What they need to do is an animated series once the series is done (whether that be by George or one of his underlings after he dies) and follow the books exactly
House Tyrell out of all the major houses is in a position to win the most. They are married to the King, but make up the entire small council with Mace as hand. Mace doesn't have to worry about Highgarden since Willas can be lord and Garland can lead armies. Olenna can scheme with zero rivals or threats from the safety of Highgarden. Loras if he is truly healthy is a King's Guard theat Tommen looks up to. They still have by far the biggest army in Westeros as both Mace and Randall Tarley both have massive armies. The Tyrells also have no beef with the North, Riverlands, or the Vale, meaning no matter who has control over those by the end game, the Tyrells will have no issue with them. They are obviously allied with the Lannisters, but the Lannisters are quite weak, and with Jamie leading what is left of their army in the Riverlands, the Lannisters are really no threat. They could easily cast off the Lannister alliance to side with Aegon and use Tommen as a pawn to control the Westerlands, installing him as Lord Paramount. Then their relationship with Dorne is rocky, but Oberyn and Willas did become friends. Doran and Arianne aren't the types to shun a Tyrell aliance. The only real issue for the Tyrells is how unstable Cersei is and Euron by Oldtown. But Euron is fighting The Hightowers and the Redwynes at the same time, literally the two strongest houses of the Reach. While Euron will almost certainly succeed with his evil plans, the Iron Born's cause will fail spectacularly. There is almost zero chance the fleet survives, and with Victarion half way across the world, once that is taken care of, the only real threats are Dany from the East and the Long Night.
4:10 always puzzled me how this line of though about battles and 1v1 situations being a rare thing goes over the head of most training we see in the show. It's always basic 1v1 training and never preparing men or even most lords or knights for the chaos that is real battle.
The only fairy tail knight in the book. He's my favorite but that's always made me suspicious. Either he's hiding something or something very bad is going to happen.

i kinda like and dislike the way how show changed tyrells. olenna is intelligent, cunning and sarcastic but she's much more respected in the show, even tywin seemed to treat her as his equal which is something that he would never do in the books. mace tyrell doesn't have a single quote, he is just a stupid and useless guy that nobody cares about. but in the books even though he wasn't very bright, he was still a powerful lord. loras was not much more than the gay knight who would sleep with any men when they show affection to him. in the books, he was considered one of the best fighters in westeros despite his young age. his sexuality was not publicly known, also he stayed loyal to renly 'till the very end. margaery was a smart, bright, manipulative and seductive goddess. she was still friends with sansa even after she married tyrion. in the books she's still smart, bright and manipulative but far less seductive (which is understanable since she was only 16 and far less sexually experienced). the absence of willas and garlan is the worst part for me though. even george martin said he was unhapy with this change...
not too mention the biggest disservice: "our House sigil is a rose, so we suck at fighting"... like, holy shit man? House Tyrell is a much more interesting than show gave them credit for.
@@MyUserTubeAccount Yep, that useless Rose was the only Kingdom that supported Aerys besides Dorne (which Doran admits is not really a powerful military power), meaning the former easily provided the biggest part of the Loyalist forces. Garlan and Jason mallister are definitely my favourite 2 minor characters in the show. Shoutout to Robar Royce also!
Growing Strong! Yeah baby!!
One of my favorite characters
"Tyrells are rich but fighting was never their forte."
Me when Garlan the Gallant fights 3 or 4 people at a time to practice:
Garland the goat
Garlan is a Chad
1:28 I wasn't paying attention for a second and thought Garlan said he has an uncle named "Garth Brooks" which immediately caught my attention lol
What they need to do is an animated series once the series is done (whether that be by George or one of his underlings after he dies) and follow the books exactly
100%
no talk about hotd trailer?
First to take the Black 🖤
I never forgot about him, he's easily my favourite Tyrell. By the way, you kinda forgot to put "kinda" in the title.
OOOoooohhhhh that's why people thought they saw Renly's ghost.
my favorite character, He's one of the few true knights in Westeros
Reach and Dorne conspiracy is a tingh, Stromlands also but Renly died
Good Dude Garlan.
Willas is of course the heir, he would never have to earn his way through the world as a knight, like a second or third son.
4:10 always puzzled me how this line of though about battles and 1v1 situations being a rare thing goes over the head of most training we see in the show. It's always basic 1v1 training and never preparing men or even most lords or knights for the chaos that is real battle.
Shoutout my boy Robar Royce done dirty
I really do hope that he gets a POV chapter at some point but please please not a prologue because that poor someone always diesss
The only Tyrell i like and one of my top faivurate characters ever
GOT CONTENT! Call the bois!
