Dana's reflection in the microwave is one of the funniest things in this video by far. The "why am i holding a potato" face is absolutely perfect. Give her my heartfelt congratulations for a show well done.
Pffffff I'd only been half watching before seeing this comment, I though they were just holding the puppets up to a stationary microwave that makes this even funnier
Making Gourgeist a sweet potato puppet already had me laughing, but pulling out a WHOLE ASS MICROWAVE to represent the Rotom made me laugh so hard I disturbed my neighbors. Your bits are the best of any Poketuber, I swear.
Here’s a tip for future Kalos run throughs: the Snorlax blocking the road is holding a Sitrus berry. If any if your Pokemon can learn Thief you can get a really early Sitrus berry to either garden early or just to equip your Pokemon in the Grant fight. That might have saved Minun’s life.
You can also get Cheri berries before the Cyllage City Gym by showing a Pokémon of the proper type to the man in the top left house in Camphrier Town. That’s what I did: got the Cheri berry, planted it to get more, and swept Grant with my Mienfoo Chun-li.
13:48, 37:44 - Apparently, Ampharos has always been partially based on a dragon, as its Japaenese name "Denryu" means both "electric current" and "electric dragon". ⚡🐉 Bulbapedia even mentions that "During the development of Pokémon Gold and Silver, Ampharos was stated to be an Electric/Dragon-type Pokémon".

Seeing a big microwave appear during the puppet show finale made me burst out laughing haha As for Pikaclones, I absolutely adore Togedemaru. Great signature move and it’s decent in battles too
The development of each "confide" in the champion fight was almost as jarring as Zues's development from barely being able to kill an Amaura to one-shotting an Aurorus with a Brick Break
If you're taking suggestions I had a fun time playing a No Gender Nuzlocke, where I could only use Pokemon that had Undiscoverable Genders: Golurk, Magnemite, Lunatone, etc. It was a seriously challenging run but also really rewarding. The unexpected MVP of the run was my Solroc named Apollo.
Never stop the bit. I'll end up listening to you in the background of what I'm doing because you explain what's going on well enough I dont need to watch 24/7. I'll occasionally watch the important hard fights, but no matter what I ALWAYS watch the paper puppet bit. It's a highlight of every single one of your videos
QOTD: I really like Mimikyu. It's a funny subversion on the Pikaclone trope, and has a really interesting design in general. I also have a soft spot for Emolja, due to being a massive Gen V stan (also because my friend hates it and it's very fun to pester him with Emolja gifs)
Mimikyu was a favorite Pokémon for me as soon as I saw it in the reveal trailers. I love the typing, and the Mimikyu Song really made me fall in love with it.
Kalos is so fun to watch you monolocke. I've got to say, it's significantly more fun to watch when you have the same pokemon as the gym leader (in a region where the 8th gym has 3 mons lol) as it brings a little more difficulty to bossfights that should be hard. Super excited to see the next challenge!
The gym leaders only having 3 Pokemon each is wild. I think the first gym leader should have 3, the second 4, the fourth 5, and everything after the 5th should have six. And all the elite four should as well, of course.
Words cannot describe how excited I was to see this was there was a Kalos playthrough knowing the incredible Diantha production that would be at the end. Words also cannot describe the loud cackle I let out when you brought out your actual f**king Microwave during the fight. Thank you so much for following through so hard on your bits all the time.
Flygonhg: Looks like I’m gonna have to sacrifice Rotom. Rotom: Oh hell no!!! I’m not about to die today!!! Proceeds to kill the Gardevoir that was going to kill him.
QOTD: Pachirisu for obvious reason if you’re into VGC. Absolute amazing performance by Sejun that year, really showed that good team building is everything.
Without a doubt that was the best Kalos champion battle I ever watched. I was already laughing with the Remy and Emile puppets, but I died when the whole ass microwave appeared. Excellent performance from you both Matti and Dana 👏👏
The Starlight loss was absolutely devastating. Great job for remembering that Ability and preventing further casualties tho. Also, bringing in the entire microwave during the puppet fight took me out. RIP to Shazam, I can't believe the watery grave he received in the end. Harsh. Never stop with the paper puppets.
Rock Tomb was boosted to 60 power and 95 accuracy in Gen 6, compared to 50 power and 80 accuracy previously, which is why it wasn’t missing as often as you expected it to.

