- If you have a small hobby workshop and are interested in woodworking hobby. You definitely need this tool. A sanding block is a block used to hold sandpaper. My sanding blocks, it is a block of wood (plywood) with smooth flat sides.
You should definitely watch this how-to video. In this video, I make two sanding blocks using some playwood, some sanding paper and one 75x533mm sanding belt. . One is smaller and the other is slightly larger hand sander.
You will like these sanding blocks with very stretched sandpaper. It is very cheap and very useful. After downloading the PDF plan, you can do it easily.
Sanding blocks are useful because they prevent "waves" created by plain sandpaper.

It's a good idea for belts with a belt sander. I use a piece of board that fits tightly. This solution works, but your idea is better.

Could also attack two different grit sandpaper together and then you could have a coarser side and a finer side to sand with... And use some springs between the two blocks of wood and the tension would be constant...

Muy buena idea. Lo mejor es el bajo costo y simpleza. Pienso si usas alguna goma tipo foam bajo la superficie de la sandpaper puede acojer mejor la presión al raspar.

Идея отличная, сделаю себе обязательно. Хотел бы добавить, что клей можно было даже не использовать, а для фиксации подойдет и столярный клей.
Присоединяюсь к тем кто добавил что проще использовать барашки вместо винтов и 2 вида наждачных бумаг

Have you tried the springs instead of bolts and nuts? Maybe it could ease using this sanding blocks.

In my experience, nothing beats a cork block for ease of use and speed. You can constantly move the sandpaper around and find the sharpest cutting surface.
Staples would also join the sanding paper

Instead of using epoxy to make the belt, how about some form of staples? The stapled joint could be placed in the gap just as you did w/ the epoxy joint. Really like the concept
It may be tried, but sandpaper may tear. I have the idea of using tape adhesive internally.

Sorry, but I am confused. The first one you made you didn't put any nuts on the allthread and epoxied both sides so that they are fixed?
