Artist's Block! There's no such thing

I've been there
Wanting to create something, but unable to make a start. Frustrated. Angry. Sad. No self-belief or self-confidence. A dark place.
"But that's how it is for creative people", they said - Tortured. (thanks Vincent)
The result was that I stopped making any kind of art for 30 years
These 3 things will fix your artists block
1. Creative intention
Clearly define what makes you want to create, the reason you do it.
2. Expectations
If there is one thing that will trigger artists block it’s expectations, so remove them!
3. Acceptance
Love what you do, however it turns out!

Yes it's a well known saying, but I think "Expectation is the thief of joy" would be more accurate :)

Hi Tony. I enjoy your voice as it sounds like a Radio person. Its my bday today (39 yrs old) so I saw this and thought I would give my own two cents.
Artist block in my own perspective is when I for some reason don't want to draw because maybe people are seeing me or maybe I get lazy. I also will look at an artist better than me and at times before get discouraged.

Someone once pointed out that there's no such thing as plumber's block - those guys just turn up and do their thing, no waiting around to be inspired, no wondering about why they do it, no comparing themselves to other plumbers. OK, art != plumbing but still, I found it a useful thing to bear in mind.
