on expeditions, and to hold the camera. A week later, another one died (To a Whisk) and Evan caught it on camera. It went viral again. After that everyone was being careful, and expeditions happened less frequently. If Evan wanted to be famous he needed his friends to be killed. So when ever they did go out, Evan would always bring a Shock Stick. Why? Well, "Just in case we need to fight back.". A few months later, a lot had changed. The group had more advanced technology and things to help them. There was only three people left in the group. Evan, Michael and Jessie. Jessie was getting more suspicious after every expedition, and had figured out why they were getting so famous. Evan and Michael had left to find footage, and Jessie knew Michael wouldn't come back. She had packed up her things and was leaving Evan behind to rot. She entered their Divebell and she was about to leave this nightmare behind when she felt a sharp pain in her back. She fell to the ground and turned over to see what had attacked her. Evan was standing over her, a Shock Stick in one hand and a camera in the other. A massive screen was protruding from his back with half it being taken up by a live-chat, and the other of her suffering. "You thought you could escape, huh?" Evan said menacingly. "Where is Michael?!" Jessie yelled, even though she knew the answer. "Let me guess, The Spider thing got him?!". Evan chuckled. "You won't believe this," he began. "But it was The Snail things this time!". "You're insane, Evan!" Jessie screamed, the anger and sadness she had bottled up for weeks finally being unleashed. "You killed you're only friends and for what?! Some strangers saying cool things about you?!". "The Chat is are my friends now!" Evan snapped angrily. "They love me and support me and think I'm amazing!". "Fine, then!" uttered Jessie. "If you want to impress them so much, then why don't you just get it over with already?!". Evan froze, was he really going to kill the one real friend he had left? "What do you think Chat?" he asked looking at the screen, "Should we let her go, or just say it was the Slime thing?" The Chat went wild. Many said horrible thing about Jessie, many said to get on with it, many felt pity, but the majority had chosen death. "Welp." Said Evan raising his Shock Stick. "Don't need to tell me twice.". Jessie closed her eyes. The last thing she heard was the shattering of her mask and a very faint "I'm sorry, Jessie.". Evan became one of the most famous people on Spooktube. He now livestreams everything he does in The Old World. Everyone sees him as an unstoppable force who will always entertain them, but really, after he killed Jessie, Evan wanted nothing more than to stop. He puts on act to impress his viewers, because they were the only thing he had left. If you could even call them that... The Worm: Literally just an angry worm. And you know what? I may as well do the scrapped/modded/rumored-to-be-in-the-game/can-only-be-seen-by-using-hacks monsters as well: Ghost: 👻👻👻 Arms: Likes to do things with his hands. Don't ask what. Really, it's better you don't know. Toolkit Family: This is the Whisk's Family. Vacuum (Whisk's Father), Iron (Whisk's Mother), Hammer (Whisk's Uncle) and Fan (Whisk's Sister).
here is all the ones I met and what I call them first the snail thing i call snail guy and robo dog is well robo dog the knife ghost thing is the crying child yes like in fnaf idk or sometimes we call it the murder child the centipede guy is just big guy and bomber is bomb guy these names most likely happened when we where running so they have a lot of guy in them also there is slime guy which is the goop thing and there is blender guy
when i encounter the grabber snake, i dubbed it the “horrible snake demon” because i saw its face for like three seconds before it tossed me and as i flung i screamed “ITS THE HORRIBLE SNAKE DEMON!!” and promptly died, made for good content though
We called it the rancor cuz it kinda looks like a rancor from the front and we never saw it from the back because we were too busy being turned into bowling balls by it.
