It doesn't divide the pie pieces into separate objects when I paste it as a picture with enhanced metalife. What could I be doing wrong?

What worked for me was to copy the original shape then Paste Special as Picture (SVG). Then right-click and select Convert to Shape. That way it can be separated into objects.
