I enjoyed listening to this, it was interesting and refreshed my memory as I’m re playing through Fable 2 then 3. They were my fav as a child and still are. I’m excited for fable 4
funny thing if you take into consideration the entire timeline of the games one of them does end up living inside the castle and ends up the greatest hero in the world and the most beloved ruler of the land
I loved the music box and listening to it play. Listening to your lore videos really gets me into the mood for the fable series. Don’t know if I should play 1 or 3 though.
So many unanswered questions though. Its always bothered me. Who created the box and for what purpose? It makes sense that you would use the ritual to "power up" the music box the same way the ritual is also used to power up the spire with will-energy....But why does it also require the hero to be knocked into a dream world? And why does this dream world require the hero to pass a "test"? Or maybe the hero's whole life was this test? ...Either way it just randomly and conveniently teleports you five feet in front of Lucien.. and then its suddenly a weapon?......I know the music box is supposed to be mysterious but i just wish they explained it a bit more in fable 3 or maybe in a book or something. It Just feels a little disjointed but that might also be a product of fable2's rushed ending... A more detailed breakdown on its functionality and limitations would be awesome but i know we wont be getting that anytime soon.
I can't remember where I found this, and the Fable wiki isn't helping me, but if I recall correctly, it was made by people in the Old Kingdom SPECIFICALLY to thwart the Spire. Which is kinda ironic considering it certainly didn't help when the Old Kingdom effectively nuked itself but ig saving it for saving the world over the Old Kingdom was their priority.
@@dustrose8101 That makes sense (I suspect the box was crafted by Sythe or jack of blades) but it still doesn't explain how its able to grant wishes or why it transported the hero into the dreamworld.....I know some things are better left a mystery but my inner nerd is dying to know the exact specifications of the music box....Its a highly fascinating relic!
@@drag00n77 I've seen speculation that the dream world was a test to see if Sparrow was different from Lucien and could resist the allure of using the Spire for their own desires, what with The Perfect World being literally everything Sparrow ever wanted with their family alive and a stable home. You even hear Rose's voice say "You have passed the test" at the end of the sequence. The wishes part I really don't know, its a little random to make the Magic Succ artifact be effectively a monkey's paw??? It's also not explained why we need all 4 Heroes to resummon it. Like where did it go after Rose and Sparrow made their first wish? It's a real shame it effectively disappeared after Sabine was given it. I'm actually surprised he didn't give it back to us, like what exactly is he supposed to do with it?
@@dustrose8101 Exactly. I feel like Fable 3 was a missed opportunity to expand on old Kingdom lore like the music box. TBH i think F3 had the weakest story in the series.
Wonderful video, very interesting and informing I can't stop watching them lol. Your voice is really soothing and nice to listen to, I always use your videos to help me go to sleep 😅
@@Skyrionn this playlist was my first exposure to you, had the sudden urge to listen to some fable lore while I worked and powered through the whole thing in one go lol and every time a video ended I found myself saying it lol I didn’t even conciously remember that line
(I doubt anyone will get what I’m specifically trying to reference, as the videos were pretty old, and were removed from TH-cam sometime within the last two years and I am still sad because they were some of my favourite videos on TH-cam).
honestly, sabine doesnt deserve the music box, if anything, the player should have returned it to brightwall afterwards, thats like giving away your familys ancient heirlooms...
Well she was aware of the power of the music box and manipulates the Hero of Bower Lake into buying it but it wasn't 100% how Murgo acquired it. I asked Dene Carter (the person who created Fable) and he gave me some suggestions on how Murgo got it.
What people fail to realize, is that the hero of brightwall was not "chosen" or "inherited" the hero of bowerstones hero abilities. In fable 2 you go to the chamber of fate to "awaken" their heroic deciplines. Walter introduced the hero of brightwall to their fathers guild seal and "awakend" the hero of brightwall's deciplines. Logan very well could have been much like reaver ( a hero tyrant) if Walter chose to awaken his disciplines instead. It's all in the bloodline.
I always loved the music box, idk why but it's just such a chilling item.
Me too ! I have always loved it as well. Currently re playing fable 2 then moving on to 3 !
One of my big “when I have enough money” goals is to commission an artist to make me a real, solid metal music box replica. I can’t wait to do that.
Always look forward to your Fable videos, cheers :)
Glad you like them! Thanks for stopping by!

I miss murgo.... He was the comic relief of traders! And he is arguably one of the bigger characters..... They even name dropped him in fable 3!
He was underrated forsure!

Fable 2 and 3 needs a remaster
I honestly think the music box was supposed to be used to drain the hero of their will in case he went mad.
Thats an interesting theory but why did it send the hero into a dreamworld? Who built it? so many unanswered questions!
I’ve only played fable 3 due to only finding a copy in a GameStop but I’m planning on playing 1 and 2 soon! Looking forward to lore videos!
My man puts all this effort in script writing, research, and editing just to get lest than 10k views? How?
The channel is a work in progress. Slowly but surely more people will come!
It's downright criminal he doesn't have more subs!

I'm playing them in order rn. Almost finished with 1 and excited to play 2 again. Lol

Wow, thank you! Not the first time I've been told that :P
I always hated just giving such a valuable, powerful, and significant item to "earn their trust".
one of my favourite tracks in fable was the music box theme
I listened to the whole playlist to this point getting frustrated that he wasn’t saying tatty-bye. Good to see he solved that particular issue
Tatty-bye was actually a meme with the channel live streams. I say it at the end of every stream

I'm getting around to some content on it. Any suggestions?

Bro I was just playing Fable 2 and 3 yesterday and I too was curious about the music box! :D!
I subtly said to myself as I picked up the music box in Fable 3
"The Lore behind, the music box"
Apparently it's a thing that people do now :P
Such an interesting episode Love it
This was one of my favourites!
I'm curious, what clothes and attributes do you use for your Sparrow?
The music box, my favorite character
Great character arch :D
Time to defeat Lucien with the power of rock ‘n’ roll!

I just capture them within game. Some stuff may be aided by some modifications ;)
"A man dressed in yellow" hmmm looks like Scythe is still around
Very good video man
Do we know much lore about the old kingdom and how advanced they got?
There's bits of information. I guess I could compile a video about them?

Was about Theresa?
What about her? The box was the focus of the video, but maybe soon I'll dedicate a video to Theresa!
Hmm, interesting, maybe I’ll include it in my game hehehe
?
It'd be a good thing to include!
I'd rather live with rose at home
Anyone else pissed off that fable on xbox one is no longer playable
I hadn't noticed! I just play on pc now.
Does someone in the audience struggle to hear? You. Talk. Like. This. About. The. Box. Through. History. Otherwise, thanks for doing this. 👍
These earlier videos were absolutely a learning curve. If you check out the more recent videos, you'll see a huge difference
