@@markhung4765 yeah thats the problem when you put all your focus on making the car as aerodynamic as possible, but forget about the looks i guess. with the older (combustion engine) generations they hadnt had such problems.
I'm not sure if you have seen one in person, but trust me, I used to think it was ugly too until I saw one in person, the pictures and videos don't do justice to this car at all, I still don't get how it's possible because in real life it's simply gorgeous
@@muradaliyev9944 Yeah they are not that uncommon here in germany. Dont get me wrong, the car itself isnt that ugly. I just cant stand the roofline. The rear is gorgeous, the front is ok, but the side profile is just mad ugly (imo). Looks like a boat or something.
Edit: The price for that thing is absolutely ridicolous.
@@sgmque9400they don’t forget about the looks I think; it’s just prioritizing. In this case, if it does look “uglier” than previous generations, that’s because aerodynamics were prioritized over looks.
You found several major issues with Mercedes $130K car. Good review.
I purchased a 2022 EQS 580 Pinnacle about a month ago. I absolutely love it! In heavy traffic I activate strong recuperation; I rarely have to press the brake pedal. On the open road I activate intelligent recuperation and the car kinda knows what you need to do with regards to braking and driving. It is sooooo quite and rides sooooo good and is a pleasure to drive; always serene. It also feels much smaller than it is due to the rear steering. Do not buy it if you want to drive sporty. But if you want quite, relaxing, impressive and good range, definitely a car for you. I drove a Lucid Air Grand Touring and was considering that as well. Awesome car but I think I would get tired of the wining noise every time you press the pedal; it does drive and ride awesome.
Mercedes has become so talented at making the inside of the car beautiful and the outside the ugliest monstrosity I've ever laid my eyes on.

Mercedes design language is very bizarre for the past few years. It all seems way overdone and overcomplicated for no obvious reason other than increasing the price of their vehicles.

@@alvialam4200 we are talking about mercedes, the cheapest mercedes (in US) is 35k A220. Unless you give me a source where you get that the average people are paying for a mercedes is 45k i say that's bullshit

I'm only seeing downsides to the upgraded screen. 1: Passengers can mess with your music, etc; and 2, when it's off the glare is annoying. What's the plus side? Novelty and just more screens?

The brake is totally fine for me. Its the gas pedal that I dont like. Feels stiff. Also MB need to update MBUX to give option to shrink or pan center screen to block the left 1/8 of it thats not visible. Its actually very annoying when driving, especially with GPS
No Topher sound system test? Must not be adequate for a $134,000 automobile. When the car got loose and needed counter steer wonder if the typical buyer in this price range with less talent would put it in the weeds. Love how you cover the whole automobile spectrum.

Just the camera shutter syncing with the HUD framerate. Like flickering PWM lights and IR LEDs, it shouldn't be visible in person.

Same dumb comments about the brakes. In normal (default) mode the brakes are perfectly consistent and the pedal doesnt move by itself. The braking distances are the same as a porsche Taycan. Extraordinary short.

The exterior of a car makes it or breaks it for me, and I gotta say the exterior of this is VERY lackluster, still a GREAT car tho
the only word I can use to describe the exterior is "bulge" but the interior is nice except for the hyperscreen lol

That exterior is horrendous for a $140k car.
Had a look at this car here in Bangkok. The materials, buttons and stalks feel cheap. Plasticy as if fitted to a budget car. No. Not acceptable at that price level and for a "premium" brand. Journalistvshould faff about that fact a lot more frankly. Somehow the manufacturers need to be make aware of this. Not talking about it is a mistake and we just get a roll over Beethoven. It's the same with the SClass. Poor quality materials. Unbelievable. Lexus cars are build much better with better material. Audi in their cheaper products are exactly the same. Feels cheap. BMW as well although overall Audi and BMW are better build than Merc using higher quality plastics and materials.
