Artorias is such a great boss that his boss weapon is the only one other than the MLGS to be featured in all the souls games, and he inspires great bosses like Abyss Watchers and Slave Knight Gael
ciaran is my fav knight of gwyn after the boy in blue of course. I wonder what more could have been done with the knights and other minor characters with more budget and time. After seeing the scale of ds3 and elden ring, i bet it would've just been even more amazing than what we got
Artorias was the first boss that I actually struggled with, but not in a it’s unfair way, but a truly fun and fair challenge. I legit had to actually alter the way I played and perfect my dodges instead of just shielding up. He is my favorite boss.
The very thought the fight with Artorias is somewhat handicap... imagined if we fight him in his prime, his lefthand still working... Lorewise... This guy, the very captain Gwynn trusted to fight the Abyss...
Well, same as with Gwyn. The version we fight is not even close to what he once was. Actually, most of the things we fight in the game are just a fraction of what they were at some point.
@@lucascarracedo7421 the only ones at full power are Manus, Kalameet, O and S, Velstadt, Nashandra, Fume Knight, Sir Alonne, Ivory King, Pontiff Sulyvan, Aldrich, Friede and Gael.
@@blizzardgaming7070 yeah, exactly. Well technically O and S are arguable depending on if you believe they are both real or not. But it's great that after going through all that there's that idea that we cheated because most were not in their prime. At least conceptually.
I got it. Be careful If you don't have a pro Controller or play in handheld mode. Most of my death we're because of joycondrift. Especially in blighttown
23:05 I'm well aware that there's a canon ending, the Age of Fire, but i always had this thought that the choice could be either or. And at some point in between Dark Souls 2 and 3 the fire had been linked for thousands upon thousands of years. As a matter of tradition, I think.
IMO, Sif didn't fight you because you're robbing Artorias grave, but rather to prevent you from traversing the Abyss. Sif is trying to not let the same fate that happened to his master, happened to his savior too. Not like that's gonna stop my tears tho.
Your intro monologue perfectly describes my thoughts about The Old Hunter’s from Bloodborne. Definitely right up there next to AOTA in best ever DLC expansions.
What I love about Artorias is that despite being corrupted by the abyss he still hunts creatures of the abyss so some part of him is still in there
And he fights us using his non-dominant hand. What a legend

Artorias is kind of reskin of False King Allant from Demon's. They both have that chargeup move but Allant's charge up is worse.

Fun fact, he's left handed. He is kicking our collective asses with his off hand.
