the city design is just beautiful. This is one of the key aspects for me. I just love how immersive it feels (ignoring, of course, the shitty NPC's)
for modern city, yes agreed. But not for futuristic city
I see this game working out in the end with mods and such, though taking the No Mans Sky route where the developers turn it around would be preferred, but seems unlikely now. Still, I think will look back on it differently in 5 years.

I comeback to this video from time to time. Its like a meditation for me.This is how the game is mean to be play. Imagine the amount of work that went into creating this city, all the streets, locations, shops. All the details. Pretty sure it was done by hard hand made work. And you just showed a small fraction of the world! And the quality and atmoshpere is just incredible! Shame that most of the players will miss all the glory while playing just to see the story and gameplay.
I'm glad you enjoy the video! I think that most people rush through open world games too quickly, much as they do with the real world.

The 40 gigabytes of bug fixes patch (1.3) might make it more fun for you now. The game's still being worked on, and would be further fixed already (Probably up to a 1.4 or 1.5 patch) if not for hackers shutting down CDPR for months.
Everybody says that the story is really solid at least.
The worst thing about this game isn't bugs or unfinished things. It's glimpses of how perfect it could be here and there. I cry every time I think about it.

I'm playing through the second time. This game is awesome. The characters, the world, the story there is so much thought and creativity waiting to be experienced. I can see the bugs too, but they are not braking the game (anymore 🙃)

yeah the places are amazing, so many different detailed places to discover. I think they put all their resources into that instead of the AI, pathfinding, NPCs, etc.
Strange how this world seems so empty even though it is filled with cars and people...
Rdr2 has way less density but the interaction is more meaningful

Easily the most beautiful open world of any video game in history.... such a shame that it was hampered by avoidable issues. This is probably the closest any game has come to mirroring a real city.

Don't let thr first hour game play and put you down. There are lots of gold in this game, from the costume, background then slowly you will discover many sporty vehicles, places and characters and also weaponry.
Feels so real. That low 'roar' of the city reminds me of the ambient sound that's always there in Manhattan

They just hired a bunch of modders to help them fix the game once and for all.
This is the only game I felt I was visiting a real city, just walking around and driving slowly to see the city itself was a joy. The sad part is that after a while you start to notice the fake things and the missing content that would have elevated this experience to another level.
At absolutely no point did I feel immersed because the problems breaking the immersion were so numerous. Mario 64 is much more immersive.

@@rifster123 It had really strong writing in my opinion, I think it speaks volumes that even though I haven't played it again in a few months (waiting for the game to be fully updated/patched), I can still recall so many story moments, not to mention characters like Panam, Jackie, Viktor, Judy, Goro, even Claire, it had been a while since I last played a game with such a memorable cast of characters
And the art direction is also one of the strong points of the game, it just looks fantastic (when the game works well)
just absorbing in the atmosphere is pretty amazing, especially in rain at night it looks unreal.
Please do other games as well in the this style of video. I love these relaxing ambient walks!

@@dtrust68 there is mod that can allow you to fly. I personally climb around tram station rails and sometimes hop on the train roof to travel. + this allows me to access locked territories on map(unfinished) too and make photos from above and explore some areas on top

2077 has a fascinating appearance, but its inside is as frustrating as the cyberpunk world
A beautiful world that does a bad job of immersing players in it...and not just because of the bugs. The longer i spent in the game the less immersed i became, but it is a DECENT game overall. Which is a pitty because it had potential to be a MASTERPIECE.

Name one city that has more detail the Night City? Every corner is incredibly detailed. I waited years for a awesome Cyberpunk world to explore and I was not disappointed.

Despite what everyone thinks of this game, I love this game, Im not looking at it from an RPG aspect, but from a GTA Sandbox experience and I love every second of it, I often find myself rinding my futuristic car around Night City, doing a couple of missions, I also like the story, I really connect with the characters, I encounter little to no bugs in 1.3 version and I really believe this game will redeem itself, I mean I already enjoy the game right now and I can't wait for the upcoming updates and DLCs coming for it.

