Can I beat Pokémon Y with only Electric Types using Hardcore Nuzlocke Rules?
Normal Nuzlocke Ruleset:
1. Fainting = Death
2. Can only catch the first Electric Type Pokémon on each Route (Species Clause); This includes Pokémon that evolve INTO Electric types, but does NOT include non-Electric Pokémon that evolved from Electric types!
3. Nickname Pokémon
Hardcore Nuzlocke Ruleset:
4. No items in battle (held items okay)
5. No leveling past the next gym leader/E4 (at the START of the battle)
6. Play on "Set" battle mode
Additional Kalos Ruleset:
7. Anime Rule - Must match party size of gym leaders/E4 members
8. No Mega Evolutions
9. No Pokémon Amie

Making Gourgeist a sweet potato puppet already had me laughing, but pulling out a WHOLE ASS MICROWAVE to represent the Rotom made me laugh so hard I disturbed my neighbors. Your bits are the best of any Poketuber, I swear.

I was legit having an awful day then I saw the fucking microwave and I absolutly lost it! Glorious!
Here’s a tip for future Kalos run throughs: the Snorlax blocking the road is holding a Sitrus berry. If any if your Pokemon can learn Thief you can get a really early Sitrus berry to either garden early or just to equip your Pokemon in the Grant fight. That might have saved Minun’s life.
You can also get Cheri berries before the Cyllage City Gym by showing a Pokémon of the proper type to the man in the top left house in Camphrier Town. That’s what I did: got the Cheri berry, planted it to get more, and swept Grant with my Mienfoo Chun-li.
If you're taking suggestions I had a fun time playing a No Gender Nuzlocke, where I could only use Pokemon that had Undiscoverable Genders: Golurk, Magnemite, Lunatone, etc. It was a seriously challenging run but also really rewarding. The unexpected MVP of the run was my Solroc named Apollo.

The development of each "confide" in the champion fight was almost as jarring as Zues's development from barely being able to kill an Amaura to one-shotting an Aurorus with a Brick Break

13:48, 37:44 - Apparently, Ampharos has always been partially based on a dragon, as its Japaenese name "Denryu" means both "electric current" and "electric dragon". ⚡🐉 Bulbapedia even mentions that "During the development of Pokémon Gold and Silver, Ampharos was stated to be an Electric/Dragon-type Pokémon".
Would've loved that typing in gen 2 and onwards. Amphy could use the versitility.
@@seifer447 honestly would've been worse as it expose him to even more weaknesses and he is so slow that he would likely get one shot before doing anything.
Dragon/ eletric would be really good on a fast sweeper, but on our poor boy it's really bad :(

QOTD: Emolga is my favorite pika clone. I like how Emolga has a secondary type of flying making it immune to electric's only weakness, ground.
Emolga is one of my favorite Pokémon period. They’re just so cute
It's ability also gives it electric immunity.
It also learns acrobatics, making it a very scary flying type

QOTD: I really like Mimikyu. It's a funny subversion on the Pikaclone trope, and has a really interesting design in general. I also have a soft spot for Emolja, due to being a massive Gen V stan (also because my friend hates it and it's very fun to pester him with Emolja gifs)

Mimikyu was a favorite Pokémon for me as soon as I saw it in the reveal trailers. I love the typing, and the Mimikyu Song really made me fall in love with it.

Kalos is so fun to watch you monolocke. I've got to say, it's significantly more fun to watch when you have the same pokemon as the gym leader (in a region where the 8th gym has 3 mons lol) as it brings a little more difficulty to bossfights that should be hard. Super excited to see the next challenge!
Kalos is actually great because it has the largest dex out of all Pokemon games, at ~450. So much variety!

The gym leaders only having 3 Pokemon each is wild.
I think the first gym leader should have 3, the second 4, the fourth 5, and everything after the 5th should have six. And all the elite four should as well, of course.

it was one of my first perfect pokémon in pokémon go like a whole year after i caught my first perfect vaporeon

QOTD: Pachirisu for obvious reason if you’re into VGC. Absolute amazing performance by Sejun that year, really showed that good team building is everything.
Pachirisu was my favourite before finding out about that match, and watching it solidified it

The Starlight loss was absolutely devastating. Great job for remembering that Ability and preventing further casualties tho. Also, bringing in the entire microwave during the puppet fight took me out. RIP to Shazam, I can't believe the watery grave he received in the end. Harsh. Never stop with the paper puppets.
Rock Tomb was boosted to 60 power and 95 accuracy in Gen 6, compared to 50 power and 80 accuracy previously, which is why it wasn’t missing as often as you expected it to.
My favourite pikachu clone is easily emolga. Flying squirrel good!
Edit: I love the fact that the only things on screen at the end being a sweet potato and a *microwave* somehow felt perfectly normal for a Nuzlocke video of yours. This channel is blessed.
if you've never played wilting y, you absolutely should! it's a difficulty/catch-em-all hack by the same person behind inclement emerald, it was probably the most fun i've had with a gen 6 game. also, the paper puppet show this time around is absolutely the best one so far
Gotta go with pachirisu as my favorite, first game was diamond and since I was a clueless child I was getting beat by trainers with pachirisus. This obviously meant that pachirisu was god tier and thus deserved a spot on my team.
Mimikyu and Emolga are my favorite pika clones, Mimikyu’s typing is great and Emolga’s design is amazing

