    I've been binging on your videos and I love them! Most brands of plain Greek yogurt are too tart but the Fage 2% is so smooth and creamy. I totally recommend it.

    You're so right. That plain Greek yogurt is so tart by itself! I really like the idea of adding vanilla extract and cinnamon. I'll have to try that! Do you have any videos talking about your take on 0%fat yogurt vs 2%? I've heard good and bad and would love to hear your point of view in a video!

    great information! another thing to note is the price on those ones you showed with 18 and 16 g of sugar - they are so expenive not to mention packed with sugar. as where the non-fat greek stuff in my opinion is (HUGE container from SAMS) is under $3.00 and lasts me about 10 days

    Sorry guys but as Greeks from Greece told me the other day, the stuff that is sold in America is Greek in name only. It is not actually Greek yogurt; they said it doesn't even taste the same.

      Thanks so much for watching! Whole wheat pasta is higher in vitamins, minerals, and fiber, so it is a better choice if you're going to make pasta at home. Personally I love pasta and wouldn't want to cut it out of my diet, I just have a small portion each time I have it! (Think the size of your fist) And I don't eat it all the time :)

    You have to add in carbohydrates turn into glucose (blood sugar) which raises the total amount of sugar in a serving size. Also vanilla extract and cinnamon do contain sugar.

    More fat content in yogurt is absolutely fine and healthy as long as the sugar content is low. Mixing fat and sugar is not a good combination but fat with protein is a healthy choice. Too many people are scared of fat when around 60% of your brain is fat. Your body needs it! The secret is the right combination of foods and not eating all day but having around 1 to 2 meals daily and preferably in a 2 to 6 hour eating window.

    When they remove the fat they add sugar to compensate. I eat the full fat yoghurt and add sweetener stevia or erythritol with zero glycemic index. all sugar is natural, comes from sugar cane or sugar beat. Just is high impact load is why it’s bad for you, diabetes, heart disease, inflammation, Alzheimer’s etc not to mention tooth decay

    What's funny is that all the Greek yogurt brands are not the same as the ones we have in Greece. They basically sell them everywhere else but in Greece it seems. Kinda weird. I hadn't even heard of Chobani until a few minutes ago. Not a single one of the popular Greek yogurt we eat here in Greece was even mentioned in this video.

    So if the sugar is low, would a just a plain store brand be okay? Like Walmart Greek yogurt? Or any other grocery store.

    • @BeccaBristow
      @BeccaBristow  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep! Sugar is sugar, so store brand is completely okay! The only real difference between the name brands (ex. Chobani) vs. the store brands is the variety/number of different kinds of live active cultures that are in the yogurt. Chobani may have for example 5 different types of beneficial bacteria present in the yogurt vs. a store brand may only have one or two. That's the only real difference!

      @BeccaBristow  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Olivia Zhao Personally I don't eat regular yogurt because I don't think it's worth it or filling at all (very little protein, usually a decent amount of sugar). That being said, I never really look at those labels so I don't have one I would recommend. I would give greek yogurt another try! It's a much better option, and the more you eat it the more you will get used to the difference in texture :)

    Beware viewer! Chobani is not an actual Greek yogurt. It is not produced in Greece! The term "Greek" is a non-protected term that was used by the Chobani company to trick its customers into associating the product with famous Greek yogurt. However, it's actually produced in New York. Fage is, on the other hand an authentic Greek yogurt. Buy Fage, who doesn't lie to you about the product that it is.

      Idiot, if you look at the glycemic index, fruit takes a while to process in your body, meaning the sugar is absorbed very slowly and doesn't spike your blood sugar. Also fruit have many other benefits that make them necessary in your diet. Yeah don't over eat on fruit, because eventually that slow absorbing sugar will accumulate, but have them in moderation and especially as replacements to sugar.

    Many of those are fake greek yogurt. Instead of straining out the whey, concentrating the protein, while reducing the sugar, they add thickeners. The thing about the Oikos brand, is that it was used by Stoneyfield, which makes real greek yogurt. Due to the popularity of Oikos, Dannon bought the rights to use the Oikos name simultaneously for about a year while Stoneyfield Oikos was slowly phased out. Also Yoplait greek yogurt, was not only not greek yogurt, it wasn't yogurt at all. After a lawsuit, they began making actual yogurt, but their regular line is still a mixture of industrial by-products thickened with fish gelatin to mimic yogurt, with none of the healthy bacteria.
    Also, just because you don't like something, doesn't mean it tastes bad. You don't seem to understand that your opinions are subjective, and not objective. If you've ever wondered why people like ugly colors, while you like pretty ones, it's because your opinions are just that, opinions.

      Also, this is to help you, please don't take it as an insult, but a couple English grammar tips. You'd either say, "why it became so popular, or why it has become so popular." Became is the simple past form of become implies something that is no longer happening. "It has become" would be the present perfect, and would refer to something which has occurred, and continues to this day. You would never mix the past form with the perfect form, as it's redundant, aside from being grammatically incorrect.
      Speaking on the subject of redundancy, one would say "much higher." Higher is the comparative form of high, it already means an increase, therefore "more" is unnecessarily. I only say this, as it will help you with your profession in the future.