Personally i think some sort of event happened causing people to malform in different ways making this creatures. (Besides the machines i believe humans made em)
Here's how I sort of think it tho I think it's sort of like the hell system in Ultrakill. Willpower and Strength make you stronger in hell. Now the only difference is instead of willpower it's things that happen in your life. So like for example snail people might have lots of memories or such taking care of snails. It causes you to malform into a snail person. But for things like big slap (or as I call Tank L4D2) I believe in life they had lots of strength but since they get left into the old world they malform to things life big slap. However here's something different. For flicker I believe it's a sort of deity. A deity that mainly malform the people. So I think flicker might be responsible for this because no other creatures have powers to basically form the room red while forcing you to look at it only for you to die with absolutely not even being touched by flicker. But hey this is my theory tho

Let me show a better explanation. Because this one's kind of old and stinky. Let me tell you the modern newer one. So I believe big slap. You know, because of the painting is the main monster and the first one, the 1 that started all the other 1. And I believe that the photo shows the past the past of the facility. And how it caused all of this because of that big swap dude, he caused all the other monsters and it's kinda unclear where it started, but there were a few possibilities that I won't really get into but the point is that because of him, the people who were once down there would then become ghost. And because of the ghost, it's the origin of the ghost. Kid in the buff, one because they are ghost and the reason why those people are kind of like them. It's because they are kind of worshipping the ghost in some way. You know they are becoming the memberships that collapse and how it became the old world. And the main point that take away is that I believe spoke tube. Is the true mastermind? I believe they may or may not have caused it on purpose and essentially use the old world and reform it becoming spooktube, and the old world is A. Send joy the truth of spooktube and how it is sensually formed from the shadows and done it all as a scheme. And used its corrupt power against us. Being our dream and having our own plan. And having it all be a part of spooktub and I believe that the streamer dude is an event. And it's the one and advanced 1, rising and us. The smaller one side of the big streamer, dude and I'd also believe that the angware fish doodle and some way with the due to war rush to him are awake the comments you know they are kind of like the people who comment when we upload. And I believe because I spoke to that the sponsors experiment with the old world, you know. And the swide essentially shows the great Apocalypse of it shows. What once was the old world show the shadow of what was the old world before spoke to corrupted? Lee Rose on the top. Anyhow, I wanted to mention this. Not because I wanted to update it well. Sure, that was my reason, but there's also a far bigger one. Because there's a bigger much bigger thing beyond this game. That connects to the studio and it all connects to the archives. Now you might be thinking oh, those are the rejected games. No, they are the start of the rabbit hole because it proves that every other game is a simulation all connecting to it, all, showing something greater and it all connects to the military as one of us. It's been a soldier, essentially activates. The facility essentially goes within it. And I believe content warning is connected to the facility bringing the content of the games showing the content of it all and being a big part of it. Much like another one I found so far that being tabs as it's being tabs of the simulation being the evolution and essentially being all apart of the computer and each version of it essentially being tabs individual pieces of the computer of the simulation. I'm going to make my own lore, because I can (WARNING: This shit could be a complete piss-take.):
The Old World:
The Old World was once a bright, thriving civilization, until one day, thousands of terrifying monsters wreaked havoc upon it. They tried to fight back but unfortunately most of them died. And the only inhabitants of The Old World left, are the same nightmarish creatures that destroyed it.
The Mouth Monster:
This creature was one of the monsters that ravaged The Old World. Completely useless, it sought home within the remains of this broken world.
The Snail Men:
The Snail Monsters live a sad and lonely life, with no one to comfort them but themselves. When newcomers arrive at The Old World, they are normally the first to greet them with open arms. They want hugs to comfort their loneliness. Although, they never found why they visitors stop moving and fall to the ground when they do hug them.
The Eyelings and Earlings:
These creatures are neighboring species. The Earlings, that live a life of fear due to their blindness, rely on The Eyelings to guide them around The Old World.
The Spiders:
Basically just normal spiders but bigger and eviler.
The Whisks:
Creatures filled with hate, they attempt to kill any intruders by charging into them, regardless if it means possibly charging into a brick wall.
Knifo:
A survivor of The Old World attack. She wears a cloak to hide her appearance, and attacks anyone who isn't a monster. She doesn't want to hurt you, but she can't risk the monster's finding out the truth.
Ceiling Stars:
These monster's are gluttonous nightmares. They dangle from the ceiling to surprise attack passer-bies.
Barnacle Ball:
Mindless terrors, they only know to spin and kill.
Sludge:
Another mindless terror, it likes scooping people up and dragging them around the place, regardless if they are going to accidently kill you.
Larva:
Was once a normal larvae, it mutated after prolong exposure to Sludge.
Turret Bot:
Was created as a defense to the people of The Old World. They completely fucked up it's coding. It can't tell the difference between monsters and humans, so it just kills anything that moves. Speaking of which, there's a bug in it's code where if something stands completely still it can't detect it.
