If Mercedes didn't want to give Lewis a long term deal, what did they think he would do? They clearly left the door opened to benefit themselves as well, meaning they could have the option to replace him. Cleary, they didn't think he'll be valuable after the 2025 season.

Yeah, first step was paying him less now he's not champ. Sorta understandable but it's their fault he's not winning, he's the same driver do why does he deserve to get paid less for their fault? Then short contract with an option incase he's over the hill and it is his fault, then making Lewis feel they weren't listening to a thing he said in the development of the new car. He probably thought "sack this".

What's crazy is they did it to themselves with the short contract offer. Lewis probably wouldn't have switched, but as someone who grew up watching Ferrari, i'm happy Lewis is jumping on. He can make one final push and it'll be great partner for Charles to have as well. Mercedes will be fine. But you see two things in Toto, 1. Joy for someone who he considers a friend, 2. Sorrow as they lost one of the things that made them the best.

I think it's a brilliant move from LH. Everyone is forgetting, LH won a World Championship with McLaren while Mercedes was a mid field team, with new rules and regulations, Mercedes presented to LH their new powerplant for the turbo hybrid era, LH, very familiar with McLaren and knowing what direction they are taking, decided that Mercedes will have the better car. Now with Mercedes, it's deja vu, knowing what Mercedes have up their sleeves for 2026, and Ferrari presenting to LH their 2026 plan, LH decided , like he did with McLaren, that Ferrari will often him a better car for the next era of rules and regulations. Eventhough Ferrari struggled against LH during with Seb, and they struggled against RB, everyone on the grid agreed that Ferrari's powerplant has always make the most power, and with RB mounting a Ford in their car, and everyone using 100% sustainable fuel, I think Ferrari's engine will remained top 2 again. The scary part is, LH, he knows the Mercedes factory inside out, he watched as they struggle and couldn't dig themselves out of the hold for the last two seasons, he has knowledge of their 2025 and 2026 plans, and he's comparing that to what Ferrari showed him, on paper, Ferrari looks like they're going to be a tough team to compete against.

Yea of course Lewis knows the numbers. Data already showing where the car is in terms of performance. Lewis knows something what we all don’t know about the Ferrari in 2026. Same with Leclerc. Even before signing that multiyear contract he knew Lewis will come he sign it cause they knew something about this 2026 Ferrari. Some employees from Red Bull and Mercedes are coming to Ferrari and I think Ferrari will have a great car in 2026.

Hmm, Alonso was playing table tennis with George Russel on a plane where they were going for an outting. Alonso to Mercedes in 2025? The timing is impeccable. Both Russel and Alonso tweeted it. The plot thickens! :D

Alright I will admit it - as a Merc and Hamilton fan it’s confusing right now. Good thing is I’ve always liked Sainz and Lando, so in the past I’ve been happy to support Ferrari and McLaren because of them.
I imagine I’ll end up following Ham and supporting Ferrari. Should be a fun change.

It's time to move on. It was a great run at Mercedes and he'll always be the face of this team just like Jordan was with the Chicago Bulls. I'm sure driving for Ferrari was always on his career bucket list so congrats to him.

This is only my opinion. I think Lewis has probably always had his heart on Ferrari. They are a Iconic brand, and being a fan of Michael Schumacher. Who wouldn't want to drive for them. Mercedes is struggling, and Ferrari is on the cusp of figuring it out. Not sure he is going to drive far into his 40's. This is his best chance to go out on top, and do it in a Ferrari. It would be a fantastic dream if it works out.

    Toto you lie bro😂
In 2022, Mercedes might not have cared if Lewis left, as it looked like George was faster, but in 2023, Lewis showed his class and put question marks about Russell’s ultimate pace into Mercedes’ minds.

So ultimately it came down to money and the need to feel wanted. Think Mercedes played this badly last August at the contract negotiations. With regards to money does Toto really need save money? Is hair dye really that expensive?

100%, Mercedes allowed this to blow up in their face. They just became a nobody in one year because they're greedy and won't listen to their drivers. If I was George I'd be worried, but he has nowhere to go.
