Pity they didn’t show what happened to Wayne Gardner and John Briggs, I thought they were gonna get into fisticuffs but fortunately the marshals didn’t let that happen.
I just learned from Aaron Noonan's V8 Sleuth podcast (ep. 245) that that car is the one that Mark Larkham and his team painstakingly built into the Mitre 10 Ford Falcon. This was the demise of that chassis.

That car that was destroyed in the accident was Mark Larkham’s original Mitre 10 Falcon from 1995