The Iron Maiden:
Was also created as a method of defense against the monsters (This time with slightly better coding. Slightly.). It may look like a solid statue, but it's AI is so unbelievably advanced, it may as well be a sentient being. It thinks if it doesn't move, the monsters will think it's just a statue, then once their backs are turned it captures them, and charges up it's kill mechanism for a slow and gruesome death. After a few months of killing monsters, it realized that it was made to kill monsters which is bad. Sure the monsters attacked first, but two wrongs don't make a right. After this it started killing humans. It also really wants to watch Spooktube but can't get past the "I Am Not A Robot" bit.
The Bomber:
A monster who managed to get into The Old World's supply of explosives. The Bomber loves explosions now and likes it when he kills someone with bombs. At least he's happy?
The Snatcher:
Loves snatching people and killing them. It's species has adapted to the darkness of The Old World so well, that if it ever comes into contact with light, it starts to dissolve. Pretty fucked up ngl.
The Slapper:
The Slapper is a complete brute force of nature. It acts like it's in charge of the place, and is incredibly destructive. He is the main responsibility for the destruction of The Old World.
Flicker:
Flicker is a ancient entity, older that The Old World itself. Flicker is all-seeing, all-knowing and all-powerful. It is a very mysterious creature and not much is known about it. (Not even I know much about it, and I'm making this shit up as I go along!). He also likes to shit-talk/self-conscious-talk The Slapper in his free time.
There was also an update introducing 13 more monsters so:
Button Bot:
Was yet again created as a defense in for The Old World. They don't know what the button does so they go up to random strangers trying to get them to press it. When someone does press it, they explode but are given a split-second to have an existential crisis over how they were created to live and die. No making Button Bot friends, no finding a Button Bot lover and having little Button Bot babies. Just, die. Bit sad ngl.
Black Hole Bot:
Button Bot - Existential Crisis = Black Hole Bot. That's basically it.
The Puffer Fish:
Much like The Snails in the way they want hugs, except no why they stop moving afterwards.
Fire:
Loves making things unecessarily dramatic. That's why he breathes fire. Not to harm anyone, but to intensify the setting. Like, if The Slapper is chasing you down a hallway, Fire will make an action movie out of it.
Harpuner:
The Harpuner likes harpoonin'! That's why he harpoons! Oh right, lore... um... uhhh... monster.
Mime:
Also a survivor of the destruction of The Old World, just like Knifo! Except, he's gone completely insane. His movements defy the laws of physics and everyone is too uncomfortable to be around him, so he's a bit lonely.
The Mimic:
"You're not Gregory. What are you?" "THE MIMIC!" (I'm sorry, that memes ran it's course already.). Anyway, he's literally a normal human, he just likes to fuck about with others by confusing them.
Camera Creep:
This creep likes cameras...
...and, girls, I DON'T KNOW OKAY?!
Ultra Knifo:
He is actually a Slapper in disguise (A Slapper, not THE Slapper. There's more than one.). He's very shy and is best friends with Knifo. He's the only one who knows Knifo's true identity.
Snail Spawner:
Is a massive fan of The Snail Men. He likes making more Snail Men to admire. Gets absolutely gutted when they disappear after a bit.
The Streamer:
The Streamer was once a normal person who went by the name of Evan Cowan. He and nine of his friends went down to The Old World to get famous. During an expedition, one of his friends got killed (By The Bomber). Everyone agreed that they should destroy the footage as it would be disrespectful to keep it. Evan was curious and posted the footage anyway. The views were insane, and the only person who knew why was Evan. After that Evan always insisted to go on expeditions, and to hold the camera. A week later, another one died (To a Whisk) and Evan caught it on camera. It went viral again. After that everyone was being careful, and expeditions happened less frequently. If Evan wanted to be famous he needed his friends to be killed. So when ever they did go out, Evan would always bring a Shock Stick. Why? Well, "Just in case we need to fight back.". A few months later, a lot had changed. The group had more advanced technology and things to help them. There was only three people left in the group. Evan, Michael and Jessie. Jessie was getting more suspicious after every expedition, and had figured out why they were getting so famous. Evan and Michael had left to find footage, and Jessie knew Michael wouldn't come back. She had packed up her things and was leaving Evan behind to rot. She entered their Divebell and she was about to leave this nightmare behind when she felt a sharp pain in her back. She fell to the ground and turned over to see what had attacked her. Evan was standing over her, a Shock Stick in one hand and a camera in the other. A massive screen was protruding from his back with half it being taken up by a live-chat, and the other of her suffering. "You thought you could escape, huh?" Evan said menacingly. "Where is Michael?!" Jessie yelled, even though she knew the answer. "Let me guess, The Spider thing got him?!". Evan chuckled. "You won't believe this," he began. "But it was The Snail things this time!". "You're insane, Evan!" Jessie screamed, the anger and sadness she had bottled up for weeks finally being unleashed. "You killed you're only friends and for what?! Some strangers saying cool things about you?!". "The Chat is are my friends now!" Evan snapped angrily. "They love me and support me and think I'm amazing!". "Fine, then!" uttered Jessie. "If you want to impress them so much, then why don't you just get it over with already?!". Evan froze, was he really going to kill the one real friend he had left? "What do you think Chat?" he asked looking at the screen, "Should we let her go, or just say it was the Slime thing?" The Chat went wild. Many said horrible thing about Jessie, many said to get on with it, many felt pity, but the majority had chosen death. "Welp." Said Evan raising his Shock Stick. "Don't need to tell me twice.". Jessie closed her eyes. The last thing she heard was the shattering of her mask and a very faint "I'm sorry, Jessie.".