if you've never played wilting y, you absolutely should! it's a difficulty/catch-em-all hack by the same person behind inclement emerald, it was probably the most fun i've had with a gen 6 game. also, the paper puppet show this time around is absolutely the best one so far
I haven’t been so scared in your challenge runs for awhile as I was while you talked about switching Rotom into Earthquake. That was almost Scrappy Miltank all over again.
Congrats on coming clean about the Boston University biking accident. You have kept quiet for years, but finally you speak up. That's very brave of you.
Gotta go with pachirisu as my favorite, first game was diamond and since I was a clueless child I was getting beat by trainers with pachirisus. This obviously meant that pachirisu was god tier and thus deserved a spot on my team.
The Paper puppet show at the end is why I love this channel so much, from raichu and Dedenne being replaced by ratatouille characters to using a microwave for rotom, it was really funny to watch.
QOTD: My favorite pika-clone is definitely Dedenne! It’s just so cute and the fairy type stab it gets helps it edge above the rest of the other pika-clones.
Flygon, your videos ALWAYS make me smile. Your gameplay demonstrates how good at the games you are and how aware of every little factor, and that same awareness and attention to detail shines in your extra content per video. You're a great content creator, and watching you have fun is some of the most genuine fun I get anymore. So thank you for your incredible playthrough. My favorite pikaclone is actually probably pachirisu. Something about that little squirrel winning worlds is absolutely magnificent.
After spending a night in hospital and days on bed rest, this was a lovely notification to pop up for me, thanks flygon, it’s helping to cheer me up :)
For the question, I’d say Dedenne only because of the anime. I don’t even remember if I loved it, but it left an impression on me since it was the first pika clone I thought of
QOTD: Emolga, because it is imo by far the cutest and most unique with the flying typing. Also, emolga was my first ever shiny, which might make me a bit biased towards it.
Wow. Starlight would have survived if Rotom had the second ground immunity, the only time that typing + ability combo has *ever* been useful. Incredible. Nuzlockes are a masterclass in edge cases.
QOTD: my favorite pikaclone is Togedemaru. It's so round and cute and it can hit surprisingly hard. Also, I love its typing, which is only shared by the Magnet line. QOTD: I absolutely *adore* Togedemaru. Not only does it have one of the most fun names out of any pokémon, but it's just.. an adorable little spiky ball with the steel type, and what's not to love about that? Also, loving the Kalos region again! Pokémon Y was actually my first pokémon game when I was a kid, and I've been playing them ever since. I have so much nostalgia for Gen VI and I'm glad to see it get so much love in your playthroughs!
5:28 You nailed it. I was a kid when the first Land Before Time was released in 1988, so I totally marked out when I first saw Amaura, leading to Amaura and Aurorus becoming two of my favorite pokemon ever.
When you switched to rotom and a WHOLE FUCKING MICROWAVE appeared i legit LOST IT. Like, completely, absolutely lost it, to the point it woke up my neighbour. Thank you so much for this, it was a blast. Love your content.

Minun is legit one of my favourite Pokémon because of a nuzlocke. It was one of my last two Pokémon left at the end of an especially hard fight against Steven in ORAS. While my Blaziken is the one who really finished the job, I still grew very attached to Jonny the Minun. He still lives in my Pokémon Home
This was so fun! I was NOT expecting the sweet potato and microwave in the last part of the bit lol. For QOTD: I really like Togedemaru. Emolga is probably my favorite Pikaclone because of its typing. As far as the final battle, I have no idea how you will top the next Kalos run. The surprise of the sweet potato followed by the freaking microwave was just perfection and had me literally laughing so hard I cried. So glad I didn't peek at the comments before watching.