I'm willing to give them another chance in the future. Hopefully it'll be worth it before 2077

Here's a few features that might have made Night City the immersive and innovative game world that was promised:
- Bouncers throwing drunk men out of bars.
- Shopkeepers heckling passers by.
- Queues of people outside nightclubs.
- A building on fire.
- Customers dining at tables outside restaurants.
- Lots of people leaving a theatre all at once.
- A car crash in the street.
- People hailing taxis.
Instead we got nothing we haven't seen before. Just dozens of frequently duplicated NPCs shambling through a 3D render of whatever the heck the artists drew. Night City is lifeless.
The only real businesses we see in night city are sex shops and strip clubs... Where are the futuristic movie theaters, restaurants, sports venues? I would have loved to see that sort of thing.
Serious question here, but can you enter the buildings in Cyberpunk 2077?

Night City is something between Times square (New York City), Shibuya (Tokyo) and Hong Kong Atmosphere. I like this visuals.

I just wish they hadn't rushed the game, and delivered on their promises. When you watch this video, you can think of so many possibilities for interactions and gameplay depth, but in reality watching this video is about as in-depth as the city gets.

In this video you can already see the problem i had from the very first second i played this game: YOU CAN'T WALK SLOWLY! Unless you play with a controller. I never understood this. Such a beautiful city and you have to run through it all the time like a maniac.

Cyberpunk's major failure is not understanding how many assholes inhabit the city. Ie: story; if they had characters lamenting about their loss of humanity ala Witcher 3, that would have been ennersive. What we get is a soulless world. Patch it to reflect that, and we have an amazing game ala witcher. How did they miss this???

Yeah it happened all the time, certainly game breaking, not like GTA or Red Dead Redemption, no pop in there....
The trend of modern games is that the more time the developers spent on graphics, the less they paid attention to everything else, the more realistic the game looks, the more pointless and boring it is.
In this case, everything looks like some kind of long benchmark.

So many NPCs were spawned close to each other using the same state (or just walking animation?). E.g.:12:45 guys holding their arms and limping. There should be a minimal spawn distance for these...

I agree. I loved the game - didn't experience any of the headaches other people did but I played on PC. Im on my second time now as a Nomad
I play on ps4. I love the game. Maybe I'm showing my age when I say that not topping out the gfx doesn't bug me, and for whatever reason (I have a few theories) I didn't experience near the level of _catastrophic failure_ in gameplay that others seem to have. Played two lifepaths...saving one for ps5 or pc.

@@chell272 If you put a chair in a hypnotized person's path, and the hypnotist commands to them that there is no chair, they will simply walk around the chair and when questioned about the chair they will deny the chair's existence and say that they did not walk around it. A person asked to imitate a hypnotized person will crash into the chair. You display the behavior of a hypnotized person. The problems with this game, of which there are so many that it should have never been sold in stores, are so bad they are like the chair. Anyone pretending to enjoy the game will not be enough, they will crash into these problems. Only a person literally hypnotized could ignore the game's issues and after playing through such an abomination maintain the position that there WERE no issues.
Really hope many of these areas are fleshed out in later DLC's to have a reason to visit/quest in. As is, you miss so much of this as the game just has 'hotspots' of activity.

now they have the assets, rebuild the game engine with more dynamism, have a 3rd person mode, add an actual day/night virtual life cycle for npcs and game world, have 3 true separate gameplay for the 3 classes of character not just a difference in intros, and a barber/hairdresser shop for crying out loud. Take however much time you want, 3,5, 10 years, and re-release the game. It's a crime to have such an incredibly deep game world spoiled by half-assed and unfinished development

Yeah, I've been thinking of going back to do another one of these with the recent updates. I recorded nighttime because it's when I think Night City really shines visually, but a longer video showcasing the day/night cycle, as well as weather effects, might be in order.

Bro we can save the game ! We just need to have modding skills and knowledge, add watch dogs 2 AI, creating custom npc’s and place them thru the game for interactions, adding custom events there and there, and the game will be saved !!!

Games bug, it is what it is. Am I mad about some of the romance options? A little. Do I feel that some relationships in general were cut short? Yes.
However, with this new huge update coming next year, who knows, we could be getting a bunch of new dialogue and mission options, you know?
