i learned recently about Americas only native caffeinated leaf called Yaupon. It comes from a holly bush and is roasted and brewed like tea but has no tannins, so no weird stomach stuff. Its quite good and not jittery. It was suppressed by the tea industry in the 1800's but is making a small comeback.

My Scottish Mum told me we all descended from African Man" now while I'm not disputing this piece of knowledge... I am as white as a piece of paper. My hair was as white as paper til I was 5 years old and unfortunately I was born in 1962 and people still remember the tense horror film "Children of the corn" Tough break for me I hear you say lol but the crowning glory is I can not, under any circumstances, spend more than 5 minutes in the sun and I break out in hives, burn painfully and peel, no I'm not an albino as my now brunette hair and vivid blue eye can attest to but I've recently found out I'm allergic to Sun... photo sensative... Thank you to my body for mutating me so far from our ancestors as to make me an indoor human being. Thank goodness for the crappy Scottish weather... rain rain and more rain with the "once in a blue mood" day of sunshine I can avoid if neads be. Mum was from Dumbarton and Dad was from Large both side with a long Scottish bloodline. They do say your parent's will f you up lol... cheers folks xxx

@Richard Homan All dogs did originate from the same common ancestor. In fact all mammalian life on earth came from one initial species post-Dinosaur extinction. Humans, similarly, evolved from primates in modern day Ethiopia. So, yes, we did all originate in Africa. Oh, and each breed of dog is different due to evolution. Different habitats lead to different requirements for survival and proliferation so the most fit due to mutation breed more frequently, so desired traits become more common, rinse and repeat for 10 million years. Same goes for humans. African natives have darker skin as they live in more sunny climates so require the ability to resist heat. Same reason colder climates, such as Nordic countries have very pale skin to absorb lots of heat.
