I love making crumb blocks but have not put them together yet. When I have a quilters dead-head, I piece crumbs...no pattern or reason - just fit them together. Love your ideas to make them and look forward to more in the future. Pat, I luv luv luv your videos, challenges and patterns. You're THE BEST! God bless...
For many years I would fill a Postage Bag with all my scraps - I made samples up for shops and lots of class samples for workshops - I had A LOT of scraps. When the bag was full I would send it off to a friend who had moved to Northumberland (hundreds of miles away) and she would share with the ladies in her new group. They would all be making crumb blocks. They were thrilled and I kept a tidy space. 😇 A parcel arrived at my home and they had made me a quilt out of some of the fabrics that I sent 🥰. A lovely surprise. There are MANY crumb quilts keeping them all warm. Like your method of making them - I might even have a go myself 😉🤦🏼♀️
Thank you for explaining your process making a crumb block. I really like that you explained why you are leaving them the size they are until you are ready to use them.
Hi Pat enjoyed the segment on crumb blocks. I have tons of scraps so what neat project. I would like to see you do a one topic series every once in awhile. I so enjoy our daily get together so please don't stop doing those
Love crumb blocks, have been making them for a few years in 6 and a half inch squares..have over a hundred! Have made a sleeping bag for my granddaughters doll as one project. Waiting for inspiration for rest. It’s a good project to just calm and relax me.
I liked the crumb block idea you have so much to teach us & you have been so generous with your time during lockdown ....somedays you were all the normal in my day!!
Yes from me, too! It is great to hear someone tell me their way of doing. It's really nice just to hear someone talk; it's been a long year for me, sheltered in place. What fun! Thank you for sharing. Stay well & safe!! pj!
I am keeping all my crumbs from sewcialites, guess I better start piecing a few crumb blocks. I got one top quilted yesterday, and another started today yay!!!! It’s progress. Thank you Pat for all your inspiration.
"When dalmatians wear lipstick"!!!! Oh my, how cute & funny :) I agree on the bees wings-when I looked at the kit/quilt I couldn't even see the wings until I zoomed in!! I love crumb blocks. At one of our retreats years ago-the ones who wanted to participate-made I think 16 small blocks. I think they were about 3 or 4" square. We then laid them out on a table & you went thru & picked whatever the number was we designated from each person's pile. It was great fun to see the variety of fabrics. I made a small wall hanging with mine using sashings between the blocks. I also have lots of strips saved to sew onto adding machine tape! I saw it on a video & that looks fun, too :)
I would be very happy if you would do a few segments of how to make crumb quilts. I loved this video today but would love to watch a longer series. It would be greatly appreciated as I have tons of scraps-some big and some small!
Enjoyed your crumb quilt technique. Have seen others, but yours works better with my controlled scrappy mentality. Your plan to not immediately square it up was great also because it doesn't lock you in to a specific use. Always enjoy seeing/learning new techniques and ideas for utilizing small often trashed pieces of fabric. Look forward to a tutorial type of option from time to time.
Pat. In answer to your question about the show format, I like the way you do it now. This show is the best because you DO cover several things in one show. All your different projects and techniques. And when you show how you chose your fabrics is my favorite part. You explain why you do what you do , or don't do something. I like your style. Thanks.
We must be more adventurous and spontaneous than a lot of quilters. Or maybe we have a touch of AADD. I like a variety of information, as you are now doing, on your videos. Thanks Pat.
I prefer the variety. Sometimes my attention span has a hard time following a straight line; however it works very well jumping around subject to subject. Doesn’t use up my mental resources as quickly as following a straight line every day. Love your videos this past year! And before!
A small series on quilting with crumb blocks does interest me and I would definitely watch those videos. I enjoyed watching your method of putting the pieces and colors together. I've just subscribed and will watch for notification of your crumb block series. Thanks so much.
I like the idea of learning one technique. I make crumb blocks but now after watching you, I've learned new tricks and tips! I'm a visual learner and you have been an inspiration to me! 🥰
Loved today’s video. I have bought most of your books since last summer! I have been a “quilter” since 1983. My first class was in Silver Springs, MD and it was all hand sewing and quilting! I was a full time worker and mom and military spouse, moving almost every 2 to 3 years. I didn’t get to quilt mush during those years, but the love was still there. My challenge is still with colors. I have your book and several others, but still have trouble grasping it. A class or series on that would be great! I start every mornin with your video from the day before. Thanks so much!
Technique videos are always fun! There are so many ways to do things, plus with so many new sewists/quilters joining our ranks, it would be good to help give them “lessons” that aren’t available readily right now. Some of us veterans might benefit from refreshers, too🤓
Love, love the crumbs! NOW I know what to do with all my little scraps that I can't part with and still make them useful! I also like the idea of the different segments. Thanks Pat👍🐰
Yes, would love to see a whole segment on crumb blocks. I learned a great deal tonight. I have saved my scraps, and now I know how to sew them into a block. Thank you so much. Thank you for teaching quilting to a wide audience and including new quilters like me.
I enjoyed the lesson on crumb blocks and would love more of the same. You're such a great teacher and I've learned so much from you. I look forward to learning more! Thanks for all the time and energy you put into your channel! 💕
I love the format you have now. It’s like a quilty morning talk show. But the tutorial was much appreciated. I have a wall hanging that’s made with scraps and I have been struggling to piece it and this tutorial helped me so much!
I loved learning about crumb blocks. I already try to trim extra fabric and sort into zippy bags but now I know what to do with them. Thank you! I love the idea of segments!
I love the Bee panel quilt. The grey honeycomb fabric would make great bee wings. I am really looking forward to see this quilt done. You are such a fast sewist Pat!
I have done “strip blocks” on papers so they are all the same but I have a ton and haven’t put them together yet! It would be fun to hear your ideas on those and I love how you used even smaller crumbs to develop a block!! Thanks
These are cute, they also can be made leaving the angles and just keep going and then squaring it when it is as big as wanted. Relaxing and fun. Thanks for the inspiration. 🙂
Loved, loved the examples of crumb fabric construction. I have been saving the “littles” for years, but did not know how to use them...but loved the fabric and did not want to trash the littles. Thank you!

Pat, I luv luv luv your videos, challenges and patterns. You're THE BEST! God bless...
I do like one method videos. This one was great. Much nicer and more organized (and just as easy) as the crazy quilt way.
