Hi there, always enjoy your videos when I manage to watch one.obe your enthusiasm and knowledge and all around great guy vibe. You strike me as someone u would love to discuss my passion for music with. Love a lot of what you showed. Thanks for your great channel. Tino
Wow, Matt! Our tastes never converged more, than in this video. I have 8 (eight!!!) of the albums you picked. Either that, or someone's been raiding my collection and selling the albums to you in store :) Funkadelic: Maggot Brain (I just have a 2000s repress, though) Sonny Rollins: Saxophone Colossus Bobbi Humphrey: Blacks and Blues Gábor Szabó: Dreams - again, mine is just a repress. Curtis Mayfield: Curtis - if you like it, his Curtis Live album is one of the greatest live albums of all time, in my opinion. Daniele Luppi: Milano - I have been singing its praises in the FB group for ages. We are glad to finally have you on board. William Tyler: Goes West - yes, I love this album, too. Saw him live and he was just fantastic! He had two shows at the Le Guess Who festival in Utrecht one year (2016, I think). One solo, with loop pedals and all sorts of effects and one with a string quartet. Sopwith Camel: The Miraculous Hump Returns From The Moon - I found this album via Jonathan Wilson, who covered Fazon on his Fanfare album. Back then I didn't even know it was a cover, but I saw an interview with him where he was talking about music that inspired him and he mentioned this album (Andy Cabic of Vetiver introduced him to it). I'd never in a million years have made the association to 90s triphop, though. But now, spinning it again, I also do hear a ton of Morcheeba in it. :) You have a better ear for genres than I do. I'm SOOOO jealous of that Gilberto Gil album! These are my favourite types of your videos. I hope they do well.
Matt! The Sons record is still a mystery huh? Your shop was a highlight of my Portland trip. Really cool to see you took home a couple of my trade ins!
DESOLATION Boulevard, not Destination Boulevard. Sorry to correct you, but it's one of my favorite albums from my childhood. Sweet, There is an American version of the album and an English version with different tracks on them. You have the American version. Great video Matt.
@@TooManyRecords it's understandable. Great, great album. It kind of reminds me of Alice Cooper or even KISS type theatrical rock. Ballroom Blitz was my favorite song when it was released, but there are lots of really good songs on that album.
You also would like Heath. He releases hip-hop and singer songwriter projects and they're all excellent, playdough/Krum and he collab on almost every project
Prefab is amazing, the run from this record to Jordan, incredible 4 records of pop bliss. Paddy McAloon has the abilty to express well worn sentiments always in a unique way. The US version was called Two Wheels Good. Love your content Matt!
Nice Matt, you got that Maggot Brain finally. I’ve been jamming mine a lot this week. Such an incredible album. Always love these videos, a few of these are now on my search list. Loved hearing the shoutout to Prefab Sprout. I have the UK Steve McQueen OG and the US Two Wheels Good OG. I highly recommend you track down their next album From Langley Park To Memphis. As good as Steve McQueen. Also don’t listen to the haters Albert’s House is a great album. He lived a rough life and recorded this album after having all his teeth knocked out but it’s a testament to his genius that he created something so original when he could barely play his horn.
fyi, where trent reznors band name came from. i have been a nin/reznor fan, but *always* a coil fan. :) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/How_to_Destroy_Angels_(Coil_EP)
Love your enthusiasm

Everyday I pray for a drukqs reissue, that’s what I wish to take home some day!
I always wonder... if they do it, would they do that big box? lol
@@TooManyRecordsit’s a great point definitely, I just don’t have much faith of a reissue at this point. I just love seeing it In the videos!

oops. I have Destination Beautiful on the brain because Mae just reissued that.

Redd Kross - Third Eye. Annies Gone was the big single off that one.

..aand everybody now: FA FA FA FA FA FAZON FAAZON FAAAZON! 😁 awesome! sounds a bit like zero7 or morcheeba.. beautiful tune! thanks!
That Sopwith Camel album is great. Fazon is a great track but Orange Peel is where it’s at for me.
For the algorithm
That MF Bloo 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 i need that
I just picked up a Sons of Champlin double album, 1969 jazz rock with some psych so you are correct, I’m guessing it’s a boot?
It’s not! It was just a private press locally sold apparently.
Your store looks amazing.
Come visit!
Since you’re in the NW, do you come across Murder City Devils records by any chance? Always looking for their records
One so far.
Let me know if another Maggot Brain comes through the store...
first press? unlikely... :P