The only fairy tail knight in the book. He's my favorite but that's always made me suspicious. Either he's hiding something or something very bad is going to happen.
littlefinger tried to kill tyrion lannister but failed and only he was involved
totally
the WORST part was show actually has Petyr demonstrate the phony glass jewels, yet somehow during Tyrions trial Pycelle whips it out, and says "we found residue of a the Strangler", like, how? you have a lab?
What happened? I do not remember that.
Good Guy Garlan sounds like a G
Are you gonna break down the new house of the dragon trailer?
They just kind of forgot about Garlan
WC!!!!!
shoulda named the video: “the tyrell time forgot”
idk, it sounds better haha
Garlan the Goat
Have you considered doing videos about purely comparing story to the books and the show? Like reek and dorne?
Garland should've been included imo
Garlan the gallant... pah! More like Garlan THE BADASS
finally some good words about ma bois
What would have been margarets choices to pick from who were her kings guard at that time ? In the books i am not sure if its same than in the series.
It’s a dang shame they took out garland from the show. Hearing about him, dude seems low key OP. A outrageously good knight, hyper aware, can deal with court intrigue with relative ease, good with his words, well respected. Probably good thing they didn’t put him in GoT. He would have became the main character lol
Great video! I always thought Ser Garlan was an underrated character. Certainly one of my favourite side characters. He leaves you wanting more from him, a man rare honour in Westeros.
Good video
I wonder how Jaime could capture High Garden if Garlan was in the show.
Hey why create love the content On your Game of Thrones and song of ice and fire Theories and content. I have A subject/question For you Even an idea for a video to do . I just rewatched Game of Thrones And finished season 8 which was a very hard pill to swallow to get through that as you very well know On how that season , my question is this though What fate will happen with Gendry In the end of Georges series ? Depending which way George takes with the books like for example in the show version John Is sentenced the black Danny is dead as well as cersei And in the book version Faegon as well And it ends up to be a vote amongst the high lords it's the high lords on who is to be king and gendry is legitimized by either Dany or stannis Wouldn't gendry technically be the king And no need for a vote. Sorry if this comment doesn't make sense I was using speech text Rumbling around my words, Hope my point gets across and you see what I'm trying to say lol
Why is this the first garlan the gallant video I've seen? Where are others?
i kinda like and dislike the way how show changed tyrells. olenna is intelligent, cunning and sarcastic but she's much more respected in the show, even tywin seemed to treat her as his equal which is something that he would never do in the books.
mace tyrell doesn't have a single quote, he is just a stupid and useless guy that nobody cares about. but in the books even though he wasn't very bright, he was still a powerful lord.
loras was not much more than the gay knight who would sleep with any men when they show affection to him. in the books, he was considered one of the best fighters in westeros despite his young age. his sexuality was not publicly known, also he stayed loyal to renly 'till the very end.
margaery was a smart, bright, manipulative and seductive goddess. she was still friends with sansa even after she married tyrion. in the books she's still smart, bright and manipulative but far less seductive (which is understanable since she was only 16 and far less sexually experienced).
the absence of willas and garlan is the worst part for me though. even george martin said he was unhapy with this change...
not too mention the biggest disservice: "our House sigil is a rose, so we suck at fighting"... like, holy shit man? House Tyrell is a much more interesting than show gave them credit for.
@@MyUserTubeAccount Yep, that useless Rose was the only Kingdom that supported Aerys besides Dorne (which Doran admits is not really a powerful military power), meaning the former easily provided the biggest part of the Loyalist forces. Yet the Reach and Dorne (and small lords who remained loyal to the throne) helped King's Landing fight the powers of the Vale, the Stormlands, the North, and the Riverlands, and resisted for close to a year. Not bad for a Kingdom which never had fighting as its "forte"...
@@MyUserTubeAccount a rose . They obviously never read about the wars of the Rose's. Three royal familys ( Lancaster, york and Tudor) all famous especially the first two for battle.
@@edwinsoto6932 certainly. the forces of the reach combined with targaryens were strong enough to hold the throne... until the greedy lord mace tyrell decided to keep his 80.000 men in the storm's end. otherwise, the north, vale and river lands would fall. but let's not forget, it was the randyll tarly's forces that beat robert's army, literally the only defeat of robert.
@@themachiavellianprince1881 You are forgetting, and, remembering incorrectly. The all combined might and power of the Reach itself could hold the throne. Yes Lord Mace might be greedy, he is also smart, strategic and cunning. Instead of going to war, he kept his army. none to minimal casualties, he is hand of the king and most likely regent, he has half of the small council, father of the queen and he did all that without banging his chest like a silverback in a dick measuring contest on the battle field. He is the most powerful man in Westeros. Randyll Tarly was leading and commanding Mace's host for the siege of Stormsend, it was not his own. The Reach can rally 100k+ all together not just Tarly.
