@@thesmokingcap If I use a screwdriver that is actually big enough to fit the slot, like the one you used, then I find it's almost impossible for it to slip out. The small ones are a dangerous gamble...
I loved my Palomino. I was able to upgrade to an XP from a Thunderbird without changing the board back then. And you could still unlock the multipliers by reconnecting bridges. In comparison, with a socket 423 P4 you were totally screwed on upgrading.
I've found it to be a upgradeable platform to work with. Would have been amazing to pick these up new. Found a new issue with this motherboard however, that bluescreen is related to a RAM issue. But seems that something going on with the motherboard is causing all replacement sticks to fail at the same spot. I wondering if more caps have died or have high ESR. I really need to get myself a ESR meter

@@Shmbler Still kicking myself on this one. But yes the bigger ones do fit the cooler clips much better