Rotom is by far one of my favorites. Like top 10. So imagine how much I laughed at the microwave and how sad I was to hear that Rotom had be sacrificed like twice only to be surprised when they actually lived. Love this!
QOTD I like Emolga the flying type is great for electric types and being based on a flying squirrel helps it stand out more then the other more grounded rodents

For the QOTD, it's between Dedenne and Pachirisu for me. Dedenne Ilove for its design and typing, and how adorable it sounded in the anime. Pachirisu I just have a lot of nostalgia for from the anime, when I was a kid. I was also stupid and thought that because it was white and blue it was Electric/Ice. Which I think would be a cool typing. But I still have a big soft spot for the squirrel.
Oh my god I’m SO excited to get to see him use Rotom! My favorite Pokémon that always got locked behind some obscure event for some reason until literally this generation!
i was holding my breath for that Blizzard hit against the Goodra, and i spit out my drink seeing you pull out an ENTIRE MICROWAVE to represent Buzzshock. very unique nuzlocke video, the puppets add a great touch. makes me want to start a monotype-locke of my own, probably with Steel type, my personal favorite!
Cool new Nuzlocke idea; So you still have to catch Pokémon, but you can catch however many you want and it doesn't even have to be the first encounter. Also, when your Pokémon faint they don't die and you can still keep using them. You can also use an unlimited amount of items. I call it the Epiclocke.
Genuinely was not expecting an entire microwave in the puppet show lmao, I lost it out loud at that! I love the joke, for what it's worth; it's always really entertaining when random objects come out instead of paper puppets.

I was dead when he pulled out the microwave, but he should have put the potato in the microwave.

“I don’t have an easy way to take out meowstic” *literally just caught rotom, a ghost type, which is super effective against psychic*
👀 But it wasn't in the fight
i was holding my breath for that Blizzard hit against the Goodra, and i spit out my drink seeing you pull out an ENTIRE MICROWAVE to represent Buzzshock. very unique nuzlocke video, the puppets add a great touch. makes me want to start a monotype-locke of my own, probably with Steel type, my personal favorite!
my favorite pikaclone is easily dedenne. i think it's so cute, and the most appealing pikaclone by far.
the puppet battle is too iconic to leave out, always enjoy it!
I used a heliolisk once in a playthrough and I think it’s very underrated. STAB return is very good!
But it’s a special attack
My favourite Pika-Clone is definitely Emolga, everyone hates this Pokémon but i find it so cute and its design is amazing
kalos!!! nothing makes me happier than seeing a new gen 6 nuzlocke!
dedenne is probably my favourite pikeclone. cute lil guy!
I might do this when I get Scarlet or Violet
my favourite pikaclone is probably emolga, the dual typing is pretty good and the black and white coloring is cool. its also cute af
QOTD: I love dedenne. It’s just so cute and I love the fact that it’s supposed to be the tooth fairy.
I played Pokemon Ranger when I was really little, so I’ll always have a soft spot for Pachirisu. Sooo cute when it curls up into its tail in the anime
QOTD: My favourite Pika-clone is probably either Emolga or Dedenne with Morpeko as a close second.
Best puppet fight yet. The confide jokes, the sweet potato, the literal microwave...it was just pure gold!
I cannot understate how much I laughed out loud when Buzzshock appeared against Gourgeist in the Diantha fight. That was amazing. X'D
When you brought out the microwave for Rotom-Heat I cackled. Amazing production Dr. Flygon
I was just thinking today about wanting another nuzlocke video, great timing flygon fellow
Flygon’s printer getting ready to print out the same diantha team for his next run
I love your content Flygon, I hope to someday improve my skills in nuzlocking.
I thought for sure it was gonna be 'Long live' with all the breaking through walls talk, but then you hit us up with 'Starlight'. What a curveball.
Poggers
Genuinely was not expecting an entire microwave in the puppet show lmao, I lost it out loud at that! I love the joke, for what it's worth; it's always really entertaining when random objects come out instead of paper puppets.
I realised like 15 minutes into this that I'd already watched it and I just... Kept going lmao. I love this guys videos
QOTD: Pachirisu. Its just the cutest to me.
Also I will never get tired of the puppet Diantha battles. Excellent work
The level of comedy combined with top tier skill is just great. I love it