Evan became one of the most famous people on Spooktube. He now livestreams everything he does in The Old World. Everyone sees him as an unstoppable force who will always entertain them, but really, after he killed Jessie, Evan wanted nothing more than to stop. He puts on act to impress his viewers, because they were the only thing he had left. If you could even call them that...
The Worm:
Literally just an angry worm.

Personally i think some sort of event happened causing people to malform in different ways making this creatures. (Besides the machines i believe humans made em)
Here's how I sort of think it tho
I think it's sort of like the hell system in Ultrakill. Willpower and Strength make you stronger in hell. Now the only difference is instead of willpower it's things that happen in your life. So like for example snail people might have lots of memories or such taking care of snails. It causes you to malform into a snail person. But for things like big slap (or as I call Tank L4D2) I believe in life they had lots of strength but since they get left into the old world they malform to things life big slap.
However here's something different. For flicker I believe it's a sort of deity. A deity that mainly malform the people. So I think flicker might be responsible for this because no other creatures have powers to basically form the room red while forcing you to look at it only for you to die with absolutely not even being touched by flicker.
But hey this is my theory tho

Let me show a better explanation. Because this one's kind of old and stinky. Let me tell you the modern newer one. So I believe big slap. You know, because of the painting is the main monster and the first one, the 1 that started all the other 1. And I believe that the photo shows the past the past of the facility. And how it caused all of this because of that big swap dude, he caused all the other monsters and it's kinda unclear where it started, but there were a few possibilities that I won't really get into but the point is that because of him, the people who were once down there would then become ghost. And because of the ghost, it's the origin of the ghost. Kid in the buff, one because they are ghost and the reason why those people are kind of like them. It's because they are kind of worshipping the ghost in some way. You know they are becoming the memberships that collapse and how it became the old world. And the main point that take away is that I believe spoke tube. Is the true mastermind? I believe they may or may not have caused it on purpose and essentially use the old world and reform it becoming spooktube, and the old world is A. Send joy the truth of spooktube and how it is sensually formed from the shadows and done it all as a scheme. And used its corrupt power against us. Being our dream and having our own plan. And having it all be a part of spooktub and I believe that the streamer dude is an event. And it's the one and advanced 1, rising and us. The smaller one side of the big streamer, dude and I'd also believe that the angware fish doodle and some way with the due to war rush to him are awake the comments you know they are kind of like the people who comment when we upload.
And I believe because I spoke to that the sponsors experiment with the old world, you know. And the swide essentially shows the great Apocalypse of it shows. What once was the old world show the shadow of what was the old world before spoke to corrupted? Lee Rose on the top. Anyhow, I wanted to mention this. Not because I wanted to update it well. Sure, that was my reason, but there's also a far bigger one. Because there's a bigger much bigger thing beyond this game. That connects to the studio and it all connects to the archives. Now you might be thinking oh, those are the rejected games. No, they are the start of the rabbit hole because it proves that every other game is a simulation all connecting to it, all, showing something greater and it all connects to the military as one of us. It's been a soldier, essentially activates. The facility essentially goes within it. And I believe content warning is connected to the facility bringing the content of the games showing the content of it all and being a big part of it. Much like another one I found so far that being tabs as it's being tabs of the simulation being the evolution and essentially being all apart of the computer and each version of it essentially being tabs individual pieces of the computer of the simulation.