QOTD: My favorite pika-clone is definitely Dedenne! It’s just so cute and the fairy type stab it gets helps it edge above the rest of the other pika-clones.
The Paper puppet show at the end is why I love this channel so much, from raichu and Dedenne being replaced by ratatouille characters to using a microwave for rotom, it was really funny to watch.
I haven’t been so scared in your challenge runs for awhile as I was while you talked about switching Rotom into Earthquake. That was almost Scrappy Miltank all over again.
During the last Lysander fight, you could use Rotom Mow who takes neutral from earthquake + resists aqua tail

Wow. Starlight would have survived if Rotom had the second ground immunity, the only time that typing + ability combo has *ever* been useful. Incredible. Nuzlockes are a masterclass in edge cases.

I also had a Locke where Pachirisu came in clutche often! My brother named her Hina and I'll forever love her (I actually beat the nuzlocke but ended up boxing her for the elite four as I was worried she'd end up dead)

Loving the Gen 6 Nuzlockes! New Nuzlocke idea; All Mega-capable mon, make your entire team Pokémon families that can Mega Evolve, but don’t Mega them.
Minun is legit one of my favourite Pokémon because of a nuzlocke. It was one of my last two Pokémon left at the end of an especially hard fight against Steven in ORAS. While my Blaziken is the one who really finished the job, I still grew very attached to Jonny the Minun. He still lives in my Pokémon Home

Also, loving the Kalos region again! Pokémon Y was actually my first pokémon game when I was a kid, and I've been playing them ever since. I have so much nostalgia for Gen VI and I'm glad to see it get so much love in your playthroughs!

Emolga is probably my favorite Pikaclone because of its typing. As far as the final battle, I have no idea how you will top the next Kalos run. The surprise of the sweet potato followed by the freaking microwave was just perfection and had me literally laughing so hard I cried. So glad I didn't peek at the comments before watching.

For QOTD: I really like Togedemaru. My first generation as a really hardcore Pokémon fan was gen 7, the generation it was released in. It was my first Pokémon plush, it was one of my first holo promo cards, and it helped me learn how to play Showdown. I still use its Sturdy sets on occasion, even though it's generally outclassed it's still super fun to use. It's special to me because it's always been by my side, and of course because it's so round and adorable!
5:28 You nailed it. I was a kid when the first Land Before Time was released in 1988, so I totally marked out when I first saw Amaura, leading to Amaura and Aurorus becoming two of my favorite pokemon ever.
I know that the Gym Leader restrictions have a lot to do with it, but I am endlessly fascinated by how often the Kalos region gives you trouble despite their purported lack of difficulty.

QOTD: Plusle is my favorite pikaclone. A pretty shallow reason why though. My older brother gave me a pack of cards around the time Hoenn came out, and Plusle was one of the cards in the pack. The cute art and the gift just locked Plusle right into the best pikaclone spot for me.

I used a heliolisk once in a playthrough and I think it’s very underrated. STAB return is very good!

Dedenne Ilove for its design and typing, and how adorable it sounded in the anime.
Pachirisu I just have a lot of nostalgia for from the anime, when I was a kid. I was also stupid and thought that because it was white and blue it was Electric/Ice. Which I think would be a cool typing.
But I still have a big soft spot for the squirrel.
Genuinely was not expecting an entire microwave in the puppet show lmao, I lost it out loud at that! I love the joke, for what it's worth; it's always really entertaining when random objects come out instead of paper puppets.
i've been playing pokemon y myself while watching this video and considering it took me nearly half an hour to find a single pikachu in santalune forest, i cannot imagine having to reset over 30 times to find one with a light ball. godspeed dr. HG, you really do the most for us.
Cool new Nuzlocke idea; So you still have to catch Pokémon, but you can catch however many you want and it doesn't even have to be the first encounter. Also, when your Pokémon faint they don't die and you can still keep using them. You can also use an unlimited amount of items.
I call it the Epiclocke.
I might do this when I get Scarlet or Violet
My favorite Pika-clone has to be Pacharisu! I had one in a nuzlocke with pickup and she let me evolve some pokemon who needed *very* late game stones so :3
She was also pretty clutch and good support so we love Hina

My fav pikaclone is Dedenne! Used to hate the little thing until I caught one in Sword and named it Numbers (after number stations, dedenne just gives off a radio vibe) after that I loved the little guy. Thank you for the new video! I really enjoy the Kalos challenges!
